  1. Please excuse my ignorance with the Tanfoglio line. Is this the Tanfoglio being compared to the Czechmate? EAA / Tanfoglio Witness Gold Custom Xtreme Open Race Gun - 9mm
  2. I have the 2019 version of the Czechmate as STI would not accept my order for a DVC Open 9mm...runs 100% out of the box...seems to be 4 sources of parts...already did a test order on springs from Cz Usa...received them via Fedex and those that were back ordered showed up not long after that and Fedex'd to me with free shipping...plan to try ordering from Cz Custom and Cajun to. The manual does recommend changing the slidestop every 3,000 rounds. I'll follow the directions and see how it goes. It came with a recoil spring that tested at 10lbs but Cz recommends a 13lb so I changed it to keep everything OEM for now. All I can say is I love shooting it. If it cracks like a STI so be it...
  3. Never had a problem with wet tumbling over 20 years now. Started with the RCBS Rotary Sidewinder then switching to the Extreme Rebel 17 and stainless pins four years ago. With deprimed brass I let them lay on the side on a towel for 48 hours. With primer still in the 5 to 6 days.
  4. Mine didn't come with a powder check die so I added that.
  5. I have the RL 1050 and I believe it has a shorter stroke of the toolhead than the Super. Both have the sm/lg primer feature but the Super system is somewhat different I hear. The new 1100 is allegedly going back to the RL1050 style primer system. Some parts of the Super don't work on the RL. However, I've never had any trouble finding parts for the RL but never needed many either. I would guess you would be happy with any the three models.
  6. I'm testing AA#7 in my Czechmate with Acme 115 RN new version. Worked up to 9.8 grs. at 1.155" so far with no problem signs and a SD of 6.8. On my old Pact Professional chrono I'm at 170 pf but on my Chrony it's 178 pf. Got a couple fellow shooters with chronos to see what velocity they show. With my borescope I see some incompletely burned powder but not very much. So far that hasn't resulted in any problem that I can identify.
  7. If you have access to reloading slower burning powders would get better results from the comp...I'm assuming the factory loads just don't produce enough gas...
  8. My Calvin Elite has seen 10,000+ of 9mm in my PCC. It also has a couple thousand rounds in my AR15 where it was initially. I moved it out of the AR15 as I got the Triggertech Diamond AR for it. No problemo with the CE in either gun.
  9. Update...Dec 11th... Received 3 of the 5 I ordered - Part No. 10911291 today. They had a 20% off special which they stated but didn't honor. Charged $9.06 shipping that took 2 weeks. Could have shipped small flat rate box for nearly half that and would have been here in 3 days. Anyway, the spring tester shows these as 12lbs. Czechmate came with 10lb, these are 12lb and CZ-USA claims it should be 16lb...??? Not sure why the big mystery on springs...guess I'll give up on staying with OEM and do trial and error instead.
  10. I've used 150, 155 and 160 in my stock springed 1911s with Titegroup. Started out with 5.0 grs per Hodgdon's online load data resource. I haven't tried different spring weights.
  11. Tried soaking for 30 days...the stuff is very very hard and trying to chip it out didn't work either...going to try either my Outers Foul Out or the 50/50 dip next...don't have access to an ultrasonic to see if that would work...
  12. The Hi Tek coated bullets smoke less than lubed hard cast lead but still leave lead fouling and especially in the comp. I haven't seen a brand that doesn't foul the comp nor have I figured a way to effectively clean the comp once it's fouled.
  13. In the Speer Reloading Manual No. 12 page 500 it lists a 9mm 124gr load with AA#9 of 9.4 to 10.5 grains. Just curious if anyone has tried this specific combination that Speer saw worthy enough to publish?
  14. I tried various diameters but ended up going back to .356. Did learn that some maker's do a better job of coating than others.
  15. Called CZ-USA today and they said 16lb and it's part no. 10911291. Forgot I have a spring tension tool for my 1911s. Had to use the small spring adapter but the spring that came installed is a 10lb. My circa 2019 Czechmate did not come with any extra springs. Now I understand why it cycles fine with very light reloads.
  16. Thanks 858... I've given up on using the Limited configuration.
  17. I emailed CZ USA for the OEM recoil spring rate for the Czechmate but they never responded. The Cz part number and description don't disclose the weight. Reading lots of posts on forums claim anywhere from 10 to 16lbs. Wolff website says 10lb is standard. Anyone have anything that states what that OEM spring weight is?
  18. Tried a month ago to order an Open but the STI rep stated production is halted and the DVC line discontinued. Didn't say anything about returning the line in the future. LEAKED: STI International Discontinues 70% of Product Line | Firearm Rack https://firearmrack.com/sti-discontinued/
  19. In order to put my comp and C More on I obviously had to drift out the rear sight. I would like to replace it with something that slips right in so I can change to Limited fast and easy. Anyone done this or know which way to head?
  20. I had the same problem with lead build up in the barrel and comp of my custom built 45. The bullets I was using then sure looked like they had only one coat instead of two or three. On my 9mm 1911 the barrel looked clean but my Outers Foul Out proved that despite the polymer coating that leading still occurred but not as bad as traditional lead. I've since switched to some other brands with better results and no leading in the compensator.
  21. I had this happen last week. I cleaned the space before the case enters the shell plate and it seemed to help.
  22. I've seen the same problem on another brand. The maker believes some sort of contamination prevented the coating from bonding correctly.
  23. The bullets are: Two Alpha Bullets...owner did not respond to my emails... I have three other brands I'm trying...one has no B.S. guarantee that theirs will take 2000 fps with no leading... Accuracy and smoke level on the Two Alpha was great...ordered .452 but they measure .453...neck expander and belling at the max with light crimp...retrieved bullets show the grooves are completely exposed and the coating failed...base coat was intact...the other new bullets coating looks substantially better...
