    NEW DAWSON SIGHTS

    Dawsons & SP-01, not Shadow

    NEW DAWSON SIGHTS

CGW sights are made by Dawson, however they are quite different.

    NEW DAWSON SIGHTS

No they are not. said to be the same sight as CZ 75 SP-01 Fixed Competition Black Rear Sights but cut/adjusted for the Shadow slide. The blade is quite a bit narrower. I think mine measured mid-low .500's (wide) if I remember right. (Same width as the top of the factory SP-01 night sights.) The Dawson are a great quality sight and have a great sight pattern on the rear sight. It relay draws your eye to the front sight and does not overhang to interfere with a stock hammer,...just not wide enough rear blade for me.
  4. Nope, ran like a champ out of the box and well over 3k rounds and not one FTF, FTE or light strike. Sorry for your luck
  5. For plinking I would use the unique and bullseye, load the Tightgroup and N320 for matches. Personaly I would use the Tightgroup up for plinking also, just because I do not carefor it myself, but many love it as their go to powder.
  6. Would love to see a picture on how it turned out when you can.
  7. Regular SP-01, I have a set of the Dawsons that came last week, just wish the rear blade was a bit wider. Our guns are aet up with .135r/.090f or .140r/.100f, I would definetly open the .125 notch on the CZC sights (or another). I looked at the CGW but I am not sure about a notch that deep.

    CZ SP01 in Limited

You may want to get a hold of Stuart at CZ Custom, he had (has?) a SP-01 Shadow set up for limited minor, I am sure he can point you in the right direction. stuart@czcustom.com I think it would be sweeter (and less research) to use a box stock M&P Pro (better factory trigger & sights than Glock) with a magwell and extended basepads and prove it that way. By sticking with the CZ he has a lot of "But" "But" excuses he can fall back on.

    CZ SP01 in Limited

Question, will you be replacing the DA/SA with SA only? Seems like a lot of effort to run a SP-01 in limited and be comparable. I think you will find more options and vendor support on building a Glock or M&P for limmited. The wife runs the M&P with the TTI base pads and they will hold 19 reloadable, 20 on mag 1 to start. Good luck and be sure to let us know how it turns out. I hear the SA trigger only with no FPB rivals the TS.
  10. I have searched but have not found much on this. What "fixed" sites are you using, how do you like them and can you post side and rear view of the sites? The sites I am looking at are the CZC Comp, CZC Tactical, CGW & Dawsons. Possibly the CZC Comp rear with Dawson Front. Thoughts and pic's would be great. Thanks

    Best TS base pads

    They work with mine http://www.brianenos.com/forums/uploads/monthly_03_2016/post-54673-0-50030000-1458190922.jpeg
  12. After reading this thread a few times the results are as follows; DA pull @ 5lbs 6oz SA @ 2lbs 5.2oz Average of 10 pulls on each. CGW SRS2 w/black spring CGW T2 disconnector CZ comp low hammer CZC TRS-new Polished everything to almost mirior finish in the frame. Have not polished the FP, FPB ot the channel yet. The gun has not been fired yet. Once it passes live fire function test I may do a bit more, but for now it is so smooth and fells great I doubt I will. I will just let all the parts seat in and enjoy it. For those that wonder as I did, the 85c triger realy does not make a noticable diffrence if the factory curve fits your finger, your money may be better utilized on other items. Another note, for me I tried the CGW TRS and it did cut the pull by about 5oz over the CZC on da, but I did not like the return on reset. I liked a lityle more tension and it felt like it was a more respnsive reset. But that is a personal feel for everyone. After the function test I am going to run a match practice stage with it as configured and one with the factory hammer cleaned up slightly and see if it is noticeable. Going to have another shoot both configurations and not tell him the changes to get his feed back. Thanks all for your involvement in this thread!!!

    Best TS base pads

Very happy with my Springer Precision pads, 20 reloadable with factory spring and follower, 21 with Grams kits, In .40, not sure what they hold 9mm wise but they could tell you.
  14. TS & SP-01 Limmited & Production, CZ Style
  15. Ever think of trying the muzzel support?
  16. Throw it in the case feeder & de prime (decaping die and lee sizing die in press only) Wet tumble Media separator FA brass dryer Load (no case lube) Repeat Every now and then I use some homebrew case lube (liquid lanolin & isopropyl alcohol). Much cleaner than One Shot or any other case lube I tried.
  17. TG is loved by the majority of people and there is load data for it everywere! Personaly, I prefer WST, Clays, Clay Dot, N320 over TG. To me in my pistols they all shoot softer than TG. I have not tried e3 yet simply because I have not found any. I am very intrested to how it feels and shoots compared to Clays & WST. Good luck and let us know how it goes.
  18. My $.02, Everyone has their favotite go to powder and projectile based on their perceived recoil and thier pistol. In the end, I recommend you try various combinations of powders & projectiles in diffrent weights to find your own per load you like. Then spring your gun to it.
  19. I use my regular to cg acme hitec's at 1.135 with no issues. I bought a 9mm and .40 at the same time,... Was hard to justify,......untill I used them for the first 100 rounds. Thats all it took to appriciate the investment! It is also great way and time to check for high primers as well!!

    CZ TS mods

I have the Springer Precision pads and Grams kit, they do not lock back. CZ followers do lock back. I put on a front FO sight w/factory rear sight (I rack with it), great combo IMO. SS Guide rod - not needed CZC Magwell Thin Grips - find what fits your hand/grip CZC Large LH Safety (BEST MOD IMO) Tuned the gun via (return spring) to my loads I have also done a grip reduction mod, but try different grips first.- you may not need or want Call it done!
  21. Thanks for the heads up, I will not buy from them unless I do not have another option. I did some clean up work and swapped in a few CGW parts and have yet to shoot it. Other than the want factor, I can wait, hopefully GC will get some soon though. Holster has already been ordered and I am eager to get a load dialed in for it and run it so I can order some sights and tune it to the load. Like a kid waiting for Christmas I'll tell ya!
