  1. Use the no tell motels in the seedy parts of town that rent by the hour. I would get kicked off the forum if I told you about the best single stay ever at one of those. Seriously, I spend a lot of time on the road for work and the Hilton chains are pretty good. Get the HHHonors perks and you get free nights, rental car cheaper, etc. You get a decent free breakfast at most of them but they can be a little pricey. When I pay for it myself and go to a match without family I go cheap. If I can pull the camper, I do, otherwise its motel 6 or 8 or whatever is 30 bucks a night.
  2. $149 at the Sportsmans Den in Shelby, Ohio. It was last October though.
  3. Your friend likes to waste his money. Used brass, Udie and factory crimp die is all that is needed for good ammo. I do like nickel cases, they look real neat with a blue bullet loaded in them, but I would not pay for them.
  4. Do it, filing the paperwork for out of state is easy. Besides, running a pistol caliber SBR suppressed is too much fun. It almost gets "hollywood" quiet with subsonic rounds. Too bad you can't run them suppressed in competition.
  5. Looks shoulder fired to me. Even if it wasnt touching the shoulder. The ATF has ruled that the SIG brace is legal if used as intended. Meaning stick your arm through brace and use it as intended. "Cheeking" an arm brace is not using it as intended. Pony up your $200 if you want a SBR.
  6. Mmmmmmmmm pizza!!!!!! V1911 nailed it.
  7. TTI all the way!!! I must own 30 different basepads from AR15, M&P and STI (Para). Easy on, easy off and always fit the gauge with max capacity.
  8. *thumb rest [generic]* I had to try it to believe it. Gas peddal!!!! Poor spelling gets around it.
  9. DAA all the way. Ghost is just too brittle in the long run. Your experience may vary.
  10. Derp? Like starting facing up range with a rifle in your hands? No way no how am I even shooting a match that does something that friggin stupid! C'mon Sarge, think about it. No different than starting facing uprange with a loaded holstered pistol. A shooter can draw early sweeping the squad just as easily as someone can raise a rifle early sweeping the squad. It all comes down to safe gun handling. I have seen many more 180 breaks with pistols at USPSA matches than I have seen with rifles at 3gun matches. In fact, most of the 180 DQ's I have seen at 3gun matches have been with the pistol. Pistols are so much lighter and easier to move around than long guns.
  11. Wow, this thread is full of derp. FYI, for everyone, don't be afraid of something new. Try it before you dismiss it. Ignorance is truly bliss If you are not willing to try something before condemning it. For those clubs which have tried it, how did it work out? Did you have to redesign your pistol stages to accomodate the rifles? I bet not, that is not the point of PCC. Just shoot a pistol caliber caliber carbine on your existing pistol stages. If you have not tried it then you truly have no experience , sure you can have opinions, but there is no experience to back it up. I will be willing to bet that this will be a provisional division at the next BOD meeting and will be much more popular than carry optics in a short time period as long as the BOD dont screw it up by neutering the division like they did with CO. CO got a boost by revising the rules but they stuck with the 10rd limit, very bad decision in my opinion. Who carries a fill size pistol with an optic and only 10 rounds? A 141.25mm mag makes much more sense. But I digress. You may not agree with me, but until you run PCC as part of a pistol match you are just guessing if it will work. Try it first, then report your experiences if it will or won't work. My guess it will be seamless to integrate as I have experienced. Rules took all of 5 minutes to come up with to integrate the carbines into a pistol match. Holster start? Low ready. Table start? Table start. Uprange? Low ready facing uprange and turn keeping muzzle within a 3' circle around the shooter. Classifiers, add a sentence for PCC. It is really simple.
  12. "Grip zone", the workers in Croatia must think Americans are stupid by having to be told where to grip the pistol. SA needs to pull their head out of their butt and remove that crap.
  13. Taylor Tactical, Inc. is the company (TTI) . They have STI/SVI basepads in sizes 3G, 4G, and 7G. Their 7G basepads work on a SPS 140mm magazine to make a legal 141.25mm magazine for USPSA or 3gun.
  14. Turbo, you are going about it all wrong. Contribute to the forums and you can post in the classifieds. Easy as that.
  15. Seems to be at the top of the "Reloading FAQ's" section. As far as I can tell everything is there.
  16. The ball handle makes my hand numb on my 550 after a 100. Which roller handle is better than the other? Dillon or Inline Fabrication? This inquiring mind wants to know.
  17. Jtrump, you're chronograph readings seem fast to me . My load is a 180gr coated bullet with 5.0gr W231 at 1.160". I get 169pf out of my Para 5" and 166pf out of my M&P 5".
  18. NOT A GOOD LINK, DO NOT CLICK. I got a virus on my tablet of all things. Please link to SPS' s website.
  19. The SPS mags have been working great for me. I only have a couple hundred rounds on my 9mm mags, but my 40 mags have seen a couple thousand rounds for the last 6 months. They just work and work without issue. I am very happy with the SPS and TTI combination. The SPS springs and followers have worked well for me.
  20. My 40 load is 5.0gr W231 with 180gr Acme or BBI at 1.160" length. I average 169pf with this load out of a Para Pro Custom 5" and average 166pf out of an M&P Pro 5". Loading at the longer length will require more powder. If you are loading at 1.180" I would start at 4.8gr and work up from there.
  21. Really? A 13lb spring in a major power factor .40 Glock. That's a light spring for minor 9 mm Glocks. I would just put in a stock Glock .40 spring (whatever that is) and run it. The .40 Glocks are fairly snappy as is and they don't hold up like the 9s. Yep, 13lbs is what I run in my 9's and 40's. It allows the slide to close without the dip. Different people will prefer different spring rates depending on their grip and recoil control. I would go lower if I could, but I run into return to battery issues.
  22. You may have worn out your 15lb spring since you were using the heavy loads. Once you find a reasonable load, stick a 13lb spring in and you should be good to go.
  23. Over the past week I have loaded up about 1500 rds using S&B primers. Cabelas is local to me so 18.99 per 1000 is very appealing. The primers loaded nice, much better than Winchesters, about the same as CCI. Slipped in without much effort. Winchesters have always loaded rough for me (I think they are out of round). I have not shot any, just building up winter stock., but they feel pretty soft when seating. I run 19lb, springs in my Paras and stock springs in the M&P's. I never have problems lighting off primers. Based on reloading I would recommend them. Tomorrow I will be heading to Cabelas to pick up another couple of cases.
