Sorry to bump an old thread. I've got a ton of 40 cases that I need to bulge bust before forming into 357 sig. Is a U die going to do the same job in my 1050 or should I get a bulge buster or GRX die and a single stage?

I've had STI ones with no problems. They are easy to seat unlike some 10 round 1911 mags.

I had a crack at production on the weekend too. Had 2 mikes off the double action and fell on my face halfway through.

They sit at a similar height if you have a strong mount on the 650. Mine went in the same spot without adjusting the height of anything just fine. The case feeder ends up lower though.

My replay xd mini mounts on my muffs and doesn't get in the way.

Is it much harder to seat the loaded mag?

You can use 40 brass for sig.

They are easy to get in and out.

My used 1050s were both cheaper than my new 650 + accessories not including the bullet feeder.

Bullet feeder then upgrading from a 650 to 1050.

What caused the fail to fires? were the primers hit? Doesn't sound like something that should happen on a new gun.

Yeah I'm sorta worried about paying over $100 to get a new one delivered if it's not going to fix it. It's an aluminium cmore too. Any filing i do will look bad. Id rather invest in a new gun than pay a smith to flat top it. Aussie gunsmiths are not cheap. Small problem, expensive fix.

If it's a 1050 the literature says to anchor the spring on the powder measure with an elastic band which helps but doesn't fully eliminate them. I noticed in an autodrive video that one of the guys had put an elastic band from just above the bullet dropper brass section down to his seating die which pulls it down. I gave this a go and I didn't have a single double drop in the 4000 rounds I loaded last week. A+

Thanks, his website only lists USA as a location in the checkout process. I'm sure I've tried to buy from him before and had to go through shooters connection.

I got the new primer slide when ordering a normal primer slide a few months ago. They should all be switched over now.
