Having shot the match 3 times prior, one thing I missed from this years match... In years past, a lot of pro and am stages were next to one another, so the AMs could see a pro run their equivalent stage. Unfortunately, I didn't get to see a single pro shoot this year. The only pro stage that I was next to was in the pistol bays, but I was busy resetting and didn't get to watch. And I could live without the half-size paper.
-
I'll disagree with those who thought the AM stages were stale. They weren't necessarily complicated, but I saw a LOT of shooters stopped by the buzzer. Maybe next year, the AMs will have more of those hoser rifle targets like the pros.
-
That was the exact reason. Kinda sucks, because that extra step had pretty much zero effect on how that stage went. Actually, there were a couple of easy shotgun doubles on that array if you started all the way to the left. Those ROs worked way too hard to have it all thrown out, thanks for letting us shoot it anyway guys!! Actually, shooting through the pallet pretty much took the no-shoot out of the picture.
-
That was the issue. I guess an earlier shooter made a big issue of it and said that it was unfair. Because of that they had to throw out the stage. They should've just nailed the no-shoot like me.

Good solutions for dealing with handguard heat in an AR

When I'm shooting 100 rounds through a G2 .308 at work pretty much as fast as I can, I resort to the mag well hold for about the last 20 rounds. -
Versamax Competition Tactical 3-gun Review

That ledge does serve a purpose. I'd remove the inner latch spring, polish the latch surface, and make sure you have a mag spring long enough the do the job. -
A poll for you 3 gunners

Wait...that probably means she knows how many guns you have. That seems like a horrible plan! -
Versamax Competition Tactical 3-gun Review
JRicks replied to AirForce2's topic in Shotgun - Technical
Movement of the Feed Latch (shell latch) is limited by the Feed Latch Release at the rear and by its own flex tension at the front (where the shell rim stops coming in/out of the mag tube). The 1 or 2 springs behind the latch do not affect loading the mag tube at all. I understand. -

lol, I completely over looked that, oops now I feel like an idiot for thinking he was serious haha

Oh, simple. Just run the barrel extension shoulder on the barrel down another half thread pitch and cut the breech face and chamber the same amount. Redrill and install the index pin. Easy as pie.

A poll for you 3 gunners
JRicks replied to JRicks's topic in Multi-gun Rules / Stage Design / Match Administration
Actually, I was having a conversation with a coworker about how many "average Joes" were competing compared to folks who had financial help. This isn't a cheap activity, after all. -
A poll for you 3 gunners

I considered polling subsets of several shooting disciplines about 3 gun competition, but the more I thought about it, asking 3 gun shooters about 3 gun made the most sense. -
Hopefully Right Thread >>>>> I am wanting to suppr
JRicks replied to Ken_Bird's topic in Rifle & Shotgun - Technique
You'll want a suppressor that you can disassemble for cleaning when shooting .22lr. Most 5.56 and 7.62 suppressors aren't serviceable. -
It does not. It's locked up via a separate piece that must be manually actuated. That component also serves another purpose related to loading and unloading.

Ding ding.

I was not aware that the AM prize was ever planned as being in order of finish this year. I’ve been to all 4 Pro Am matches and AFAIK the AM table has always been random draw. Steve, in the past, the AM winner walked the prize table first. Not the case this year.

Nothing is welded to that barrel.
-
Could you provide some details as to what was (and wasn't) happening?
-
I had a great time this weekend despite my poor shooting on the first day. Interesting happening: A guy literally took a Seekins upper out of my hands at the AM prize table. I thought that was a neat trick. to Gary, staff, and the ROs.

Best red-dot for open class shotgun
JRicks replied to openclassterror's topic in Shotgun - Technical
Did you just ask that to a bunch of open shooters? -
There have been lots of VS competitions with damage due to the shitty packaging. I think what people are saying is that when you're spending $1300-$1600 on a shotgun it's nice to have it show up in something other than a $5 cardboard box. While I don't have much use for a hard case for a gun that never gets broken down for transport, I can certainly agree with the expectation that the gun and its parts should be packaged securely.

This may be true as mine is in a Sportsman model receiver.
