  1. Does anyone have experience with the McCormick set up with the straight trigger? Are they any good? Does the shape of the trigger help or no?
  2. Here are a couple of pictures of my RazorCat built on a Para frame. Johnny built this gun for a friend of mine, who latter sold it to me. These pictures are not very good. The gun works great, it is a bit heavier than LimCats built on STI/SVI frames. The gun now has a DeltaPoint instead of the STS that is in the pictures. Thanks...Z
  3. I have a LimCat RazorCat built on a Para frame in 9mm major. I am using Para 9mm mag tubes, Dawson basepads, stock para followers, with STI/SVI Wolff springs. I am also running Arredondo base pad inserts (the one with the fingers on each side). My rounds are 1.155 OAL with 124 Montana Gold JHPs. These feed reliably with 21 rounds in a 140mm mag in my gun. I hope this helps.... Z
  4. I know this is a little off the subject but have you considered the new Remington Versa Max? It is supposed to be coming out in a tactical version sometime in December. The preliminary stats are: - 12 gauge - 22-inch barrel (more barrel options to come) - Magazine capacity: 2.75-inch (7+1); 3-inch (6+1); note: there is no 3.5-inch option - Picatinny rail mounted on receiver - Clamp on side of barrel for mounting lights, lasers and other accessories - Over-sized bolt handle, release button and safety - Two choke options: improved cylinder; ported "tactical" breacher choke - MSRP: $1,399 I have heard that Daniel Horner is using one now.
  5. I was given a Poly-choke II by a friend of mine. With the adjustability, it looks like it would work well for 3 gun. Does anyone use this product? Are there problems with this choke?
  6. I recently went to a match in Ione, CA. where the guy who was R.O.ing me told me that I had to start with my bipod up (unfolded) eventhough the stage description said bipod down was allowed. When I pointed out that others had started with the bipod down, he told me that he did not R.O. those people and that this was against USPSA. This guy, then stated that the description was wrong and that I would have to start with it up. Well, I guess he didn't know what he was talking about, and I guess I should not be surprised. Z
  7. I don't have any experience setting up this shotgun for 3 guns, but without the existance of speedloaders, you are pretty much stuck in the limited class (unless you have access to a talented gunsmith that can fabricate one.) like my SLP. I do really like the Briley advertisement in the July/August issue of Front Sight with blue charging handle and carrier release. Thanks, Z
  8. A friend of mine had the same problem during a multi-gun match. He was running his Tac4 dry, and hadn't cleaned it in a while. After I lubed it up, it ran fine. I run my 1187 wet everywhere. I use Gun Butter on the trigger and bolt release latch or whatever you call that lever that the shell hits to close the action. I also run the gas system really wet, and even lube it a little after two or three stages. I usually use a synthetic light motor oil like Mobil 1. I also clean the gun, especially the gas area, after I am done shooting, or before the next match or practice. Lastly, I usually run two O rings. My shotgun rarely has any problems cycling. I read an article by Patrick Sweeney a while back that talked about running Remingtons like this. Z
  9. I know this is off the subject, but does anyone know what kind of slide racker is on the glock 34? And where can I get one? Thanks, Z
  10. My SLP will hold 8 birdshot rounds in the mag tube, but will only hold 7 slugs. I decided to remove the magazine spring retainer and surprise, it now holds 8 slugs. I don't think that this will hurt anything as none of the extension tubes that I know about have a spring retainer. Does anyone know if this will hurt anything? Z
  11. I recently did this to my FN. I had a tactical length speed feed stock (about 1" shorter LOP) for an 1100. It was relatively easy with these instructions. The only thing that I don't like is the gap between the trigger guard and the pistol grip. But is fits fine and the to the trigger works just fine. Z
  12. I have a chance to buy a shotgun that has the following markings on it: Heckler & Koch, mag cal 12 CL, Benelli Armi Spa, Urbino, Italy. It has a strange looking forearm on it. Can anyone tell me what this is? Is it the same as the M series? Does anyone know if it will accept the same accessories as an M series Benelli? Thanks, Z
  13. Have you looked at the Mesa Tactical sure shell? They have an 8 round model, that does not require the forend being modified. It is expensive (between $75-90.00 depending where you get it. Just do a google search.), but it is made of aluminum, and uses an elastomer piece to hold the shells in. It looks slick and won't wear out. Z
  14. That looks really nice. How long did it take, and what did it cost? Thanks, Z
  15. Here is a picture of the shotgun and the porting that I was talking about. Unfortunately the picture is not very good. It shows that the vent rib has been removed. I was thinking about doing this to my Remington. But the spacing between the attachments to the barrel are not as wide as they are on the Benelli. As a result, I would have to cut or grind one of the rib attachment points off. I was wondering if the rib was silver soldered on so that I could possibly just heat it to remove it.
  16. I have two questions: Does anyone know who did the barrel porting on Maggie Reese's Benelli? Also does anyone know how the vent rib is attached on a Remington barrel? And how easy or difficult it is to remove? (I guess that was 3 questions). Thanks, Z
  17. I am looking to find an open class blaster for this years matches. I saw this gun in pictures, and was really interested in maybe getting one. I got to touch one at the SHOT show and really liked the way it felt, and so I talked to the CZ reps and was told that only a few were coming into the this country this year. I really would like to know how it shoots. I have just shot a LimCat DragonCat and thought it was the flatest shooting gun since trying a 9x25 Dillon a number of years ago. So I guess I would like to know how it functions (is it reliable, etc), how flat it shoots, etc. Thanks, Z
  18. Does anyone have any information on the CZ Chechmate open guns?
  19. I would just shoot it! Many of the 3 gun matches that I have shot, did not have many targets over 100 yards. On another note, at the SHOT show, I was talking to Krebs (of Krebs Custom Guns) at the Leatherwood booth. He showed me an AK in 6.5 Grendel. He was telling me what a great round it was. Unfortunately, we did not talk about the accuracy of the rifle, but I'll bet, coming from Krebs, it would be much improved over the 7.62x39 round. This AK also had the Leatherwood CMR scope mounted to it. For the price, I was quite impressed. But back to the subject, go out and shoot, and have FUN! Z
  20. Thank you everyone! The combined knowledge of this forum is awesome! Thanks, Z
  21. You should contact Vortex, they show a cat tail for their scope on their brouchure that I got at the SHOT show. At the show, they had them on their 1-4 scopes to play with. Z
  22. Hi Everyone, I am thinking about switching from my Remington 1187 to a Benelli. I would like to know if I can use my Remington speedloaders with a Benelli and what the differences are between the tubes. I know that I will need to buy atleast one set to get the bottom bracket. Thanks, Z
  23. You need the Midwest Industries SS15 tube. It is 15 inches long and with the 16 inch barrel, you will get the look you want. I have seen one on a 16", and it looks really slick. Here is a link: http://www.midwestindustriesinc.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=category.display&category_id=288 Cheers, Z
  24. Hi, I am interested in the model for the small frame. I would like to know if it will fit the standard model small frame of does it need to be a competition style frame? I have both but really need on for the non competitiion frame. Thanks, Z
  25. Have you looked at this one from AMS machine? It will fit standard M1a barrels but you will need the barrel shroud that the SOCOM and the Squad Scout uses. I believe that it is about $160.00. It looks interesting. Z
