  1. I use 23.2 grains XBR 8208 with 69 and 77 grain SMKs. Both loads hammer in my WOA service rifle.
  2. This is the one I use for a G43, I like it a lot. https://www.cooksholsters.com/tuckable-iwb-holster/
  3. The small crew that runs the monthly match I shoot should be getting paid. I'm not a member of the club, have no idea how the finances work.
  4. I could agree with the ringing part but then you have deaf ROs. What I have found aggravating in the past is somebody finding a gray speck on the edge, that looks like it could be a gnat turd, and trying to argue it was a hit. Zack should come up with an integrated scoring system. Wire the targets to record hits, timer automatically puts the time into practiscore while accounting for misses.
  5. Transit is the word you are looking for. : ) Target height could be set very close with a $20 hand held sight level if the operator was properly trained in it's use.
  6. I think an unambiguous hit to the front of the target should be required. If it requires arguing it is a miss. Maybe.
  7. If you want the rules to be consistent then we should require the same power factor in steel challenge. Also, get rid of the rimfires. To be clear; I think the holster rules are stupid in both sports.
  8. Cool, we have enough room for the full stages but those would be nice on 98 degree days and fun to shoot.
  9. Require two relays to win the division, aggregate of 16 stages with the same gun. That might actually get more entries.
  10. I don't think so. I shoot production (with a Glock) in a holster that would be single stack legal. I don't think a DOH holster offers the same advantage in steel challenge as it does in USPSA since you always draw from the surrender position. You could spend the next two weeks reading and not get through all the discussion, debate, arguing, and whining about holster placement for various divisions and sports. It seems like it would be a lot simpler to just let competitors put their holster however they want it.
  11. Exactly. Magazine capacity doesn't matter and power factor is not in play which are reasons to have the separate divisions in USPSA. Especially since rimfire seems to be "taking over" steel challenge it doesn't seem like a good idea to have more than iron and optic divisions. Plus maybe revolver.
  12. That is an excellent point that I hadn't considered. A guy shooting an out of the box Ruger or Buckmark competes in the same division as the guys with all the fancy go fast parts.
  13. This is what I think it should be. That and put your holster wherever and however you want.
  14. If you like to fish you could get an inshore charter while your wife shops. Or take her with you. It's been quite a few years since we have been but for restaurants check out current reviews for Columbia, and Osteen's.
  15. Good luck with the recovery.
  16. Interesting stuff. I'm right handed and have to squint my right eye to shoot. It still feels better somehow transitioning left to right but maybe I should practice more going right to left.
  17. Why is the fee $80 more to shoot centerfire pistol?
  18. Maybe Zach will weigh in on how many clubs there are that normally shoot all eight stages at the monthly/weekly match. We shoot six. I can think of a couple others that only shoot five. In regards to your comparison of Pendulum with Outer Limits. I see a lot more people shooting their gun empty on Outer Limits than on Pendulum. I also want to say that much of the discussion on this thread seems to be coming at it from the dot sighted rifle perspective. C class shooters find the 20 and 35 yard targets pretty challenging with an iron sighted pistol.
  19. Remember those tests in school where you had to choose "which one of these things is not like the other things"? That to me is Outer Limits. It offends my sense of symetry.
  20. 1.5 seconds seems about right to me. Peak time Speed Option 13.5/4=3.38 Peak time Outer Limits 14.5/3= 4.83 4.83-3.38=1.45
  21. Can you take the 1.5 second penalty if your only handicap is being old and fat? I have said here before that I would like the movement on Outer Limits to be eliminated entirely. If that is unacceptable I would like to see all competitors have the option to take a penalty and shoot from the center box. I would like to eliminate the movement and shoot five strings, like all the other stages.
  22. It will be interesting to see how the new classification system treats production and limited.
  23. I would prefer to only have two centerfire pistol divisions. Iron sight and optical. I would limit both to ten rounds only.
  24. I've probably already said this earlier but my 45 load is a Nosler or Zero 185 grain JHP with 4.5 grains of N310. They don't eject nearly hard enough to get back to my face. : ) I keep it very clean and lube more than recommended by Glock, with Mobil 1.
  25. Congratulations on achieving GSSF Master. Trouble is, now you have to beat Dover and those guys to get paid.
