I bet the fastest overall raw time doesnt win the match...! Keep that in mind while shooting this match. Charlie =+1 second and Delta as I recall + 3 seconds! Not to mention FTN's.
Looking forward to another one of your matches. I have only shot a handful of major matches but I can attest that Task Force Dagger was by far the best!!! I am hoping this one will be similarly hardcore!
Kurt has an excellent point about guys that load fast! I can load the shotgun sub 4 but my buddy loads in 7 seconds and he beats me sometimes because I miss very fast also whereas he makes every shot count.
I can get the gun to shoot in about 1 sec from the time it is dry using a match saver. With that said... It caused a jam on my benelli when the loaded shell got in the way of the empty case that was trying to be ejected... During FNH. It will be removed.
I use the 77SMKs and it works great! I push them around 2600 FPS and I run 1 inch high at 200 yards but about spot on the rest of the way. It ends up a little low at 500 Yards but it has never bothered me in a match. You can push the bullet faster to better line up but as others have stated tune the load to the barrel and adjust the zero accordingly.
Wow 2.6 that is SMOKING fast!!!! I will continue this method as it is reliable and its what I know for now. The quads may be a consideration one day. I dont like the idea of taking up all the room on my belt and losing shells when prone. Only down side I know of on the Mark Otto Vest is my mags occasionally hit the shells on the left side of the loader and it can buckle a couple shells inward.
Can anyone beat this. I was practicing this morning and noticed my times got faster.... Still need to work on 1 for 1 hits while actually shooting the shotgun!
I am not an exceptional pistol shot but progressing.... Hence the name GM 2B
I bought some steel knockover targets the size of a light switch panel and I enjoy placing 6 out and shooting them from 10-25 yards. Then transitioning and shooting paper 7-20 yards. I just started practicing on the steel knockovers. Previously only shot C zoned steel for practice.
Load 8 in shotgun while walking forward towards target then engage, load while walking left then engage, load whil walking right then engage, load while retreating then engage.
Shoot the knockovers with shotgun from varying distances with different chokes as fast as possible.
Shoot knockovers while walking quickly with shotgun
Draw shoot 2 on 1 C zone steel transition to another and shoot 2 on it. Sometimes I will reload between or practice that while moving.
Draw and shoot 1 on target from 7-50 yards as fast as I can and watch the difference in time for varying distances.
@ 100-200 yards from port arms or low ready on C zone steel target shoot one standing reload then shoot one kneeling reload then shoot one prone or sometimes add movement between shots.
shoot a steel at 100 then 200 then 300 then 400 then 500 as fast as possible from the prone position
