Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I replied to jayjay1 earlier tonight through pm, but ill go ahead and share my full experience. The Budget reloader as been fine for the 9mm I am running through it. I also plan on 357 mag and 45 acp, so we will see how that works out. It is loud but that is due to the fact that there is a lot of brass tumbeling around in the top of the thing. So far I am happy with my purchase and it looks like ahirt of a feeder plate or hopper breakage everything could be fixed with fairly easily obtainable parts. I am happy with the purchase so far and as of now would do it again.
  2. I have several books. Prior to starting this whole process I bought the current lee, the hogdgons for this year and last and an older lyman for some relatively obsolete calipers I am going to load on a single stage. I did find some data for 147 gold dots today on the Alliant site, not nearly as good as the Hodgon site. Thanks for all the replays. Petersthefish are you using 147 and what oal did you use. I looked in the Lee manual and went with 142 because it was a tad bit longer than the lead and a tad bit shorter than the jacketed, does this sound about right.
  3. Thank you, I knew someone on here would know.
  4. I am new to reloading and trying to load my first batch of 9mm. I've got some Xtreme 147 plated and power pistol I would like to use. I know there are other powders that would probably be more ideal but this is what I've got. I have looked all over and my google-fu is weak. I need a recipe to run at about 950 fps. Any help is greatly appreciated.
  5. I am new to reloading, and really like that spread sheet. Can someone tell me where it came from?
  6. I order my 650 on Tuesday, and it was here on Saturday. Thank you fedex for Saturday delivery (I hate UPS). Brian was great to deal with, I emailed him a question (that if I would have just looked a little harder at the website I would have found the answer to) prior to the order. He got back to me very quickly. I placed my order and it had some things that will make you scratch your head, Brian called and we talked it out. Who needs to order straight from Dillon when you can order from Brian, well unless you need replacement parts.
  7. Well I just bought an unopened one from a member. When I get it ill report back.
  8. Thanks Natgas thats what i was looking for. It was my understanding the Dillon only had a 1 year warranty, die to it being an electric part. And by the time I buy the extra plates for the Dillon it is almost twice the money. I am handy so if it needs a new switch or motor, that's no issue. I just don't have the desire to build the housing or plate. Once again thanks Natgas.
  9. Natgas, you have the Budget Reloader brand, And have had no issues?
  10. I am just about ready to order my 650. I am very excited, but running on a tight budget. At first, I was not going to get a case collator. Now I am realizing that was not my brightest idea. I am looking at the Budget Reloader Collator. I have searched the forum, and used my Google-fu the best of my ability, I can’t find a review for them. I did find people asking about them, and I found the thread that descended into horribleness, but no one seems to have one. There is bound to be someone out there that has used it. To some the 100 bucks might not seem like a lot, but it is to me right now.
  11. Well I figured I should join as I have been doing a lot of lurking lately. I have not done any reloading or casting, but have read everything I can get my hands on about the subject. I have not shot IDPA, but have wanted to for years. Now that the funds are available the time is not. At 33 years old, I am working full time and going back to school full time. So as you can see time is a precious commodity in my life. I will finish school next May, so until then its just shoot when I can scrape some time together. I have enjoyed the forum for years, especially the Zen section. I came here because this seems to be the mother load of Dillon knowledge. I have already bought a Rock Chucker (Dillon does not make a single stage), to load my S&W 500 on, and plan on ordering a 650 from Brian in the next few weeks. I am also getting into casting, due to the cost of bullets for the 500. I am looking forward to the wealth of knowledge here.
