I loaded some coated bullets with TG and I am getting lots of stinky smell and leading... What gives ? Is TG too fast for coated bullets ?

No need to use the Lee FCD.. Use a light crimp with your regular dies. The FCD deforms your boolits.

Well said.. No distractions while reloading and look inside every case. I see no reason to use a powder that fills the case because of that reason. You need to PAY ATTENTION. I do that as well...

I get green beans at Sweet Maria's and roast them every week. Fresh roasts + daily grind + french press= great coffee.

My favorite powder for 45acp, 38spcl....well, makes it my top 3 anyways. Clean. clean, clean....

I never saw a needed to use the fcd..... it does nothing but ruin my boolits.

Like others have said...just bad brass. I inspect every case very carefully and I pray I don't get a bad case... 40 is a nasty caliber, nothing pleasant about having your gun blow up on you.. I shoot the 40 but I prefer the 9 and 45

5.4 with 180 extremes work really nice on my g23. pf 171...

5 grains works well in my 1911s

What oal are you using in your loads ?

What col are you guys using ? I want to use some 115/124 xtremes with my p99. My last load was 115 grainers with 4.0 tg col 1.125. They shot pretty good but I wondered if i should change the col to 1.135 or 1.15...

Shot some 4.2 with 230 ball from s&s. Best ever grouping in my kimber.. Scary accurate If I do my part

Have some 115 and 124 grains pills i want to try in my p99. I have 231, wsf , wst. Hogdon clays and tg on the bench. Any feedback on what would work best for my p99 ?

I use 1.25 oal on my g30sf and 1911 My load is 4.2 grains of be or 5.00 grains of 231

Careful with that powder in your 40s... I use it in 45acp and 38spl

Getting ready to load some xtremes 115 and 124s using wsf to try hem in my p99... Anyone here had good luck with them ? I've been using 4.1 w231 for years but someone told me wsf is much cleaner..

I'm not experienced enough to answer that. I use 44mag brass because it was more plentiful and the cylinder chambers are easier to keep clean. Maybe a veteran reloader can add more info. That's what I use as well. I read somewhere it has something to do with the way the powder fills the case. I hear some guys add a little cornmeal to fill the case.

Any advantages using 44spl cases over the 44 mag?
