  1. I've set up a few pistols with the intent of caliber swapping, but I always end up selling off the extra parts and sticking to one setup.
  2. I found some foam 3000 grit at the auto parts store which gets in the nooks and crannies.
  3. The rest is nicely contoured but the little binding post it bolts into was thin aluminum and it broke, so I plan to screw it directly to the mount at two points without the adjustment capacity.
  4. Mine is an air soft thumb rest I modified to fit, although it broke off last match so I plan to d&t the mount and bolt it directly on tonight.
  5. http://henningshootsguns.com/shop/magpads.html Henning's short base pads for small frame would fit the shiny plated 16 rounders you've got there and would fit in the box...
  6. I just re read your OP and it occurs to me that with the Henning trigger set up right the sear may not travel enough to consistently release the FPB. I'll bet the seller or your pistol wasn't using the block, then through it in before he sold it in an attempt to limit his liability if the buyer were to have am accident. Is the hammer stock or aftermarket? The firing pin block safety is designed to work with the crap triggers these pistols roll out of the factory with, complete with long pre/over travel.
  7. I took that measurement from Henning's site for his extra long FP, but it cannot be used with the FP block. If your setup works great without the FPB, either leave it out or work on fixing it with Nealio's suggestions. I'm not a big fan of the blocks, so I take them out; after all, these are race guns, not carry pistols
  8. If you already have 38 mags/brass why not stick with 38?
  9. I don't shoot IDPA so I don't know, but go ahead and pick one up; if it's not legal I'll take it off your hands
  10. Update: I'm still messing with the comp. I've decided 115gr bullets with lots and lots of powder are what's best here, but I'm not quite happy with how flat it shoots with the three port aluminum comp I got from Numrich: I've done some mods I'll detail later when I have more time...
  11. Glad to hear! Did you make an extended firing pin for it?
  12. This is the EAA forum Scott (not 1911/2011), there's only one conversion kit I'm aware of. Intercooler, I know there was a revision in the mags at some point, but I don't know what changed, I had the first version and they didn't lock the slide back.
  13. Lior, I have had both and I can tell you the TS starts out better and has better potential than the Shadow because of its unique trigger bar and trigger return spring design. My TS with the race hammer and polish job is better than all but one 2011 I've dry fired (that one $3,000 custom was AS good ). With the Shadow you have to use a light hammer spring to get a sub 2lb break (taking away from the "crispness"), but my TS trigger is 1lb, 9oz with a 20lb hammer spring and it snaps like glass.
  14. I'm a die hard CZ guy, so my options are pretty limited when it comes to compensators. I used an M14x0.75 small frame Witness comp from Numrich on my TS Open gun, but since their only three port comp turned out to be for .40, it's not quite cutting it. Any suggestions on someone who will basically copy this with some modifications?
  15. Well, now that EAA gave us shade tree gunsmiths by doubling the prices of conversion kits, how about some horse trading? I have a Gold Team 9mm upper and I'd like a Stock II or Limited in 9mm, a long slide might fit the bill but you'll have to sweeten the pot a little. I also have some small frame stuff if you're interested.
  16. Not unless you're shooting a compact, the SP01 pads will hit the frame before the mag seats.
  17. The one Stock III I've seen in the flesh was exactly what you describe: a small frame longslide upper with super sight and a straight barrel; I have seen a picture floating around of a Stock III with a cone barrel like the Limited, but I have no intel on that.
  18. I don't like that Matches are called "elite" pistols as they're the only one without the competition frame; they have the same frame as the standard Witness. The starting price for a competition frame pistol is right where it belongs at about a grand, just like a TS. The TS trigger is far superior to the Witness, but the easy convert ability and the better grip put them on even ground in my eyes although convert ability just went out the window.
  19. The frame safety model does not have a decocker, the decocker model has it mounted on the slide.
  20. Where do you get Berry's in SD?!? Redline Balistics?
  21. That's only a 38% increase, I guess it's better than the 107% increase I was quoted today. The website says $589 for long slide: http://eaacorp.com/conversion-kits/
  22. I want to make sure my shipment arrives as promised before I call again, but if anyone hears anything different, post it here.
