  1. Only difference is the amount of water contained in it, which slows the evaporation of the alcohol. Links to Amazon http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00BWYM006/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00028MLKC/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 There are other suppliers on Amazon, with the prime membership(son and his wife have it). They can add others on their list of people that can use it. 2 day free shipping is great. Instead of driving all over, it isn't easy to find even in a major metro area. As is the amazing lack of reloading equipment for sale. As with others have said shake to mix well. Since there is no emulsifier mixed in it does separate fast. I have tried heating the mix, and running it in a heated bath of the ultra sonic cleaner. Didn't really notice much difference in the length of time till it separated. And for all your plastic needs in a wide assortment of items. http://www.usplastic.com/default.aspx Great selection and great service, been dealing with them for 35 years. spray bottles and sprayers in all sizes.
  2. I don't think he has any affiliation other than a customer since he lives near me. They also have pistol brass I know nothing about the pistol brass
  3. Here is xtremes bullet load info page not much but it is there starting info.http://www.xtremebullets.com/Bullet-Load-Info-s/1952.htm

  5. I was going to ask if anybody knew what the conversion was for CFE223/CFEpistol. But I was on the LEE web site so I called and they gave me directions to Their recently updated Precision powder VMD (7/16/2014) and the formula to figure out the Volume CC dipper VOLUME CC=VMD*CHARGE IN GRAINS It is under instructions header at the top of the page, under Powder Handling, scroll down 3rd from the bottom It is a PDF free download and is list of around 171 powders VDM's Printed it out and will be laminating it for use at the bench. The slide chart was last updated in 2012, He said they didn't know when it would be updated but he hoped it would be soon.
  6. Well I'm not big on clean primer pockets. If they are still black or curd caked after the shell tumble I hit them with the brush. I all use a .22 barrel cleaning brush in one hole and since most are just getting a slight chamfer on the inside of the neck. Unless trimming I will use the lee hand tool. I think that is what that one is RCBS bought it with some other items and can't remember what brand it is. I only hit it for two or so twists of the wrist. I don't think it takes much brass off. It is a well built unit for the money. I got it on sale @ Midway. And so far all brands of the chamfer bits and cleaning brushes fit the threaded shafts 8-24 if I remember correctly. What nice is you can use it in almost any orientation. So when the hand gets tired you can move it or turn it a different way, not to mention the adjustable stand feet. Adjusting the trimming is pretty easy if you follow the directions. I do use my WFT in a drill press if I have hundreds to trim. I only shot 5.56/223's in the bottle neck cases so I don't have to change the trimmer on the FA. On the flat blade ones for small and large pockets I found that with it turning i had to slow up and watch the target of the pocket. The brush is so much easier to use.
  7. Here is some more on the Franklin set up. Just did about 300 cases today, mostly 5.56's For crimp removal I use a 1/4'drill bit or counter sink in a drill press and just hold it up to the drill and knock the crimp off. it is about the fast way I found with out buying any other equipment. http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=198945#entry2210281 I use a gauge and electronic calipers and don't trim every one just the ones that need it.

  9. Check the boxes of assorted hardware in the same isle that has the nuts, bolts they should have boxes with a couple of different styles. In any of the bog box stores.
  10. Local commercial reloader, Macomb county Mi area (us trolls since we live under the bridge) Rather than the youpper! He has a rental bay in a strip shop building, a number of full and part time employees, a large number of Dillon's running at top speed it sounds like, when I have been there over 12 units. He sells to gun shops and does gun shows. I know nothing about his business other than his expenses are higher than what freak is talking about. And he seems to be getting a good return. As they are buying primers by the standard wood pallet load. And that is probably north of 7 figures of primers. So it can be done
  11. Here are removed crimps with a drill bit and multi flute counter sink These are the 5.56mm/.223's military range pick ups.
  12. This is a photo of some crimps before being removed. They can be any variation of a ring etc.also some have a red or green adhesive around the primer to help hold it in. Some use a drill bit/small counter sink in a drill driver to break the edge of the crimp. I have mine in a drill press when I am trimming and processing mine. It appears that I don't have any photo's of casings with the crimp removed. This is what you want to avoid, as it came in a bag of range pick ups I bought!
  13. If they are magnetic they will rust, With the stainless steel pins that is just a fact of life. That problem has plagued jewelery makers for years. The suggested way is to clean the pins after use and place them in just enough water to cover. there shouldn't be a problem.
