Hello: Looking to build another 3 gun upper. I was wondering what barrels you guys have tried that have given you good groups with the cheaper 55 fmj stuff. (American Eagle, XM193, etc) I don't have time to hand load stuff (work and family) and I cannot afford to buy the really good stuff (Just a lonely Sergeant with a Sheriff's Office). So I can only get decent 55 fmj. I am not looking for sub MOA but hitting MGM flashers out at 400 yards is a must. Thanks for the replies. Adam

I have to say after trying different comp I use the Miculek Comp. It is just as good as the others for a fraction of the price. Plus you can try to modify it yourself for that price as well.

What ammo were you using.

Looking at getting a 18" barrel. Deciding between Odin or Nordic. Any comments? Thanks, Adam

I changed out the gas rings on my Rubber City Armory bolt and it still does not go completely into battery. Change back to a regular buffer and it works fine. I guess the LW buffer is just not for me.

I figured it is the carrier, not the Taccom UL buffer.

To the individuals looking to run the UL with a RCA lightweight carrier. I have had trouble with the bolt not locking back all the way in battery and getting light hits on the primer every 2 rounds. Switched back to the regular buffer and it worked fine. Just a heads up. Adam

I was going through the internet and ran into Red X Titanium carrier. Anyone have any experience with these? It is lighter then my RCA low mass carrier. Thanks, Adam

I was also bringing up that he needs to think about bringing out one that has 2 or 3 plates for 3 gun rifle so you can really tune your rifle. Adam

The difference between my working AR (LEO) and Competition AR is an follows: - Barrel Length: Working 16" and Competition 18" - Bolt: Working: I run a full mass bolt carrier group without an adjustable gas system / Competition: LMOS bolt and adjustable gas - I have never had my adjustable gas system change, but I don't want Mr. Murphy stepping in and prefer a little more gas for total reliability. - Trigger: Slightly heavier trigger on my working gun, both are single stage. - Optical Sights: Working: Aimpoint Comp ML4 with Troy flip up back up sights Competition: Leupold Prismatic w/o iron sights (Limited) - Compensator: Both guns have the Surefire MB556K muzzle brake Lower: All parts (bad lever, mag buttons, etc are the same on both) Lights: working gun has a TLR-1 LED were the competition gun has nothing. Basically the working gun kicks a little bit more because of the increase gas but I can run the working gun very fast. Adam

I have a drill. Set targets at 10, 15, and 30 yards in a diagonal. You can shoot them standing..moving forward, backward, left, right, etc. I place a 3 gun nation target on a uspsa target so I can practice my doubles and then do a round making single head shots.

How does Jerry's muzzle brake compare to a surefire comp? I am looking to see if there are better alternatives to the MB556K I have. Thanks, Adam

Hello: I have a question for all of you that have a Beretta 1301. The loading gate has a very stiff spring pushing the gate back out which sometimes just pushes my shells high enough to hit the bottom of the tube when loading. Is there a way to lessen the tension on that spring without sacrificing reliability? Thanks, adam
