  1. I should have known it was equipment deficiency as opposed to that of Mrs. Singlestack. Sounds like its time for an action job on that camera, maybe a lighter spring, how bout a dot....? Hmmm.
  2. SS said "She pressed the button when she heard the buzzer. The pic shows Robbie's slide all the way back with 2 pieces of brass in the frame". Tell your better half I think she needs to spend some time on timer reaction drills. If she snapped at the buzzer, she should have been able to snap that shot well before TGO could have drawn that weapon and fired two rounds. Oh, don't bother to tell me how she responds.....I can guess. ;-}

You're right Nik. Glockmeister carries complete parts rebuild kits. Choices are the complete kit, a kit for all parts in the slide (except barrel), and a kit for all parts in the receiver. Check the web site for details and pricing http://www.glockmeister.com

Hey Bill, you don't have to wish. Just sell that foo-foo gun and you'll have enough money for a production gun, a production backup gun, all the gear, and still have enough money left over for a big party to celebrate your move over to production. Whadaya think?

I'm sure T could give a rats hindquarter what any of us think anyway. Hey, we Glock shooters are a tight group and have to stick together you know....there aren't that many of us.

I hate to see a fellow Glock shooter fall by the wayside. I have to agree with Vince. Put the stock parts back in that thing, polish the parts that move, and go shootin'.
  7. I'm specifically interested in MG bullets, not West Coast. Been there, done that.
  8. Yeah, been to the website. To get the volume discount/free shipping however, there is a big jump on case order requirements if you're in the east.
  9. That's a very generous offer Jon. Thank you very much. I'll need some prior to the Georgia match however. I've got feelers out to some local shooters hoping to get some help reaching the 8 case minimum. Very few of our shooters here locally use the MGs. I am switching to MG as a result of problems I've had with wrinkled plating with another manufacturer's bullet. I've tried car polish in the media, brass polish in the media, case lube, and am expanding the case mouth well beyond what should be necessary, and still wrinkle the plating 30% of the time. Seems the problem is becoming more and more frequent so it's time to change bullets.
  10. Way to go! You'll have to change your moniker to Shooter Grrl Elite or something to that effect. Any other BEers make the spotlight?
  11. I heard there's one in Mobile, but also that they didn't keep very much in stock.
  12. Is there one closer to the East Coast than Lecks in Texas?
  13. Hey John, if you are planning on shooting on Sunday ask to squad with the GPSL/Cherokee squad. Or better yet, get in contact with Roger Kooi. I'm sure he'd be glad to send your stuff in with ours.
  14. You must secure the mag after the reload and can do so either in a pouch, pocket, or even in the waistband of your pants. But you can't hold it in your hand.
  15. I called USPSA HQ some time ago and asked questions about the external modification rule. I was told the Glock back strap plugs, even the plastic ones, as well as any trigger stop visible externally was considered an external modification and therefore illegal in USPSA production division.
  16. Ron, no worries. Respectful debate is good for the soul. I didn't mean to imply, nor do I think our current local philosophy allows or causes a shooter to stay in a class below their ability. Granted, anyone could sandbag and achieve that result, but that can happen regardless of whether reshoots are allowed as a matter of course or not. IMO, our approach ensures a shooter is in a class reflective of their true, on demand, repeatable, capability; which is very different from a shooter's performance in a best 2 out of 3 attempts because they were trying to shoot beyond their present capability, and finally happened to get lucky and get all their hits. Conversely, a shooter moves up in class when they can consistently, and on demand, perform to the levels of the higher class. It all still boils down to the individual shooter and their actions that strike the balance between, or crosses, the line between grandbagging and sandbagging. Just because a shooter can get a reshoot in some local areas because they dropped a shot does not mean that have to ask for it. Every time any of us shoot a classifier, we can decide beforehand on a case by case basis, whether we will shoot the classifier in a fashion pushing much beyond our current ability or within our current ability. Bottom line is I don't feel shooters should be given a reshoot for any reason. Similar to taking a test in school. I don't get to retake it because I didn't study hard enough, didn't get enough sleep the night before, took it hung over, or simply because I felt I should have scored better than I did.
  17. I paste targets, reset steel or whatever needs to be done, because frankly, just sitting around waiting is boring. Helping out gets everyone through much quicker. You can also sometimes pick up a shortcut or two or learn something new about a stage as you walk through it to paste targets or reset steel. If I'm in the hole, I've hopefully already got in my mind what I need to do, so I use that time to perform some last minute verifications that I'm materially ready to go, such as making sure mags are full and in place, etc.
  18. Anyone have knowledge about converting camcorder type video to MPEG files? What tools are available? Price ranges, etc?
  19. I agree with sincityshooter in that big match performance will catch up with them. However, crossing that line too far in the other extreme is obvious sandbagging. FWIW, in my area reshoots are hardly ever allowed, and I totally agree with that philosophy. Here locally, mental or mechanical malfunctions, dropped shots, etc. were part of your performance on that given day and you get what you get from a classfication score standpoint, good, bad or completely ugly. USPSA has their rules for use of the score, but it still goes in. One attempt, one score. Second classifiers are allowed if a shooter wants to shoot the classifier again for score in another division, but that does not prevent the previous score, good or bad from going in. This makes moving up tougher, but it has it's advantages also. I've noticed that our local shooters do very well at major matches. Generally speaking, we almost always shoot well into if not slightly above our USPSA classification at major matches. Shooters who can get a reshoot for any variety of reasons are more apt to go for broke, knowing if they don't hit it right, they'll simply try again because they dropped a shot, or whatever. I'm not saying that's wrong, I would just prefer to know going into any major match that I can be very competitive in my class. I think the option to repeatedly reshoot a classifier at the local level decreases the likelihood of shooters posting consistent percentages in their classification at major matches. My two cents...worth every penny you paid for it.
  20. Any BE members going to the Tennessee match? I'll be there shooting limited. BTW, does anyone have their latest Front Sight handy and could give me the phone number for the match hotel in Memphis? I mailed in the form without making note of it and didn't see anything on the major match section of the USPSA website. I blew my gun up!

Kind of interesting the various philosophies regarding the covering (or not) of certain areas when applying Agrip. On my Glocks, I choose to cover the mag release button on the depress side, but cut around the opening on the egress side. I also cut around the slide release lever and punch a hole for the trigger pin to ease disassembly for cleaning. Unlike some Glock shooters, I do clean my guns every now and again.
  22. I don't think the wear is due to flexing during recoil as much as due to the engineered intent of the rod's slight movement vertically during cycling. I suppose the angle of travel, thus the amount of wear, would differ between a longer rod for a 34 or 35 as compared to a shorter rod for a 19. I use slide glide on mine but did not start using it until the wear had pretty much stopped on it's own anyway. I would think the lube would at least prolong the wear period if not reduce or eliminate it entirely, as Slide Glide is some good stuff.
  23. My experience has been completely with the non-captive model. Might be a plus for the captive design if there is no wear worries.
