  1. As others have said there are many places to shoot. I like central florida rifle and pistol club 2, 3 gun matches a month. Also Fort myers swamp shooters has like 15 matches a month or something off the wall like that!
  2. Merlin if you make the move let me know I live in Jacksonville but venture down that way we can shoot a few matches together!
  3. I shoot magnum targets they are likely the ones aandabooks is talking about except they are even cheaper when you cut ebay out of it. I have been shooting them for about a year with pistol and shotgun only. They do get slight dings with magnum caliber pistols. For the price and lower volume they are worth every penny.... I paid 35ish for 6 soda can sized knockdown targets shipped and 60ish for 6 6inch knockdown circles shipped. http://magnumtargets.com/
  4. I only shot 6 majors... TFDG, + $700 Tarheel+$100, BRMG -$100, SE3G +$1000, FNH + $200, and USCA $-50 but I was fortunate enough make 1850.00 by choosing my prizes wisely and definitely some luck too! If it wasnt for the great sponsors and products I would only be able to go to 1 or max 2 matches per year! I have been lucky enough to drive to all but one of those matches and also stayed with friends for some as well.
  5. Promoted to the SE regional match!!!! Thank you! Looking forward to it!
  6. I say it shouldnt be allowed except at the local level for beginners. I have only seen it done at a higher level a few weeks ago at the USCA nationals. I have never seen so much coaching on stages in my life. They didnt stop anyone and it kept going on and on.
  7. I saw the exact same thing in his range commands and talked about it openly. He stated he would have to ask Daniel if it was per shot fired procedural or before the beep. I was concerned I might pop off a few before the beep and get multiple procedurals so I didnt do it.
  8. If you decided to go with that barrel assembly you will acutally need to get a low profile adjustable gas block the one it comes with doesnt fit under a 15inch hand guard. I am bet JP would honor that price and switch the gas block for you... I am obviously biased towards JP's product and of course there are other high quality parts manufacturers out there.
  9. Building it with quality parts like others have said. Good trigger, 18inch barrel , lightened carrier, and adjustable gas block. I used to run solely home built guns. With quality parts it can be done for 1300.00ish. You will not need to upgrade for a veyr very very long time if ever. Its not rocket science putting them together I built my first by watching a youtube video. No patients in the ER at 4:26am! I hope you build one they are fun!
  10. I will gladly RO and shoot with RO's and still pay if it gets me into SE Regionals!
  11. Any news on Southeast? I couldnt register until 8:03 due to ER patients keep coming in the door... Registration email but no promotion email. Will there be a waiting list in order of precedence for cancellations? Thanks!
  12. Great match! Thank you to everyone who made it happen! Had a blast! Hampton asked for constructive feedback... More long range!!!! Thanks again!
  13. I wonder what number the shooters started at. It looks like there are at least 60 of us within the first few minutes!
  14. This was my first "major" 3 gun match in 2013 and if its anything like their last match there will be lots of targets past 200 yards most long range of all the matches I remember shooting this year! This match set a precedence for major matches in my book. When I go to a major 3 gun matches and see bay stages with only close rifle shots I get pretty bored. Looking forward to going back to this great match super great staff and that was very professionally ran!
  15. I trim to 1.750 never had any issues. Seperate cases by headstamp, length, neck wall thickness with ball mic, and weight if you are going for extreme accuracy. As others have said at 200 it doesnt matter much at 600 everything matters! Short brass may or may not matter just try shooting short brass at one target and regular at another target at 500 yards with all other things being equal and you will know!
  16. The glass on the Vortex 1-6's I have looked thru look great I have looked thru about 5 razor's. I particularly like the reticle nothing obstructing my view simple and very effective! The MTAC I used to use was also good but the reticle was so big I had trouble seeing my small targets at 400-500 yards. The swaro's are also very nice but I can carry the extra few ounces and save the thousand dollars!
  17. I had my cell phone set to remind me of this but then it died... On my way home i remember and now get a blank screen.
  18. This prize table seems to be stacking up very tall! I hope the stages are just as great! Looking forward to shooting some of these matches!
  19. Nice work!!! I dremelled my M2 open to where I wanted it. It isn't pretty like many others but it works like a charm! Had a buddy weld the lifter.
