Thanks for the input. It was mostly a "nice to do" project. I run open 2011's and have a Honcho arriving in a couple weeks but this was going to be a side project. Want a home pistol that will run on my 38 SC ammo.... I may look for another top end then...likely more economical. In the meantime I will upgrade the internals and do some polishing. Be a fun open carry piece ....

I see EGW (rail mount...not for me) and Alex's RTS2 option (that fits the Sig but with an overhang) has mixed reviews based on height and location....so aside from those, what are viable options?

Ordered mine Black Friday sales as well. They affirmed in Feb due date was March 9.....was told then they had their fingers crossed for 3 more weeks. So puts me 10 more days to go.

Made up some 8.4gr as well....will be measuring success based on fireball and recoil on a non comped Tanfo soon....not really caring about PF as this is non competitor.

I had a CZ frame done by them. Missed coating on front of frame...they took it back and redid it with an apology. Final product though was perfect.

Okay, so I typically do not have a lot of time (nor patience) playing with my reloader (1050). I just like to make a quick powder drop change and keep reloading. I am looking for a very specific reload. I have a Tanfo Limited Custom in 38 (tweaking to supercomp) with no poppels or comp. Its a smooth barrel/normal application. I have my 1050 set up for Major PF. I want to keep all the same components and settings, just lower the powder a bit (and since I dont have to really worry about gas working the comp, was thinking it should be fairly basic). Anybody have a similar Minor power factor set up with 3N38? I am using CCI500's, HAP 125's (.356) and an OAL of 1.245. My major is 9.5 grains. Was thinking about 7 grains...but thats just a shot in the dark (no pun intended)... Any experiences?

What exactly do you mean by checking breech face bottom angle...dont have a Tanfo in my hands for reference...?

Or maybe better to buy a 9mm version and have the chamber reamed out to accommodate the longer round??

Considering picking up an old stock Tanfo. I have a lot of 38 super comp, and could use as an extra home gun or even an extreme back up if my competition (Honcho 38SC) goes awry. So a few questions; Do the mags handle 1.245 ish ammo? Can the extractor be adjusted by a "home smith" (me) to run super comp? Are the frame holes tapped and threaded? Are these reliable? Easy to add a comp? I have worked on trigger assemblies for Tanfos so can play with that on my own. Thanks!! Rob

How did these end up turning out? I am considering a Limited 38 Super and tuning the extractor to fire off 38 Super comp. Its the only round I reload, and have a lot of components. Also was thinking it would be a good defense pistol as I am sitting on thousands of 38 SC anyway.....not a lot of info on that thought though...

Old hijack and dig up but I faced this today...not a Glock guy but friends are so I picked up a G34 (and couldnt leave it alone so modded it up) and ordered a RHT holster, DAA belt and Racers to use when shooting/teaching. And found out none of the spacers work properly with Glock mags.....Search was my friend and found this...emailed DAA just now.

Good to know, but looking for a home club where I can get some practice in vs standing on a firing line. And with a young family, I am really looking for a range not "too" far from me so I can run out on a Sunday morning and be back in a couple hours. Also for chrony testing etc.

Any recommendations? Considering a move to Perrysburg area. USPSA focused.

I ran both ALOT. For me, CR Speed with insert for single stack, DAA Racers for Double stack.

I put 150k min on one. Simply changed it because it was one of those things that just created doubt and kept me waking up at 2am screaming ... well not really that bad. I change springs on my birthday but keep it clean as buildup in the extractor chamber places stress in areas not intended when then tool the steel and grain direction.

I have wide hands and ride high so always had upward pressure on the weak side safety and dragged the slide. So I run ambi but get the weak side machines down to 1/8”. Still gives me adequate perch when a stage demands weak hand. Have been doing this to all my 1911 variants.

No popples, just comp (a PT Honcho).
