yeah, that's good advice. PCC is full speed open shooting with more controllability.

Two eyes, see everything happening around you like when you are walking, playing other sports, etc. You'll need that!

Support index finger in front of trigger guard?
bigcalidave replied to ES13Raven's topic in Handgun Techniques
What's the point, you can't physically defeat the gun. Let recoil happen, as quoted from ron earlier. If we can shoot fast while letting the gun move, why do something awkward to prevent it. If your hands are bigger than the gun and that's the only place your fingers go, sure. -
How to spin MGM vertical dual target ("spinner")
bigcalidave replied to NicVerAZ's topic in Handgun Techniques
huzzah! With the right load you just smack it once and keep moving I'd like to see more 150-200y rifle spinners. -
I need more belt pouches!

I haven't seen one that will pick up a dry fire well. If you just want par beeps, use the phone app and headphones.

Don't do this to yourself. It's a terrible sight. ]

Has anyone traveled on Allegiant?
bigcalidave replied to NicVerAZ's topic in Travel, Locations, Ranges, etc.
By the time you add all the fees to check bags it might not be worth the hassle. I fly them occasionally, and have had a few pretty horrific experiences, but I only take them if I'm bringing a backpack and no other luggage. -
Got to shoot a .40 limited the other day and I'm very impressed. Dead accurate and great trigger, very tight fit. Can't wait to find a 9!

Favorite loads for 77s 1-8 twist
bigcalidave replied to openclassterror's topic in Rifle - Technical
Why would i send it back. Gun shoots sub MOA with other ammo. Just didn't like these at all. I just won't shoot this load. -
MOA uses Nordic tubes. I think it's a combination of the spring not seating correctly in the follower due to my poor job of bending the springs in and down as well as the tube loosening/backing out enough under fire to create a big enough gap for the spring to catch. A little heat on the end coil and press flar on a scrap of wood let cool. ?? Why. Bend with pliers. You just need to get the end bent in and down so it doesn't try to catch anything. Don't heat springs, even just the end.

Thanks!

Need a print for this, I was wondering the same thing, don't have another 2011 frame with optic mount holes to measure.

Thanks for the update. Keep hiring more people, after playing with these models at SHOT you have a real hit on your hands.

Favorite loads for 77s 1-8 twist

69 yes, I think I tried 75s but the group wasn't great. These were just terrible though, and tumbling. -

Very strange experience with Toms loading yesterday. His barrel is a noveske 18" 1-8 and the 77gr loads he worked up were grouping fairly well for a start. I tried a few in my rifle, 18" black hole 1-8, and all the shots were keyholed bad at 100y. I can shoot xm193 and other 55gr sub moa, but the 77s were a complete failure. -
My CMC flat has been excellent out of the box, and it seems to go against the grain of a lot of reviews but I like it more than the AR gold I have on the backup now. The reset is excellent on the CMC. Only problem I had with the flat trigger is that you can't run an extended bolt catch like the BAD. I took one and chopped off the bar that goes through the trigger guard. Might go to a curved trigger on the next one just to keep that feature.

Shotmax can you turn it off completely ?
bigcalidave replied to ipscjoe's topic in Gear & Accessories
Nope, but not using it for anything but a watch (or an ugly clock sitting in a bag) it lasts a loooong time before charging. -
So many guns coming out direct from the manufacturer cut for a slide mount RDS. It has to happen eventually
-
A gunsmith should do it for you unless you own an AR pistol or registered SBR. There are constructive possession laws that can come into play if you own an NFA length barrel and no legal gun to put it on.

What trijicon sight can you get for $200??
-
Thanks!

It will be fine. You can stake it back in if you want, but it shouldn't be a problem
-
Just oil, any oil. Whatever you will remember to use. I never remember, so I'm cerakoting all my barrels and not worrying about it
