Sorry thought you did on the FTP, but the price on it has come up so much it's not a bargain anymore.
There are coupons, etc. Even saving $150+ makes it a great value. That and the fact that they do not fail often like the Sig optics are known to. I have an XL on my open guns but prefer the FTP for mounted on a slide.

I do not want to have to remove the optic to change the battery
Not sure what you are referring to but you don't with the RTS2, FTP Alpha3, or Sig Romeo 3 Max/XL.

Had a non OR milled for an XL.
Love it.
Awesome. That’s my jam. That or the FTP Alpha3.

I thought that owl looked familiar. It's a sub brand of Doctor Optics.
Yes. A buddy was telling me that yesterday.

Glad it is resolved. That blaster looks incredible. Simple and perfect.

@Silverscooby27 as much as I agree with you I really don't want to wait 8 weeks for the slide milling. I should have bought this a while ago so i had much more time to get it ready for the season but procrastination and all that.
They make an optic ready version as well. Best of both worlds.

There is one there that it took some time for the owner to actually watch the oiling video instead of just pouring oil on the slide. Lack of oil on the locking block is the only way to break one. It’s a friction system, like an engine, it needs oil.
They literally tell you to drench it and to the point of dripping.

A 50+ oz shoots softer no doubt but its like carrying around a drilling hammer all day. I have a PT frame and slide on one of my current open guns now and we kept cutting on it over and over until the dust cover was short and took alot of steel out where we could to get it down to 45oz or so with a plastic grip. If we add the SS evo grip back too heavy again. For me anyway. Thats my preference. To each his own but a lighter gun handles quicker imo.
I’m 6 foot seven and 240 pounds. Weight has never been an issue for me. That tells you how much it does come down to preference.

If you get used to using different guns the weight is extremely important. I like around 43-47 oz guns. Tried shorties in the high 30's but they are too wild for me. 50+ oz guns feel sluggish on draws and transitions. If you dont believe me try a much lighter one and time yourself. I guess it depends what you do though. Im speaking with regard to USPSA use.
Ok

I understand the allure of the honcho but I just cant see the weight? I mean the wait is bad but wouldn't the weight be worse?
What does a Honcho open setup with SS grip weigh?
Mine was about 54oz. Why would weight be an issue? They shoot very nice

How many uses are you all getting out of your 9 major brass? I "get" the shoot it until the primers fall out but I'd like to prevent cracking, which i've had some of lately.
About 5 or so

I love the look and strength of DLC and how it changes based on the metal under it….brushed versus flat, etc. No oil needed but when I clean the guns I wipe them all down a little and then wipe them off.

Try to copy the infinity pattern . Seems to be the best thought out pattern
This!!!!! I have the new offset hybrid SV ports for my 9mm IMM and they flat out work!

A well known builder is now using 4 popple holes in 9mm and I wonder just how much powder is needed to make PF. I like two but that is just me

Yes indeed, very interesting. I watched a YouTube video of an open shooter whose locking block cracked in the middle of a USPSA stage. Phoenix Trinity fixed it, for no cost I imagine. This wouldn’t keep me from buying one. Things can break even on the best made pistols.
I have heard of the blocks breaking on a few but overall those guns and the value they bring are fantastic!

If it does bother you send me the mount and I’ll mill it down for you.
Nice gesture here. @donnyglock does awesome work

Since I have large hands the PT Evo and SV SIgnature grips have been a good fit with relief cut magwells. The Limcat grips I have owned have all been sized for tiny people.

HM Black Nitride is one of my all time favorite finishes. It's durable and gorgeous. My SV grips have DLC on them though.
-
It’s only really visible when you are thinking about it and during dry fire. On the clock I’ve never had a problem on any of my CZ or A01 pistols. I sent my SP01 off to CGW and they lopped off the top of the front sight and kept it flush and it was really clean. Since I only use these guns for games I don’t care about a front sight.

What did you have to specify in your order to get them to do that?
EDIT: Neve mind; I see that they instruct you to contact them.Haha. Yes, they are really fast to reply and will do one off special things sometimes too.

I noticed CZC had special grips for the 75 mags in a A01.
Yes. Stuart has been very helpful with things like that.

I have Lok grips on mine and, as I have a large number of 75B mags, I had them make the grips so I could use them in my A-01.
Yep. Lok is great like that. Lots of guys hesitated to come over to the A01 from the 75 due to the mags. The 75 mags actually work in the gun as is but wiggle around.

They are so smooth when coated and don't really wear. I like the look

I thought so as well. And even with getting the RDS CZC plate system cut amd a plate for the romeo 3max I'm still under the original cost.
Congrats! You will love it.
