  1. dt1, 400 yard holdover should be accurate, I hope! Last year we shot out to 380yds on one of the sniper ranges. Hope this helps, Steve
  2. Guessing the hide is down? I can't get into it today.
  3. When will the results be posted? Just curious to see how you folks that got to shoot did.
  4. WOOHOO!!!!!!!!!! I am in! Looking forward to the 3rd straight great match at Benning!
  5. App and check will be in the mail the 1st! Can't wait till Dec. Again...
  6. Too much scope in what way? It's perfect for any range you want to shoot a 308 at. And it is just a tad over 1000, ok closer to 1200. I am looking at the 2-12 for my AR next with that cqb retical for out to 800 yds.
  7. That's purely up to you. Personally if I was shooting anything <100yds, I'd go with the 3-10. Anything above that, the 4.5-14x50 would probably be more what your looking for. I've used a 10x out to 1000yds without any problems. Leupold makes great glass, you might also want to consider the IOR, their as good as if not better than Leupold at about 25% less cost as well. IOR 4-14x50 IOR 2.5-10x42 IOR 10x42 40, You left out the most widely used IOR for long range shooting, the 3x18x42 version. It's what I have on my SPR A1 and works great from 100yds out to 1000 yds and the dot wont cover your bull at 1000 like the leupy mildot does. Just my 2 cents worth.
  8. So, looks like my question may have been answered here. I am contemplating building a 9mm top end for my Para P16 .40. So from what I am reading all I need to do is buy/fit the slide and fit the barrel? Much cheaper than buying a new gun just for outlaw 3 gun world.
  9. Yet another great match! Even with the snafus at the end. We were there to shoot and have a great time and meet new/old friends. I think we all accomplished that much and more. Hamp, you know we will be there yet again next year, having yet another GREAT weekend! Thank you to to all who planned, organized, worked and sponsored this great match!!! Let's just hope the weather will be as wonderful as it was this year. Coming back to Benning brings back good and bad memories, butthey made those of us who have suffered through that even stronger and better people for having served! Thanks you for all of you serving today and yesterday so that we can enjoy shooting this match in a free country! C'ya next year folks!
  10. Leaving here in about 2 hours, midnight. Should roll into Benning around 8am ish! Can't wait to get back!
  11. Haven't heard any round counts for this years match yet, but we only needed 10 or 12 last year, if I remember correctly.
  12. Why is it sad? If it works and costs you less cash, go with it! Look at all the other 3 gunners running the simmons pro diamond scope, which costs under $100 if you could find the right deal. Actually you may not even need the second optic. Its only used for the short shots anyway, just learn to aim at the top of the head on close headshots and center mass on full targets. And make sure you zero at 50 yards, this will put you on at 200 yds as well.
  13. Wayne, Silly question, but is the range on the same time as Louisville or an hour behind? You know I will be there waiting on the gate to open just like last year! hehe
  14. No recent results are showing on my browser...AOL. Anyone?? Is the link not working for you or whay Merlin? Try going to the dpms site www.dpmsinc.com and click on events and the results are right there. Hope this helps?
  15. Here is the link to the 2006 finals. http://www.dpmsinc.com/events.asp
  16. Yeah sure we can!!! Won't happen here guys. Wayne, app is in the mail in the morning.
  17. Hmmmmm, so MACS are decent machines? Have never owned one myself, but I do have access to one I can probably get cheap if not free. Its a desktop version and I know squat about MACs. May have to get it just to play if nothing else. Seeing as I do all the pc stuff at work, it can't hurt to learn another platform. When I find out exactly what the rig is I will let you know George. Thanks, Steve
  18. WOW only 2 weeks? Guess maybe I should get an app in to Wayne maybe? LOL You know I will be there Wayne and you will have my money in plenty of time.
  19. I have TPS low rings on my rifle. They actually came with my IOR scope, but then again, there are not many out there making 35mm rings.
  20. Dave, This is for you. I attempted to have one of your fiber optic front sights installed on my Para P16 slide, which currently has a post type Hi Viz it looks like installed. The smith just informed me that he not only does not have the cutter for this sights dovetail but that he will not look for one just to do my install!!! What are the chances that you have a cutter for a Para factory front sight? If you don't. then who does other than Para that can/will do this install for me? Thanks, Steve
  21. Does anyone know who, if anyone, makes a fixed rear sight that will just slide into the factory fixed rear sight dovetail on a Para P16? Or maybe someone has a factory rear fixed sight that they replaced lying around they dont need from a P16? Thanks
  22. C'mon Kath, Some of us know you have the guns to shoot 3 Gun matches! You going to shoot Ky this year? C'Ya there if ya are! Any stage info on the MOR match? Distances/target type and size, round count? Thanks
