So being new to my Dillon 550B and only having loaded about 1000rds on it. Why aren't yall using the included completed bullet shoot that comes with the press? I've only had 1 out of 1000 rounds hop out of the chute.

That's good to hear that the CFE pistol will work if needed.
-
Sounds like titegroup is the consensus of the group. I will pick some up and give it a shot. Gonna try the CFE pistol as well to compare, love the way it meters through my 550B

I'm sorry, I guess I wasn't very clear. I'm switching bullets to save the money. Just looking for powder suggestions. Thanks

I would pick it up here in the classifieds. Ive used it multiple times with great success

Going to be purchasing 9mm 115gr RN coated acme bullets for the first time and I was curious what powder yall have been using for them? I've been using CFE pistol on plated projo's for a while but I'm trying to get my cost per round down. Suggestions?

550 finished bullet chute question
david8989 replied to david8989's topic in Dillon Precision Reloading Equipment
Well once I got all my parts in front of me the inline fabrication ultramount comes with an extra tab that you can mount the original chute on. So, false alarm I guess. Thanks for the help guys -

550 finished bullet chute question

Hmmm... you would have thought there would be a part you could buy to use with the mount. I saw one made out of pvc also. May have to get it all together and go the homemade route as well. -
Okay so I just got a new 550 and I'm mounting it on an inline fabrication ultramount (similar to Dillons strongmount) obviously the included finished bullet chute won't work with this system. What are you guys doing about this part? Thanks for helping a Dillon noon out.

Starting to load 223 for multigun and I have questions
david8989 replied to david8989's topic in Rifle/Shotgun
Coming from PRS I am well versed in the application of the long range shot and how to set myself up for its success. It's really the close range, high speed stuff that gives me the most trouble as its something I've never really practiced a lot. -
wow, guess I wont be worried about being to rough with it from now on. Lol!

Copy that RPatton. Maybe i'll just pick up a couple boxes of the factory heavies until I can reload for them, just in case. -
Dedication indeed! It's businesses like MOA that keep us coming back for more.

Awesome advice AlbinLee. I believe if it will pass for a JP rifle it will do me just fine. I guess I just had a nervous tick about damaging the chamber after seeing guys do it to their $3K precision bolt rigs.

No need for lube. I always pre-prime my lake city 223 brass before running it through my LNL AP. There just always seems to be pieces that sneak through that don't have the crimp swaged out yet. I just prime while i'm watching TV.
-
Run them through a decapping die in your single stage press. I would highly recommend safety glasses just as a precaution

I have a slightly different method that I find less labor intensive than separating all the media from your .223 brass. Give the brass a soak in some hot water and lemishine for about 30 minutes, spray them off with the squirt nozzle and dry them in the oven at 200* for 90 minutes. Then they're nice and grit free to size/deprime and wet tumble. The whole process is maybe 5 minutes of actual handling of the brass, everything else can be done without you watching.

Right... That 6.5 creedmoor I've been shooting kinda has the ballistic edge on the .223 i'd say. Lol! That's okay though, finding the right combo for the perfect bullet is part of the fun. Right now i'm just trying to find a solid, affordable, all around bullet that can do everything I need with slightly above average performance. Once I have some more time with fewer irons in the fire I will custom tailor loads for varying distances. -
What tube length will sit as close to flush as possible for a stoeger M3000 24"?

Lol! I do clean my AR every once in a while. Mostly just to keep to much grit from getting in the BCG
