  1. I'm not sure if IPSC contributes anything to the individual regions. I don't even think they pay for the RDs to fly out to the general assemblies. What the individual member regions do is their own business, and it could well be that the leadership of some of those regions are enriching themselves. In that sense, it would be no difference to the accusations of malpractice going on in USPSA, which itself is just another member region of IPSC.
  2. It's going into a JP modular trigger unit so I assume the hammer is already a light version.
  3. Yes I figured the same. I ordered a pack of competition springs that contains reduced power versions of all three springs. They claim it can bring the pull weight of a factory AR trigger and hammer down to 2.5lb
  4. Did you have to re-adjust the micrometer setting after removing the spring?
  5. I have an 8" barrel and run the 70 on it. I know that a short barrel length should mean less pressure (and therefore a higher lock piece needed) but certainly not to the extent that you need to go to a 90 or 100. Why do you want to run such high lock pieces?
  6. I have a JP trigger, but want to get the trigger pull down from 3.5lb to as close to 2lb as possible. To my understanding, the trigger unit has a hammer spring, trigger return spring and disconnector spring. Which of these, if replaced with a lighter spring, would reduce the trigger weight?
  7. It sounds more like when you are aware that you are loosening your grip, your response is to tense up and start pulling shots low right (assuming you are shooting left handed)
  8. Are we also forgetting a certain GM who's had many allegations of cheating against him and suspicious Practiscore edits that always seem to be in his favour, and who is still unbanned.
  9. Have you tried the 507comp hands on? FWIW when running the 2moa dot on the green version, it looks to be bigger than 2moa and I don't think I'm the only one who has noticed this
  10. Yes, USPSA doesn't have a monopoly on the concept of hit factor scoring (or even the rules in general).
  11. It was recommended to me to use CLR and to just stand the rifle inverted so that the comp (and only the comp) is immersed in a container containing the CLR.
  12. Has anyone here with a JP Modular trigger, who replaced the hammer/trigger/disconnector springs with aftermarket lightweight spring to try and get a lower pull weight without sacrificing reliability? From what I can see, the JP triggers should use standard AR springs?
  13. Two of my 17 rounders, with magazine body code 1587-01 and black followers do not lock back the bolt on empty. Definitely is a magazine issue as it won't lock back even if I manually charge the rifle. Other magazines will lock it back on empty just fine. I have Armanov basepads on them, so I wonder if I haven't installed them correctly.
  14. Actually, having reviewed the video above, is it normal to get a bit of gas or even the occasional flame/flash out of the ejection port?
  15. An unscientific comparison between a standard blowback and the JP-5 just for the laughs
  16. Well after 2 years of waiting, I finally got my hands on my JP and took it to the range. WOW I know some people described it like shooting a 22, and while I was skeptical, I can see what they mean. While the felt recoil is certainly more than a 22, the dot movement was minimal and similar to when I shoot my 22 AR-15. Have a 70 degree locker in, shooting 115gr blazer out of an 8" barrel. Brass is coming out about 4 feet so I think I might have a small amount of operating room to play with when the SCS spring set arrives. I'm noticing the dot does not jump up, but jumps right, so I'll need to figure out what's causing that, and re-watch Max's carbine mastery videos on the supercetca channel.
  17. So I have the JP flat trigger with the competition spring. That should put the pull weight at 3-3.5lb The Sd3g is supposed to be 3.5lb With that in mind, what is it that the Sd3g does better in your experience?
  18. I had to bend the rod slightly so that it would push the primer cup further back
  19. So...did anyone here actually follow the JP PCC barrel break-in process?
  20. I've certainly noticed the Green is very bright, and even on the 2moa setting it feels very similar to my 5moa SRO I'll need to get myself a Red version of the 507comp to compare
  21. This became very apparent to me when I read the USPSA and IPSC rulebooks side-by-side
