  1. This is good stuff. Thanks. I measured 50 rounds of the the factory Blazer 9mm I"m shooting at the moment. Averaged out 1.146", SD .002". Welcome to the forum! I'm originally from Eunice, LA, so not too far down the road from you. The needed OAL of the cartridge will depend on your barrel, bullet profile, and magazines. I've never owned an XDM, but I haven't seen any complaints about short chambers like I see with CZs. You're going to want to make some dummy rounds (no powder or primer) to figure out your max OAL. SAMMI spec 9mm is 1.169" max, which probably won't be achievable with your gun because of either magazine or barrel limitations. The minimum is 1.000", but I personally wouldn't load that short unless I had to. I try to stick to the ranges of 1.100" to 1.145" in my Glock (which has a long throat). The limit on bullet length with Glocks is generally the magazine, and I think that will be the case with the XDM as well. Make 5 or so dummy rounds at max length, and then stuff those in a mag, and load other rounds on top. If it hangs up, then try again at 0.01" shorter. Then do a plunk test in your barrel and verify that they work in your barrel working backwards as well. That should give you a good range to work with for load testing. Side note: I'm no chemist, but I can be extremely anal and (overly) analytical. I started out loading for rifle and got very into the case prep and making sure everything was made to my standards and within my tolerances. Word of advice, you're going to have to let that go when you start loading pistol on a progressive. Your OAL may vary more than you like, your powder throws might not be perfect, and you darn sure aren't going to take the time to uniform primer pockets. Long story short, it just doesn't matter as much with pistol. Be safe, but don't drive yourself crazy. http://www.saami.org/pubresources/cc_drawings/Pistol/9mm%20Luger%20-%209mm%20Luger%20+P.pdf
  2. I don't see any commercially available, but is anyone making a 10 round mag for the 9mm Springfield EMP? As long as it runs, I don't care if it's someone welding tubes together in their garage and telling me which springs and followers to buy.
  3. Thanks for that info. Based on that, I think I would be better off with a dedicated holster. I picked it up today from the FFL. Didn't realize it came with a holster when I ordered it, and I think that will be good enough for a once in a blue moon OWB holster.
  4. Thanks man. I saw the option on their site for an EMP specific holster, but I was wondering if a full size holster could pull double duty. I am picking up the EMP tomorrow, and will probably run it in a match at some point, but I wouldn't want to get a holster for one match if I can get a holster to accomodate a full size 1911 and the EMP.
  5. Blade-Tech makes one specifically for the EMP. I was looking to see if a full sized holster could pull double duty instead of buying two individual holsters.
  6. Jacketed, coated, plated, bare lead?
  7. Full tears in both shoulders. Right (dominant) repaired. took almost a year. I second Neomet's advice. Still have to get the left done, been putting it off for several years. I've had 3 shoulder surgeries. The third one took over a year and a half to recover from. Follow the above advice, it's as good as gold. And keep that arm immobilized even when you don't want to!
  8. I'm looking at a Blade-Tech holster for the Springfield EMP. What I'm wondering is, would this gun fit well in the 1911 Government model holster? Would it be just fine, like a Glock 17 in a Glock 34 holster: Too long, but just as secure? Or are enough things different that it would be like a Glock 43 in a Glock 34 holster: Trigger guards are different so it won't be retained? I'm not clear on what besides the grip and action is "Micro" on this pistol. Thanks!
  9. Wait. The mags that came with your gun are 18 round mags? They're advertised with the gun on CZ USA as 16 rounds, CZ Custom as 17, and yours are 18. This just keeps getting more confusing. So the Taylor Freelance pads make the mags too long to fit the gauge? I wonder if the Springer Precision pads fit. The CZ Custom pads are out of stock, and I ordered a TS 40 today. Need to figure out a solution soon
  10. The more I look at this, the more confused I get. Are the mags that come with the gun 16 or 17 round mags? In other words, are they the same as these from CZ Custom? Also, are these the Taylor Freelance pads you have?
  11. Springer Precision and Taylor Freelance both also make base pads, for less money. I have both the TF and CZC pads, and I see no reason to get the CZC's for 10 dollars more. The CZC springs and followers give 21 reloadable in either bases. Do the Taylor Freelance pads work with the CZ Tactical Sport Mag Well for IPSC Box? I see you don't have any, but I'm also wondering if the Springer Precision pads work with that magwell if anyone has that info. Sorry to hijack the thread, didn't seem right to start a new one when there was such good info here already.
  12. I'm thinking about buying a CZ Tactical Sport in 40 S&W. I'll buy a small quantity to try before I buy in bulk, but has anyone used either of these rounds in a Tac Sport? If so, can you recommend either of them? I know my SP-01 was super picky when it came to bullet profile, so I wanted to check here first before I wasted any money. Freedom Munitions 40 S&W 180 gr. 13. TTI's 20% off sale: Two TTI Glock 43 +2 basepads for $24 a piece, and one full mag with the +2 basepad for $43.99 Dawson Precision's Fiber Monday Sale: Dawson Precision Glock 43 Fixed Carry Sight Set - Black Rear & Fiber Optic Front for $62.95
  14. Personal best was 3.00 with a 1.30 draw to first shot. I was averaging around 3.3 seconds that day for clean runs. My goal was 2.5 seconds, but I never got close. This was a production setup, hands relaxed at sides. I was focused on where my front sight was going to be so I could get a hard focus on it as soon as it was available.
  15. I'm talking about the Shooter's Connection branded belt http://www.shootersconnectionstore.com/Shooters-Connection-Ultimate-Competition-Belt-Red-P3901.aspx It's a screaming deal, but I was hoping to get a sizing comparison to DAA and CR Speed belts. A comparison to those two brands would also be awesome.
  16. How close in size are these to DAA and CR Speed? If I wear a 38 in DAA, will I also order a 38 in your belt?
  17. Thank you, I have been so confused by that for so long
  18. Can someone explain the use of *thumb rest [generic]* to me. I always see posts like this, and I don't understand why that's used instead of asking for a TS Thumb Rest. What am I missing here? lol
  19. Good list! I would subtract the "Cgw extended firing pin and reduced firing pin spring" and the "8 or 11.5 cgw hammer spring" and buy the Short Reset System, SRS2. That includes the Firing pin, firing pin spring, and hammer spring. It also includes their modified lifter, lifter spring, and "dry fire safe" firing pin retaining pin.
