  1. That would be ok for match officials who need to shut down a squad while a question is answered anyway, a shooter who wanted like to look at the rules if something came up probably wouldn't ask the squad to stop scoring and wait for him. Also I do not know why some shooters have a hard time viewing the screens on some devices, polarization of their eyeglasses?
  2. Just the opposite for me. Also if you are using generic devices you lose the opportunity to paper clip/highlight the things that come up or which are located where you would not intuitively look for them.
  3. That is what I did for the same issue. No difference (Tripps - Wilsons - OEM).
  4. Saw my first home printed rule book in the wild at a match Sunday. The guy that had it said something very like "when I'm working a match I'm not going to be screwing around trying to find things on my cell phone". Some things just warm your heart.
  5. Nor am I. If the groups are not spreading an unreasonable amount between 12.5 and 25 then it may not be something relevant. I crimp only enough to bring the brass back to the bullet, if you pull one of my bullets you might see a very small trace of a ring where the top of the brass touched the coating and you may not.
  6. With coated bullets, if you are shooting good groups at 12.5 yards and bad groups at 25 yards you might be crimping too much. SNS pointed this out to me when I noticed that my groups were spreading more than they should just based upon increased distance, I think it is similar to throwing a curve ball that does not break much till it gets close to the plate.
  7. Got it. That is a difficult measurement for me to make and feel confident about accuracy. I sent a note to LB asking about the problem and potential fix, will respond if they come back with something interesting. Something I thought was interesting is that they only only list one slide stop on the LB price list & do not mention caliber. Tempted to just go ahead and purchase the EGW immediately. My gut thinks you have found the solution.
  8. At a match Sunday one of the guys had some very slick looking single stack single mag pouches. They were black & tension adjustable with screws & he said he got them for $12.00 each either on amazon or ebay. They looked every bit as well made as anything I have seen. I could not find any manufacturers information anywhere on the pouch and I've struck out trying to search them out on my pc. Any ideas?
  9. Same issue, exactly, new Les Baer P2, happens intermittently with Tripp Cobra & Wilson 10 & Les Baer mag (9). Did not notice it until I replaced the upper grip screws and bushing which was necessary to use the grips I wanted, probably just coincidental but it might be worth verifying that your upper grip screws are recessed back inside the mag opening and are not limiting sided to side movement of the mags. My left side upper grip screw might still be just a tiny smidge too long, I'm going to fix that and verify that does not effect the problem (do not know why it would but it seems wrong so why not fix that first) and then will be very interested in following your lead on slide stops to see if there is variance in how far the lip reaches that catches the magazine. Your measurements seem to refer to pin diameter rather than lip length so I'm a little confused where you are going. A cheap and dirty thing to play with would be to install a too long upper right grip screw just for experimentations sake. One tidbit I have learned. New Tripp cobra 10 round 9mm mags are sent out with split followers, on some guns the split followers are needed to prevent lock back on the next to last round, on other guns the solid followers (marked 40) are needed to get consistent lock back when the mag is empty, information is directly from Tripp & the solid followers work in my . gun And I still hate the add software that makes it a pain in the ass when I type a product word like gun or mag .
  10. My platform would be; make a hardcopy rulebook available at a fair price; stop screwing around with divisions, get the r.o. (and shooter) training out of the Stone Age, encourage folks to think of this as a fun pastime instead of getting wadded up when they don't have to, and let the users vote on any more big changes.
  11. Depends upon the candidate. In the interviews in the USPSA mag and other media (Ben Stoeger did some pod cast interviews that come to mind) some of the folks were very specific about what they wanted to accomplish and some were more generic. Obviously there is not an end of year bonus plan with milestones so if that is your point then yes things are less tied to target dates and threshold values.
  12. So the folks who run for elected office, by membership vote, should not be doing this? I vote on a position based upon the goals and values that the candidates advertise, and if a person runs a second time I will consider what I know of his actions while he held the position the first time.
  13. Ever seen an open gun or pcc? Practical was maybe meant to define the sport instead of the equipment?
  14. When I've been at a match where there was an ambulance run (heat stroke in this case), all guns were cleared when the ambulance was called and shooting resumed after the ambulance had left.
  15. I wonder what would be the cost trade off between sending the upper echelon to only 50% of their normal match schedule for one year and getting books to all of the r.o.'s ?
  16. It is the newest bright and shiny thing, but I would not fret if you need to wait to find some. It is very unlikely to ever effect a match score.
  17. Reminds me of back in the early 70's when they said Harley Davidson was dead.
  18. I always open and close ports and doors (not used as activators) sometime during the walk through, it can be advantageous particularly with doors that do not swing full open & sticky mechanisms (as you noted). Last time I worked a stage at a level 2 there were 3 ports & pretty much every shooter got the feel of them, but during the walk through not after make ready.
  19. Interesting, 8.7.1 does not tie you to the start position unless you are taking a sight picture.
  20. For several years I have read books for entertainment from my iPad or kindle because it is cheaper. Downside is that it is a pain to find anything you are looking for unless you already know exactly what you are looking for and remembering how to have multiple pages open at once when two or more things are related (actually never needed to do this with just normal books) is a pain. Equipment manuals, standards documents, anything I need to use as a tool it is hard copy all the way. Much of that stuff has been on pc's for years and it has always been less of a pain in the arse for me to have the book available when it is something I will use repeatedly. I think that is going to be sop for the smarter range officials at major matches from now on and the cool ones will even have them laminated.
  21. Interesting, I polished up parts in lower, and a bit on the upper. Maybe I need to go more on the upper than Careful. Ammo needs to be right. 1.13 RN seems to be very right for my guns.
  22. https://patriotdefense.com/wolff-recoil-spring-tanfoglio-long-size/ I ran these in my stock 2's with a coil or two clipped to get the length right, worked fine I went back to a bit more spring because I was concerned about potential damage to the gun, I think I am being overcautious but that is my nature.
  23. Wonder how much it would cost to make our own books? Anybody with a printer can roll their own 8.5*11 in a 3 ring binder but it might not be too terrible to have a professional outfit make something more range bag friendly, particularly if there were 50 or more people interested.
