  1. Do you know what the start times are for the AM and PM squads? Thanks.
  2. Interested in this also. My 2011 is close to yours - single sided mount with a thumb rest just a little smaller than the go guns. I had one company try to make a Kydex for it but he couldn't accommodate the thumb rest. I'm running a Limcat holster now. Seems to have a good lock and positive locking lever on it. For USPSA I run a Racemaster. I'm interested in getting a Kydex too, but haven't found a company yet.
  3. I've never tried a larger dot because I only had the 3 MOA dot on hand at the time. I was really interested on thoughts of the dot in circle type reticle, and the technology difference between the two optics listed. Does the larger circle make sense for shot targets while keeping the small dot for slugs? Does it make it quicker for your eyes to see what they need to see?
  4. Still very new to Open/Unlimited shotguns. Currently have a Burris FFIII as my optic, but not entirely happy with the 3 MOA dot. Feel like I'm trying to be too precise with it. Considering making a switch to circle-dot like Vortex Spitfire or Holosun HS515 and looking for input. Trying to understand the differences, pros, and cons of each. Thanks.
  5. I find this works great, too. Trubor barrel with 3 small barrel holes.
  6. Cheapest place I found was McMaster Carr. Don't remember their dimension offhand, but something like $10 or $12 gets you 25 pieces.
  7. Pictures have been uploading for quite a while now. Probably another 10-12 hours of uploading left to go. This link should take you to all of the pictures though. I'll post on the FB page, too. Enjoy. Hope there's a good one of you in there. https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B6BIXw6FoXWlWnk2NlpCUF9IcTA
  8. Just going to be setting up my first Open shotgun, and like the title says, I'm not sure what distance to zero my optic at. Looking for input on this. Thanks.
  9. Give me a little more time to go through and pull out the pictures that will be sent to Front Sight and then I'll get the rest uploaded. I tried to get a decent variety of squads on Saturday while walking around and moved between stages as much as I could on Sunday, but that was tough. I was also shooting on the squad of 15. Shooting in burst mode, there will be about 1400 pictures to upload...
  10. Thanks. I run an Al slide ride click 8MOA on my pistol now. Getting ready to evaluate a DP Pro with the triangle.
  11. C-More slideride? Not an STS/RTS I assume, but wanted to make sure.
  12. Well, the two week wait officially began today...
  13. I added a rider to our homeowner's. Pretty sure it was through Farmer's. No problem at all. Supplied them description, serial numbers, pictures, and my stated value. Two Open guns in Patriot case plus full-size DAA backpack and all of it's contents, so you can guess at total insured value. Zero deductible policy, and it is <$100 per year.
  14. Is there a difference between a TAC-12 and a TAC-12 A-1 then? I've seen them referenced both ways. Last question, for today at least, what are the preferred magazines for these guns?
  15. Interested in getting a box-fed shotgun and looking at both Firebird and Tooth & Nail. As I look over the Firebird offering, I'm confused. Maybe a stupid newb question, but would appreciate some help. On Firebird website it says "Complete TAC-12 with billet machined lower receiver. $2440" Then it says Buy online now at 3GunUSA. So I click over there and they're selling TAC-12 A-1, with a listed price of $1989. Am I comparing apples to oranges or what? Also, is a mid-barrel comp strongly recommended for this, and if so, what are the options? Thanks.
  16. Probably smoother than plastic. Very easy to sand & polish the mag area of the grip and it is VERY slick for loading. Also with a metal grip, unless you're King Kong, you won't be able to squeeze it hard enough to have any issues dropping a mag free like you can with plastic. The only caveat is that metal grips are a little more demanding of the mag being inserted squarely. If you have the mag clocked, you won't be able to keep pushing it in and eventually get it aligned. But that's nothing dry fire and practice (and a good magwell) won't cure. I don't have a PT Ti grip myself, but I do know they have never had an issue with any of the Ti grips produced and fielded.
  17. Brian04rs - Cerakote won't be a problem at all on the PT Aggressive grip. Mine is a SS aggressive grip and is Cerakoted. Didn't lose any of the texturing. I believe if applied properly Cerakote film thickness is on the order of 0.001 - 0.002". You won't notice a thing. Mine is also holding up quite well. The only wear in the coating is where it goes into the Racemaster holster.
  18. Well that sucks. Sorry to hear that. I was considering giving them a go once again. I was a very early adopter, but after initial problems bailed on them.
  19. It is difficult to see on the pics in his vendor forum. The vertical baffles have a slight rearward cant. I don't know the angle. The side ports are also directed slightly backward. I've got one of his previous generation Ti comps on a non-ported hybrid 9 barrel and one of his newer generation Trubor barrels in 38SC with three small popples. In a few months I'll have another gun with the latest and greatest in 38SC Trubor goodness (may have him do a 9 barrel too for grins). I'm a believer - these are much nicer in the hand and in dot management than others I've shot in the past.
  20. Personally, I like AutoComp in my 38SC, so when I run out of it I'll likely switch to CFE (as mentioned, very comparable).
