  1. Which goes back to my original worries when I heard they were looking to ban aftermarket trigger assemblies etc...any manufacturer making guns specifically for Production will make those alternative parts that competitors are requesting. This increases the gulf between "true" production guns and the many "race" production guns that now exist. I'm glad they decided to fully allow all aftermarket triggers and hammers instead, but confused why they havent' done the same for springs.
  2. Milling the slide was previously allowed, that section in the rules hasn't changed. See the extract below from the 2019 rules. And milling the slide would still render the pistol no longer Production-legal if you wanted to go back to iron sights. My understanding is that the intention at the outset was that only Juniors and Super Juniors could participate in the discipline as a whole.
  3. In Production, looks like aftermarket hammers and trigger assemblies are fully legal, but there are some restrictions on aftermarket springs. They are only allowed if "in the same configuration" as original factory springs. I'd love more clarification there. I assume things like the DPM springs are out, but what if you have a simple progressive recoil spring? Coupled mags no longer allowed in Minirifle.
  4. As someone not familiar with USPSA rules, why the specific prohibition on sticking the mag in the mouth
  5. Apparently Todd Jarrett is petitioning for signatures to run for USPSA President
  6. Apparently coated bullets will lead up the compensator faster than jacketed/plated bullets.
  7. Ah ok. After some more fiddling with the GR holster, I've got it to work. Although there is a bit of play when the holster is locked, it does retain the gun. Did you experience something similar, in that it's not a perfect fit?
  8. I'm having real trouble setting it up. I have the Tandemkross victory trigger, and it just feels like it's too big and getting in the way of the passive locking mechanism that pops up when you push the trigger guard against the two white screws. Do you have the factory Ruger trigger?
  9. She appears to have switched to a Taran tactified Glock 34

  11. Presumably you can play with these in a safety area as they don't contain any ammunition?
  12. I'm going to fit them to my Phoenixes. Now that Phoenix offer them as a factory part, it can be used for IPSC production. I've had a few instance where my support hand thumb was bumping the safety up during recoil.
  13. Great writeup and video. For the very last target of the last stage, are you sure you were looking at a precise spot in the middle of the headbox? A great drill I saw from Ben Stoeger for practicing El Prez style target presentations is to set up three targets like an El Prez. Start with a bill drill on one target. Record your overall time and split times. Then try and shoot that same time but with two on each target instead. Even though you're shooting two per target and transitioning, the transitions should be so seamless that it sounds just like you're bill drilling 6 shots onto one target.
  14. You've already mentioned the Guga Ribas. Double Alpha Academy also recently released their new Flex holster, which can be adjusted to fit most guns.
  15. Oh that's good to know - was it easy to set up for the MK IV?
  16. The definition of 'engaging a target' literally says the target has to be within view ,and not through walls or other barriers/obstacles except for soft cover. Barrels are to be considered hard cover unless otherwise stipulated in the WSB. Therefore, hard to argue that that this wasn't a FTSA.
  17. A variation of up to 0.05gr a non-issue for pistol. Even if you're loading for bullseye/PPC, let alone practical.
  18. Do you shoot iron sights anymore? If so, did you find it useful to switch back to iron sights with all of the target focus stuff you learned shooting with an optic?
  19. As per Annex I of the rulebook, chronograph is only mandatory at Level 4 and 5s, so basically continental/world championships.
  20. Interesting, the rules say this: 10.2.2 A competitor who fails to comply with the procedure specified in the written stage briefing will incur one procedural penalty for each occurrence. However, if a competitor has gained a significant advantage during non- compliance, the competitor may be assessed one procedural penalty for each shot fired, instead of a single penalty (e.g. firing multiple shots contrary to the required position or stance). 10.2.2.1 Procedural penalties for failure to comply with stage procedures do not apply to the number of shots fired. Penalties for firing insufficient or additional shots are addressed in other rules and must not be penalized under the provisions of 10.2.2 Speaking as an IPSC shooter reading the USPSA rulebook, you guys have some weird rules.
