    New CZ questions

CZ's aren't as scary as they seem. Try it on your own first and see how it turns out. Stick to 600 grit or finer sand paper. Also CZ's have some pretty deep tool marks on certain parts so don't try to remove them completely, it may throw off the timing of the gun. If you follow Atlas's guide you should end up with a very nice trigger.
  2. Yeah, I have one on my SP 01. No issues in IDPA.
  3. According to CZ the SP 01 barrel is 4.7", and the Aussie barrel is 4.92", I measured my SP 01 barrel and it is 4.5". I haven't handled an Aussie barrel so I can't confirm the exact length, but I assume it is exadurated as well. The TS clames to have a 5.4" barrel, mine measures 5.1". I guess like most men CZ like to exadurate a little on their barrel length.
  4. I get the finer sand paper at auto parts stores.

    Home Brewed CTS

    Looks great, nice build.
  6. Is the comp steel, or aluminum?
  7. Very nice. Makes me want one.
  8. I copied this DRO setup for my Harbor Freight X2. http://www.cncguns.com/forum/index.php?topic=1471.0
  9. I just checked my SP 01 and it does the same thing, the trigger bar is engaging the sear even with the slide back to the takedown marks. Around .180" out of battery. My TS isn't as bad, it engages the sear around .100" out of battery. My SP 01 has always run 100%
  10. Yeah longer sight radius is always better, but I don't see how you could mount a sight at the rear with the LPA cut.
  11. Well the only reason for me to mill the slide and direct mount the Deltapoint would be to co-witness irons or the ability to use irons if I have a dead battery on the RDS and not necessarily co-witnessing. It looks like it has room for a rear suppressor iron sight with the Deltapoint in front of it on the Tactical Sports slide. Otherwise if I want to retain the LPA dovetail, I could wait for your mount. Could it be designed to be as low profile as possible and set back to the rear. The comp hammer is already low and won't interfere with the adapter set further to the rear. You could mount a rear sight in front of the red dot like in the picture.

    Cz Extended Barrel?

Just received an email from CZ USA confirming that this is an Aussie barrel.

    Cz Extended Barrel?

Not sure about the ramp but the area where the guide rod contacts the barrel is roughly .020" thicker on a TS barrel than a standard barrel.

    Cz Extended Barrel?

I think you right. I also found that CZC calls their Aussie barrel an "extended barrel". So looks like an Aussie barrel to me. http://czcustom.com/cz75sp01barrel9mm4925ext.aspx
  15. Yes, that one would fix it! Where can I get it? You could grind the pin off of the factory plug.

    Cz Extended Barrel?

Here is a screen shot for anyone outside the US. I sent CZ USA an email, just waiting to hear back on the specs.

    Cz Extended Barrel?

Does anyone know what the story is with these barrels, it doesn't show any dimensions? Is this an Aussie Barrel? Thanks, Chase http://shop.cz-usa.com/ProductDetail/0420049447_Extended-Barrel-For-Sp01-9mm-Only
  18. I really dislike the shadow safeties, they are to low. The SP 01 thin safeties work great.
  19. This is for a standard SP 01, but all of the parts related to the disco are the same for a shadow. http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=191773&page=1
  20. - What to begind with when doing grip reduction- FRONT or rear ? I did the rear of mine first but it doesn't matter which one you do first, I just picked one. - Did you use a file to remove the original checkering or did you use a mill machine ( moving round stone)? I used a bastard file, round file, dremel with a sanding drum, and sand paper to remove the factory checkering. - How did you do the undercut for beaver tail and under the trigger guard? File? You can use a round file and a dremel with a sanding drum to do both. On mine I undercut the trigger guard on my milling machine with a 1/2" end mill and cleaned it up with a file and dremel.

  22. The old style 85c trigger has the longest reach and is production legal.
  23. A couple of years ago I fit one of the CZ SA triggers to work double action on my SP 01, really just to see if it would work. Shot a couple local matches with it and it worked fine, but put it back because it wasn't legal.
  24. Just an FYI if you use a TS barrel in a Standard 75 frame you will need to machine some material off of the lower lug where the guide rod sits for it to lock up properly.
  25. Any plans for a CZ version of your comp to go with that red dot mount? Thanks, Chase
