  1. Do Dillon. At least if something goes wrong they can fix it. I have not loaded enough yet to really give it a glowing report but so far no probs
  2. Thanks guys. I guess I'll pass on the bullet feeder. I don't like loading to fast anyway. I think slower is safer for me. I'm not into running more than about 100 count rounds per session.
  3. And if so which is best for a 650. Do you need a different feeder for each calibre
  4. I have all the upgrades. After about a months use I took the roller bar off and put the stock pin back on. I never could get the roller to stay in the right position. The only thing I don't have but would love feedback on is the bullet feeder. I'm still pretty new at this and go slower than most but which bullet feeder and why? Am I really going to speed things up on my 650 with one?
  5. I don't do a large amount of reloading. I use .223 .40. .45 .762 and bought about 10k of each just before the big run a couple years ago. I thought I need to get ready incase I have to reload due to cost and demand. Things have pretty much gone back to normal. I know one thing. I really don't like reloading. I have a 650. What is the biggest differences between the 650 and the 1050 ?
  6. I have had a 650 for almost a year. Have only loaded 1000ea of .45 and .40. I'm hoping to get into it more this winter. Had too many unforscene other probs plus a move this last tear. I have enough consumables for 200# rounds ea. my biggest problem was trying to load .223. Was having probs at just about every station so I gave it up till I have more time to fool with it. Pistol are easy. Can't say the same for rifle rounds. The Dillon video and the utube videos saved my butt on many times. I just took a day and watched every 550/650 video and kept notes. Good luck. I never reloaded before but I'm getting it down.
  7. I have all the updates. I figure anything that makes things better and easier have to be worth the small price. Lug them all
  8. This place was a great help to me getting started. Lots of talent here. The other thing I would not have made without was Dillons Video which takes you slowly how to make a shell.
  9. I've had an XL 650 for about 8 months and loaded about 100 rounds in each of .40, .45, & 223. I thought I'd really get into this buying every upgrade available even the non Dillon niceties like the new primer dump bottle I have several thousand cases, bullets, primers and powders, electronic calipers and scales and large tumbler and I could go on. Prob 3k worth of gear. I wish I would have just put the money into finished new rounds. Really considering selling every thing. Just buying the ammo and having more trigger time. It's not a money saving thing for me I'd rather not spend the time reloading. Think I could get $2k for all?
  10. Isn't there a problem with used Glock brass. Buts a dent it or something
  11. I got this from lowes and it works great.http://www.lowes.com/pd_2218-55738-LWWB08-3D4563_0__?productId=1235425&Ntt=work+bench&pl=1&currentURL=%3FNtt%3Dwork%2Bbench&facetInfo=
  12. My local gun shop has all ain't AR Comp. it's a good powder when you can find it.
  13. The little flashlight from inline works great. Fits in the hole and uses one battery.
  14. Could we see the different ways you've mounted your 650 and why you did what you did?
  15. The same question could be said.. Could you use large rifle primers for say a .45acp?
  16. I too use the skylight, well worth the money and you can always see the shell plate!
  17. The way my bench is set up that hole is a bit of a shadow. There has been many times I have used a flaslight to find it and get a straight line of sight. Make sure your using the right size of wrench and pull out just enough to loosen it. Then re tighten when everything is back together .
  18. I took mine all the way out and lost it by mistake. Defiantly a new by thing. I emailed Dillon and had a new one in two days at no charge.
  19. I use the Dillon and its a great scale
  20. I tried the RCBS lockout die but went back to Dillons powder check. Just like it better
  21. Just my preference I like to stay from led bullets in my 1911s. Just a preference but to each his own.
  22. I too had problems with the roller bearing cam and put back on the original one. But be sure to order the new primer bottle from eBay.
  23. It helps if I would have had the powder funnel right the first time. All is good now. Doing 223 is not easy like pistol. You have to be so specific.
