  1. Well, I have not had any luck in getting information from Rhino Chokes. After calling a couple of times, I called again and was able to speak to a gentleman who told me about how wonderful and technologically advanced his porting was. He then named off a bunch of people who are using his porting, which meant nothing to me as they were clays shooters. I asked if I could see a picture of the porting, to which he asked if I was more interested in what it looked like than how it worked? I let him know that I never bought anything unless I was able to see what I am getting first. He asked me what I was going to use the gun for, and when I let him know it was for 3 gun, he let me know that he was a Grandmaster and that he knew what I needed. He then transferred me to another guy who asked for my email, and after a couple of minutes, said that it was on its way. I called back about 20 mins latter, and said that I had not received it, he said that he sent it, and that it wasn't instant messaging, and that it would take awhile. I said okay eventhough I know this isn't true. I called back the next day and left a message with their customer service extension. I never received a call back, eventhough the message said that they would. By the way, the name and voice on the customer service recording was the same guy who said that he had sent me the information. I called again, the next day, but did not leave another message. Rhino chokes may have great porting, but it doesn't seem like they want my business, so I will move on. Has anyone had any experience with AnglePort by Ballistic Specialties? I want to get my new Benelli's barrel ported and forcing cone lengthened. Thanks, Z
  2. I looked at Rhinochokes' website, but there were no pictures of any barrel porting. I sent an email yesterday and tried to call Rhinochokes in Florida this morning. I have not gotten an answer to the email and their voice mailboxes are full (I called customer service and sales). Is this normal for them? The last barrel I had ported was from Mag-Na-Port, and I was able to communicate with them via email and phone.
  3. Do you have any pictures of the Rhino Porting you talk about?

  4. Hi, Do you have any pictures of your shotgun with the Rhino porting? Thanks...Z
  5. I have a new Benelli M2 that I am setting up for the open class. I would like to know if anyone has had their barrel Angle Ported by Ballistic Specialties? I currently have a shotgun that has been Mag-Na-Ported, and frankly I couldn't tell much difference, a little but not much. Does anyone have any experience with Angle Porting, and do you have any pictures of your barrel? The photos on their website are really poor. Also, has anyone tried a shotgun with the old JP mid-barrel brake? Did it work? Does anyone have an old JP mid-barrel shotgun brake laying around, or know of where I might find one that I could buy? I know it's a longshot, but I thought I would try. Thanks....Z
  6. What you are looking for is in this link: http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=9378&st=0&p=108926&hl=browning%20piston&fromsearch=1entry108926 You are looking for a sporting clays piston for a Browning Gold. Z
  7. Here is a picture of my 1187 that I have had for about 15 years. It has undergone several optic changes over the years. I did have a rib mounted rail on this for awhile, but it added a lot of weight to the gun. I added the Arredondo rib mount about 6 years ago, and really like it. I have mounted it a little further forward than Arredondo does, but this is because I will grab the area between the optic and the receiver to load it with the tecloaders. I currently have a C-More STS mounted. I also really like the Burris SpeedBead. A friend of mine has it on his Benelli. The only thing I wonder about is if the zero changes when he take the barrel off for cleaning. This picture was taken when I was testing a Polychoke, which I ended up liking, and keeping on the gun. I hope this helps...Z
  8. Hi everyone, I am building a new 9mm open gun and I was trying to decide on a comp. I have sort of narrowed it down to the 7 port EGW, 8 port EGW, and the 7 port Bedell. Although I realize that the 7 port EGW and the Bedell are pretty much the same, I was wondering about the Bedell's staged port design. Let me know your opinions on these comps or any others that I have not listed. Thanks....Z
  9. I hope this new company brings these guns to California. I would like to have the Limited Custom Eric possibly the Bullseye.
  10. IFG and EAA have the same address. I hope that EAA improves their customer service practices. I have dealt with them in the past and it was pretty bad. Z
  11. Hi, Can someone tell me what the differences are between a standard Benelli M2 and an M2 American? Thank you, Z
  12. I have a friend that as that same shotgun. I believe he uses the Wally World Federals. Have you tried these? My 1187 had problems with both the Remington and Winchester Wally World bulk packs. But my gun will run with the Federals. Also make sure you run your gun WET. Especially around the gas system. That is my 2 cents for whatever it's worth.
  13. Thanks for all your time and effort! Z
  14. Thanks everyone, I think that Brits would say "Bloody" or "Wankin'"... Kampr, Did you have to modify the speedbead mount? Also, do you have an Arredondo assist brackets on your gun? If so, which model, and did you have to do anything special to it to get it to fit?
  15. Does anyone know if any of the Burris Speedbead brackets will fit on the Remington Versa Max? Thanks...Z
  16. I have been using a 26" barrel that I bought from Cabella's about 10 years ago. I went with the 26" because I was shooting in the open class, and I read that the 11-87's self regulating gas system would not work with a barrel shorter than that. When I was running the gun's capacity at 10+1, the barrel was about 2" shorter than the mag tube. I have since switched to a Nordic tube that allows me to have 13+1 with 2 3/4" birdshot. Now, the barrel is about 7 1/2" shorter than the mag tube, and I had to buy a special gun case for it. The barrel is mag-na-ported, and the gas holes drilled out another .005. Last month I decided to run a Poly-choke, mostly because my gun looked freakishly long. It acually worked pretty well, and I am thinking about leaving it on.
  17. I am going to be switching from the Remington 1187 that I have been using in the open class to a Benelli. I was wondering if the TecLoader tubes that I have will also work with a Benelli? I know that the TecLoader tubes are slightly different as the Remington has a longer piece in front. But does this need to be modified to be used with the Benelli, or can I just use them as is? Also, does anyone know if ArmsTec is still in business? Thanks, Z
  18. Can a LimCat Glock (GlockCat, TupperwareCat, GastonCat, etc.) be in the works? I once saw a glock open gun that had a LimCat Turbo comp on it. Johnny Lim is an artist and genius when it comes to this kind of stuff.
  19. I know that the joint and the tasco are the same sights and so the same dimensions. The Docter and the FastFire are the same size other than where the on/off switch is. I believe they have the same hole spacing, however the Docter and the FastFire are longer. If you have the JP mount on your gun, if there is space length wise, it should fit, but the sight will hang over a little. Does your mount have locator bumps on it? I use an Arredondo rib mount on my 1187, and I had to file the bumps off mine when I switched from a Docter to a C-more STS.
  20. Unfortunately, X-Rails are not available in California...
  21. Does anyone know if an Arredondo Speedloader assist bracket for a Benelli will fit and work on a Remington Versa Max? If so, which one M1 or M2? THANKS, Z
  22. Sorry I came in late, but what gunsmith built this gun?
  23. Sorry, didn't realize there was a gen 2.
  24. I have that set up. I have a DPMS 18" barrel and a POF muzzlebrake. The handguard is pretty lite. When I installed it, I broke out one of the holes on the barrel nut that the gas tube goes through with the barrel wrench. It was still functional, but I called MI and they sent out a new one, no charge. The only other problem that I had was that there is a screw that helps to orient the handguard to be vertical and also keeps it from twisting, that is at the 6:00 position under the barrel. I stripped mine out, because the threads are only as wide as the handguard is thick, so I stripped it on the second time I took the handguard off. Not a huge problem. The good thing is that it comes with two accessory rails that can be positioned anywhere there are holes in the handguard. Why did I decide to use a long handguard? I just wanted a different look, and I did not want to be able to grab the gas block during the heat of transitioning from target to target. Here is a pic:
  25. You will not be disappointed! Z