  14. Missed going to the range last week, but made it today. Here what they have on the shelf @ Brown Bear sporting goods in Macomb county Michigan bottom is 700X 8 pounders, 600x in the 1 pounders
  15. The temps for annealing brass depending on the alloy are above 700°F, drying in an average oven at lower temps does no harm to the brass.
  16. No you want to use Acetone! it will display the moisture and then you remove the casings and spread out on a towel or newspaper to dry (acetone will evaporate quickly) and your done. The easiest way is have two of the same style Glass Jars never use plastic as it is a plastic solvent. Place the casings into a white sock, dip the the sock into the the jar with acetone to cover a couple times, then spread out on towel or newspaper. The acetone will not leave any residue behind as mineral spirits or other oil based solvents will. The acetone trick is an old sign painters and metal arts patina prep trick!
  17. Since it appears that it is an overpriced rebadged food dehydrator. Wood thing that if you get one of the $30.00 toaster oven Aldi's has on sale every couple of months you could make a couple of wire screen basket shelves and even if it was on a low heat, say that the temp was around 150°F you could dry the casing inside and out a lot faster. Since the food dehydrators are made to be a slow drying process. You want to remove the water and still not cook the food.
  18. It appears to be a food dryer, I would think that crammed with as much brass as in the picture would take a long time to dry out. Being the product is new just coming out in June I would wait a couple more months and ask again. Or you can buy this. http://www.harborfreight.com/http-www-harborfreight-com-5-tier-food-dehydrator-66906-html.html and here is a link to a 25% off coupon. http://slickdeals.net/f/1276399-harbor-freight-coupon-thread Scroll down to towards the bottom of the page for pics/PDF's of the coupons. If they don't show the coupon pic's check the attached thumb nails PDF the 25% off is multiple copies on one page. Will bring the price down to under $20.00
  19. I have mine in a floor drill press, holding the battery drill gets old fast. If you have any issues with your hands or wrists. I have used it for about 1,200 cases. I prefer using it to my Franklin trimmer for the trimming I like the Franklin for all the other steps. I am new to reloading and some may say I don't know any better, but like mine. My hand cramps up faster when I do use the Franklin for trimming although it does a good job after setting up. I am doing 5.56/.223 have no knowledge of the Giraud.
  20. Here is the Local gunshop/range in Macomb county, Michigan. Brown Bear sporting goods powder shelf yesterday afternoon. With all the talk of unique for a pistol powder I bought a pounder to try it.
  21. Here are some leads, for truck tire and large bucket tumblers mostly for rocks but can work for casing. http://www.miim.com/thebside/tumbler/ http://mbyers.net/scienceclub/b1a1rocktumbler.html this one replaced the largest thumlers tumbler. http://www.scribd.com/doc/26632626/A-Fifty-Pound-Truck-Tire-Rock-Tumbler-Specifications-and-Experiences the math behind the sizes. etc. http://www.acc.umu.se/~widmark/lwtrumle.html Plus you can always page thru the photos for tire rock tumblers on google should be enough to give you ideas.
  22. Well after about 400 cases run through with the frankford prep unit I can say that I am very happy with it. Just using the in/out chamfer bits is a great time saver. I have tried it in the upright and two of the angled foot positions. I can say that I prefer to use my WFT in the drill press next to the bench. Even with the trimmer head set up to the correct length. So far I haven't found the right set up that is comfortable for me to use just yet. With the other bits set up in the head, it is a lot better than using a couple of battery drill motors. That got old real fast since the battery drills don't have hold buttons on the triggers. The other good thing is you get the casing done a lot fast than with separate operations.
  23. I use an old dish pan, they fit inside and a couple of shakes and most litter falls through. Put the second one on and flip a couple times to empty out the casings. No dust since I use the nu finish polish, When my hands and fingers are acting up I use two small spring clamps. one on each handle. So far this arrangement has worked out for me, No mess, no fussing with water or pins. I only need the casing clean to handle and inspect them but since I leave them in for about 4 hours the come out shinny enough for me. Casing, my old strainers and the dish pan! Photo is an old one when I was still using dryer sheets, and really dirty range casings
  24. The water with the pins, comes from the jewelry industry use of the SS pins, but it isn't to clean the items you add water and a lubricating soap to the tumbler so everything will tumble and every side and nook and cranny gets pinned which with silver will harden the item slightly.
