Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Steve was my instructor, mentor and above all my. best friend. I August of 2004 Steve, his brother James and I sat down and panned a new open pistol we were collectively going to build and Steve would use to pursue his Grand Master classification in the open class. The pistol is finished and has been dedicated to his memory. I thought those who Knew Steve would like to have a look at the finished product. I am undecided as to keep it or sell it.
  2. Who is the go to guy that can provide a good trigger? And I am looking to reduce the creep and overtravel
  3. Just about to get my 9mm shorty finished and I was wondering about brass. Is using once fired good enough with no problems or is everyone recommending new +P stuff. New +P would definetly negate the price advantage of not shooting a .38 super.
  4. I have had many problems with PMC "once fired". They either crack while resizing or the case head seperates while firing. NOT COOL!! I always throw away all PMC regardless.
  5. I am in the middle of building a 9mm shorty open gun and the person that was building it hasn't the time to finish the project and has pretty much lost intrest in it. I am looking for a competent gunsmith that would be willing to finish this gun. The frame and slide have been fitted. The barrel has been fitted and needs the proper link. The trigger, hammer, sear and disconector have been fitted. I think the only real work left is to thread the barrel and install the compensator and install the ejector. I would also like some additional lightening work performed. I have all the parts. Someone please recomend someone to finish this project.
  6. To suggest misinformation makes me sick and mad but I got the news straight from his girlfriend who was my neighbor and close friend for 6 years. They recently moved to Pueblo, Co. in December and we have remained very close. She call me this past mid afternoon and was almost in coherent. James Broom had called her with the news and was on his way to Tulsa to take care of his brother. As I receive the funeral arrangements, I will post the info.
  7. I received the saddest of all possible news today. My very close friend, instructor, and travel companion Steve Broom has passed away today at age 32. Anyone involved in USPSA that knew Steve will surly feel a great loss. It happened at a range in Oklahoma this afternoon and we are still waiting on details of exactly what happened. I will greatly miss him.
  8. Gotta love the people that sing "God Bless America" at the 7th inning streach (sp)
  9. Sorry I should have been more supportive. Truth be told.... I will also be seeking lodging elsewhere next time around. Sorry to those I offended.
  10. What a bunch of whiney crybabies! Why the hell didn't you stay at the Match hotel? Didn't want to pay the $70.00+ per room rate would be my guess. Thats why I didn't stay at the Holiday Inn. I stayed at the same run down DAZE INN y'all stayed in and I got exactly what I paid for just like you did. Don't expect $100.00 a night service when you pay $40.00 a night. Find a maid on your floor give her $5.00 and tell her she's pretty, clean room every day. Elevator stink? Take the stair's! It is a good way to warm up for the match, just air gunit on the way down. Can't put one foot in front of the other going down on bad concrete? I hope you are never on my squad.
  11. It appears to me in my experience that it is the shooters that shoot the good ol boy club matches all the time and when they decide to have the trailer fumigated and have to find something to do, like shoot a match over and beyond their capability, we run into this type of thing.
  12. I think that at the shooters meeting prior to shooting the match that it should be announced that only the squad on the stage is the only people allowed to walk the stage. The new rule book is very clear on this matter.
  13. Alex...You ran a good stage. It was brought to the attention of the RO and shrugged off. I let the offending person know that I was the on deck shooter and he should get the hell outta the way, dirty looks followed but he did comply. This was on the driving to granmas house stage and drop the hanky stage. Two stages, two different people from the same squad.
  14. Texas Limited State Championship this past weekend was a very well thought out match and they reacted to the rain and got it done with no problem. But.... there is no shooting etiquette observed by most of the local yokal shooters that have never shot a premier match before. IF YOU ARE NOT ON THE SQUAD ASSIGNED TO THE STAGE TO BE SHOT...STAY THE HELL AWAY FROM THE STAGE! DO NOT DO A WALK THROUGH. I ran off 3 different people while I was the on deck shooter and their squad wasn't finished behined my squad. I vote to use a hard rubber hose to get these guys to understand.
  15. Even though IPSC is not an Olympic event and what Olympic shooting sports that are recognized by the IOC and not showcased or mentioned on national TV, (Liberal Media) I am approaching the USPSA nationals as a world event. Everyone in the world has had plenty of time to enter this event and all the worlds best shooters will be there. The Ecquador world championship will pale in comparision to what will happen in the USA at Berry Ill..
