  1. By switching eyes you have now added another Cortical- muscular pathway. With your right eye, as i assume you are Right eye dominant, your fine motor skills were indexed with the right eye. By now using the left eye, you are using the opposite side of the brain, the right optical cortex, in the back of your head..... this will take awhile to overcome...... Work with very basic movements at first and add other components later. Simply do bench rest work at various distances and retrain your brain. Add more complex manuevers at a later time, i.e. draw from holster and index, etc. Right now you need to exercise the new pathways. They are there....always have been...As babies we are not right or left eye dominant as are eyes can't see the side of a barn. Babies recognize a certain shape as 'momma' and another as daddy..... When you are not shooting, practice motor skillls using you left eye....Cover up your right eye. Do some writing, take apart something simple you can reassemble, etc...
  2. WWB with 115 made 130 PF last i checked. I chronoed some a while back. 50 degrees that day. The 147 gr. stuff is a similar PF.
  3. Thinking like a scientist here,,,, Maybe you got a bad batch of primers.... Maybe they are out of spec???? Try federal primers, softer than Winchester and easier to 'push' in.
  4. Brownells appararently has the XD mags in 9mm and .40 in stock. Order away!!!
  5. Got everything off last night. No problems. The little screws up front are stripped, They apparently came that way from Dawson. I hadn't noticed till now. I used some Torx screwdrivers to get them out. Put the new trigger in, it will need some adjustment. It slides easily back and forwards after a little tweaking and doesn't hit the mags when inserted. But....The hammer will follow the slide forward on occasion and the grip safety is now not working...... I take it the rear portion of the trigger bow will need a little work???
  6. Federal pistol primers are all i use. I shoot revolver quite a bit and need something to accomodate both revos and my limited guns. I would see not reason to use rifle primers unless you are going 9mm/38 super in open.
  7. I'll do a search in the smithing section. Not much came up in this section.
  8. OK, I'm putting a new trigger in my STI Edge. 2 problems. How do I remove the grip from the frame????? The little allen screws in the trigger guard are just not coming out, they appear to be a little stripped and won't accept the 'correct' size Allen wrench. Any suggestions??
  9. I had to beat the heck out of mine. Tried heat, freezing.... nothing worked. Fortunately the sight broke and then easily came out. Hit it right to left when looking down at the slide, They are tough..
  10. That's right Shoepop, I think at the last match JR had 3-4 'groupies' waiting for him to get done shooting. Something about them wanting dollar bills in their hot-pants... Bear
  11. I've done the same thing. First time i shot the star last July (04') i emptied 4 magazines. i had 1 mag left for the rest of a 32 round stage. I was shooting L-10.
  12. I'm a C shooter. My springfield 1911 runs at 2.5 lbs with a Koenig hammer. Very crisp not a bit of creep. I ran this gun stock for over a year with a 5.5lb pull. My follow throughs are much better with the lighter trigger.
  13. I run a 5" tactical in 40S&W. Trigger by canyon creek..... I have several XD's, One customized by Springfield. The Canyon creek trigger is better in all regards......It comes in at a crips 2 lbs. Much less creep than the factory. You can tell he stones the sear..
  14. I purchased an STI edge from Dawson and had the reliability package done at the same time as it was on special. Gun is 100% reliable. The only screw up is me......
  15. The info here is great. I just bought a 650 with all the bells and whistles. I grew tired of my 'Lee' press....I would like to press it into oblivion. I will certainly ask here if i have any problems setting it up.
  16. Interesting. I once made some loads for my S&W 646. 4.0 gr TG, fed primer and 1.125" they made 171 PF. I shot these in Lubbock for an IDPA match thinking i was around 135 PF... Boy was i wrong. Overall, it wasn't too bad to shoot em. Very loud load indoors.. this was an indoor match.
  17. 1.2"OAL with 180 gr round nose 1.175 with 180 zero JHP's No feeding problems in my edge with these lengths.
  18. I believe 4.1 gr. of Clays is the max load in a .45 ACP case. Were you thinking Universal Clays?? I like my fingers too much to go to 5.1gr.
  19. Sound advice. I've been learning this one for a while. During a course of fire i'll have half A' and then half C's. I'm just going too fast and need to focus on the shot and follow through, worry less about speed and just try to be smooth.
  20. STI Edge Steel one piece with Wilson Shock-buff. Gun came with a recoil master, pretty much useless IMHO. Gun settles better with a 10LB spring with the buff.

    Score sheets

Does anyone have a word or pdf copy of their score sheets. I'm setting up a new USPSA club here in New Mexico and don't have any. Couldn't find any on the USPSA site. I could photocopy someone elses but i want a saved copy for my files. The more the better. Thanks ahead of time. RM
  23. Yep, john at brassmanbrass is a good guy. Always has given me a call to let me know the brass has shipped. I buy .40 and .45. 3K of 40 and 2K of .45 cost me about 130$ shipped last order. I always pick up my brass, and others. unless i don't like them.
  24. Steve came to our New Mexico IDPA match this past year. Easily High overall. It was incredible watching him move through a COF. Sad loss. Our greatest sympathies to his family and friends.
