  1. I think I was having this problem with one of my guns. See the attatched photos.
  2. Here is what I have experianced. Numbers are approximates based on how many LS per mag limited gun with the Flatt Faced Trigger With #11 recoil spring, and factory striker spring, CCI primers are about 1 per 50 light strikes, 1 in 75 with WSP With Apex comp striker spring 1 in 15-20 CCI, light strike 1 per 20-30 with WSP With #13, CCI and factory striker spring about 1-2 per 100, WSP maybe 1 in 150 I swapped to a wolf plus power striker spring and in the last 3 matches (100-250) each match I have had 2 light strikes with the WSP's. One was from a deep set primer. It did take the trigger pull up from 2.25lbs to 3lbs,...but worth it IMO. With the Federal gold match primers, I was able to run the Apex comp striker spring, factory sear spring and 11lbs recoil spring in my production gun and have 100% reliability with a 2.5 lbs trigger. WSP primers were about 95% reliable. Good luck all, I will be following to see how everyone resolves their issues. I know too many people that have ditched their M&P's out of frustration with moddifications.
  3. Let me know about pin clearance. I know the SSS magwell needs some work when using our large size base pads. I have no problem with pin clearance on either the SSS ESP or Limited magwell. No modifications needed. Awesome! We've had mixed reviews. Some do, some don't.My 140mm firepower kits have no problem with the ESP magwell, but the brass limited magwell did need a little clearancing. They would seat but not drop, took about 3 minuets with a small file and to drop freely. Towards the front of the pad they "tap" the magwell when seating, but don't hinder it in any way. Now they seat and drop great!
  4. Maybe there is punctuation missing here, causing some misunderstanding of your post, but the fss is not legal in production Ampersand (&) added after trigger for clarification (above, thank you). For further clarification, Based on section 21.5 Appendix D of the rule book, Installing an Apex Forward Set Sear (FSS) is production compliant (see below), However, the Apex trigger it's self is not compliant,....the rest of the parts including the sear are. Ordering an extra trigger bar makes for an east swap if you want run limited or ESP and feel its needed. 21.5 INTERNAL parts: This clause is NOW interpreted to mean that a broad range of INTERNAL parts may be modified or replaced – either with OFM or aftermarket parts. Special Notes/Clarifications: • Strikers, sears, springs, connectors/disconnectors, and any other part which is NOT visible when the gun is in battery is considered an INTERNAL part and may be modified or replaced unless otherwise prohibited in these provisions (see section 22 for specific prohibitions).
  5. With a 130 pf load I ran a 13# spring with the TG and never had an issue. I run the same
  6. Apex FSS trigger kit with stock factory trigger spring (nice to order an extra trigger bar put the Apex trigger on it and tune each), or just order their forward set sear, USB and follow the Burrell trigger how to and tune the bar. KKM drop in barrel The factory guide rod is fine, just tune the gun to your load. (I like to switch loads so a 5" stainless uncaptured guide rod works great for me. #13 spring handles 80% of my loads. Sights of your choice, one recommendation is to start with something like a Dawson rear, check your POI and order a front to dial in your load. My minor POI with factory Novak rear, I ended up a .170h front. Grip tape Springer base pads with aluminum plates Keep stock or even extra power striker spring!!!! Wolf extra power mag springs That's about all I can think of for now.
  7. These fit perfect with the SSS esp maxwell. Just order the magwell ones and the alum baseplate so.
  8. What data are you guys using to make major PF? Prjectile OAL How many grains of WST What PF Thanks!
  9. SSS 5" only uncaptured tungsten guide rod and stock ss guiderod and spring.
  10. FF3 3moa on mine. You realy can't co witnesses with it that well just the top of rear sight is visible, however if you use the white line on the back of the FF for alignment and lollipop the dot with the front sight it works well.
  11. His machine did not auto calculate them so we did a few by hand. The best was the 155 With 4.2 grains, even with mixed brass it was high teens. The others were in the mid to high 20's. 180's had the highest.
  12. 1.130-1.138 depending on bullet and powder. I often set it for 1.132 that way if there is any variance 1.130-1.135 there is little to no change or loss in relabuility. Works with M&P and Glock 35 with OEM and KKM barrels. My EGW case guage has not failed me yet.
