I run an 10lb with shock buff for 40 minor. Early this week, forgot I had Major pf loaded mags in my kit (and by major, I mean 185pf work in loads) and it was a rather interesting event putting them through this config.......

Thanks for the responses. Mesa is definitely at the top of the list. Vegas is an interesting suggestion........truth be told, my wife and I (after dating 10yrs) were married in Vegas, 2 years later, went back, where she handled and fired her first handgun (a Kimber 45 no less)......leading to her competing in 20 matches so far this year, owning Tanfoglio LC's, and her favourite STI USPSA 1911 in 9mm.......

My wife and I live in Canada, and are avid IPSC shooters. We are looking to travel much more next year, and are considering purchasing a condo/small house in the south west. Our vacation time will be winter weekends, Christmas holidays, level 3/area shoots, etc. Our main focus will be shooting or practicing skills when there, with a little local R&R. We have been considering the Phoenix/Mesa area, or west of Ft.Worth area. Any suggestions on what areas would give us the best access to USPSA ranges, mini matches, practice time? By practice time I don't mean standing at the firing line shooting 10yds at a bullseye target, but transitions, swingers, poppers, etc...... I was originally considering a condo in Mesa, but maybe something more rural would be cost effective if closer to an appropriate range? Scottsdale may be a little price prohibitive. Any input would be appreciated!

Thanks Chandler. Shooting IPSC 40 in Minor so would like to keep 10 in the mag if possible......so was wondering if there were any "tricks" (ie, snips, grinds, etc) that could be used.....

Anyone using the Tripp "System" 40 mags with their STI single stacks? I have some drop issues (been trying to tweak the mags, and they are about 90% right as of now). Question I have though, has anyone tried to use the Hybrid follower in the system mags? I cannot get my system mags to seat with them with 10 rounds loaded.

I just received some of these mags to use in my modified Trojan. I find the extra rounds cause mag flaring and thus don't allow them to drop freely. Have limited success with smooth feeding as well. No problems with my 9 round Tripps, but I really want to load to minor PF for IPSC.

I am using the Tripp 10mm as well in my bull barrelled .40 Trojan. I use the 45 hybrid followers in them. Load: Bullet Frontier 180gr Truncated OAL 1.198 Powder VV N320, 5.5gr PF 176 I have tried the RN FP and had same issues....none on the feed or even after 700 rounds. JFYR

You can use that Ranger.....but as Julien stated, the extra inch will certainly help in the longer distance engagements, mostly from a sight stability perspective.

Trojan.....shot both....just prefer the Trojan. Although mine is now a smattering of SVI bits, bull barrel, DPM recoil system.......and hard chromed to boot......it still says "Trojan" on the slide... . A big improvement has been moving to Tripp 10mm mags...

Anyone know offhand what the grip screw thread size is on the large framed LC? Much appreciated.

Was getting PF of 129 w. Berry's 124's, 4.1gr of N320, and an OAL of 1.135 through a CZ Shadow....

I spoke with Saul, and he is looking at an insert for my Trojan/Racemaster. I found the Para insert has still too much play (similar to the 1911 insert I had originally).

Anyone have this measurement in mm offhand? Need to figure out my issue with my DAA holster, but am not home for a bit to measure mine, and I need Saul to figure it out to get this rectified before a weekend match. Mean the with, not the thickness of the guard, but left to right looking from the bottom of frame width.Thanks!

Offhand, does anyone know the actual thread size for the factory drilled and tapped holes on a Limited Custom?

I received a Limited Custom recently, and have the newer K40 mags (factory 40S&W ammo size...up to 1.135 OAL I think). I use VV N320, and am wondering what loads have been worked up for these mags, preferrably with the N320, to meet major? Anyone have some tried and true recipes for these "short" mags? Appreciate it!!

Quick question, I see that Tanfoglio includes a 5.59kg and 5.09kg mainspring in the case with the pistol........anyone know what spring is actually installed in the new LC 40 when you receive it?

Actually I was looking at the differences between the LC and LC2. I am in Canada as well, so the Tanfoglio version. From what I see from the Canadian importer's website, the lightening cuts are on both models. So if the difference is finish only, I'll be siding on the LC. Can anyone comment on the LC finish (ie, does it have that satin nickel look, hard chromed, gloss or machined, etc)? Unfortunately, not are available to me locally to fondle.....

Aside from the finish and grips, what are the differences between the two? I am a stainless/nickel look guy myself, but trying to figure out what warrants the $300 difference between the two.
