Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I put a casefeeder on mine (shared with the press) and I can't pull the handle fast enough.
  2. Two were Winchester. The others I don't know - did not find the case head. The M8 extractor does work in the M10. The hook is slightly long so the extractor is pushed out a little farther. I haven't done it yet but that should be tunable with a file. I bought the Casepro to get rid of 'Glock bulge' - really all bulges at the case base. 3-5% of reloaded rounds won't pass the case gage without it. Many more are very close. With it, they are like new. I'm going to pay attention to how many times I reload brass now - never have before. I've been using the Casepro for 3 years without problem so I don't think it caused the problem but May have aggravated it. BTW, it also reduces the effort it takes to operate the reloading press.
  3. Might the Casepro have also made the case weaker by work-hardening it? It resizes the base of the case that normal resizing doesn't touch.
  4. Not a lot of differences. The action is the same. Even the recoil spring is the same. The M8 is a small single stack frame holding 8 rounds. The M13 is a double stack frame holding 13 rounds - uses the same slide as the M8. The M10 is the same frame as the M13 but with a heavier slide. The M8 and M13 are 9mm with polygonal barrels; the M10 is 40S&W with standard rifling.
  5. I've been reloading since the mid-90's and never had a case head separation until recently. One six months ago and 3 in the last month. Has occurred in 2 guns ( HK P7M10 with 100,000+ rounds and P7M10 with <2,000 ) so I don't think the problem is with the gun. My load is light and I haven't changed it in over 10 years. I have used a Casepro for the last 3 years to roll size the brass before reloading. I have my suspicion of the cause but would like to hear other ideas to make sure I'm not overlooking something. Also, I know the HK P7M8 (9mm) runs without an extractor - even HK says it will. The extractors on my P7M10's were blown out when the case separated - they're in the grass never to be seen again (even a magnet didn't find them). The P7M10 won't run reliably even with factory ammo. Any ideas on getting my P7M10 to run without an extractor?
  6. I got my Casepro today so, of course, I ran some cases and reloaded 100 rounds. No problems, works great. It took 1 month from order to delivery. Alan - thanks for getting this going. Used machines are impossible to find.
  7. I contacted him via the email address previously given. He is quite busy so it took a week for him to respond. He does have a few casepro units left but it is going to take (at least) a month to make the dies.
  8. Wish I had found this thread in time for the Christmas batch of Casepro's. I sent Mike Fleury an email - any idea of how long he normally takes to reply? About how many cases/hour can you process (without a case feeder)?