  13. Typicaly I have seen .04 -.05 for processed,.... Usually around .05 for 2000 or less.
  14. I would install the Forward Set Sear also. Without it I can say if you will notice a true benefit.
  15. 3.0 WST @ 1.130 only made 115 pf on a 80* day, going to 3.2 & 3.4 @ 1.140 next
  16. Gun: M&P Pro with KKM drop in OAL 1.130 Temp 80* Powder WST Winchester Small Pistol Primers Mixed Brass Thursday I ran a few ladders Powder weight | Average Velocity | Power Factor 4.0 | 870 | 134 4.2 | 920 | 142 4.4 | 952 | 148 ______________________ 180's 3.5 | 812 | 146 3.7 | 828 | 149 4.0 | 843 | 151 _______________________ 200's 3.0 | 578 | 115 3.2 | 652 | 130 3.4 | 725 | 145
  17. Sheep dog, I bring a back up gun too, some people don't think that is practical so i just left that out to avoid the argument. Since I put KKK dropins in all my guns, i just left one of the oem barrels in my bag. The thought was if I get a squib,... Its fadter and less hassle than getting a alt gun aporoved. The mental mf of changing/blaming the gun is gone. I will check with my smith to see if he knows why of if it is just basef on practical experience with them. I can say that two of the guys I shoot and/or squad with shoot about 700-1000 a month with their M&P's. January and February they were having gun problems. One was a dirty striker channel, one a triger return spring, another guy was having a dead trigger due to the loop in the trigger bar was out of adjustment. I was having a hell of a time with Light strikes using the Reduced power striker spring, only fedrals were reliable, put in a factory one and no more light strikes even with CCI's. My next issue was FTF, even though my PF was the same on my 200,180 &155 loads, the 180's and some 155's would not cycle the slide back and ling enough to pick up around about every 20-50th round yet the 200's at the same power factor were perfect. Droped the recording l spring a pound and they were fine. But mentaly I was not comfortable with a 12lbs spring and a stock striker spring, bumped up my pf 2-4 points or use a slower powder and now the 13 and even the 15lbs spring work great and the gun functions perfect. I guess my point is there are so many things people do to tune their gun to reliably run their loads, it is hard to put a boiler plate solution on it. Some may change loads and not make any adjustments to their gun because "it works" but they may be under sprung and hammering parts unknowingly as well.
  18. Have you read and finished all the Burwell Trigger job steps?. I would then start with the Apex Compition spring kit Apex Competition Striker Spring Apex Competition Sear Spring 1/8" Apex Competition Trigger Return Spring Apex Aluminum Slave Pin (assists with installation of trigger return spring) If your not comfortable messing with the Striker block and Sear and want more,I use the following Apex parts Forward Set Sear (not the fully machined sear) ultimate Striker block.follow the apex a video for turning your trigger bar, hopefully you have the H stamped version
  19. I have the BT black ice for m&p and the Safariland 5198 for my glocks. I just orderd another 5198 for the M&P. The boss hanger and 5197/5198 holsters works great (adapter may be required) and reasonably priced! Side note,... The 5198 kits have the belt loop and paddle. Despite what people say about paddles, the molded larger than average paddle works great and comfortable. When put on correctly, I have never had it come close to pulling out. The Fobus,... Yes, never the Safariland Model 5197 Open Top Concealment Belt Loop Holster with Detent Model 5197 | SKU 1153386 | Part 5197-819-411
  20. Not sure on the BT's, I do know the Safariland 773 & 771 work with Glock & M&P's
  21. I have used Apex parts from the FSS kits and keept the sock triger itself in place.People are shocked how they feel for production legal triggers. Range is between 2.5-3.5lbs depending on striker spring needed (to prevent lite strikes). Reduced power striker springs got it to 2.5-2.75lbs trigger pull but required fedral primers for reliability. I am experimenting with stock striker spring and CCI's now. I have not measured the pull, im guessing 3.75-4. I started with the Apex USB, spring, polishing the typical parts & peices,..the fss and tuning the trigger bar with stock triger spring. Works like a dream! Good luck!
