  1. When you say sluggish, do you mean sluggish to cycle like a 45 with 230 gr bullets at 170 of? Or sluggish to transition like steering a battleship?
  2. It's made for airsoft, here's one just like it: http://www.evike.com/products/39062/ I think I paid something like $15 shipped
  3. I've never used the DPMS, but I did try the Sprinco and didn't like it (the secondary spring made it feel bouncy). I definitely don't think a recoil reducer is necessary (or shock buffers for that matter). I have three TSs and have never broken a slide stop; the one which sees the most rounds is a nine major Open gun shooting 115gr bullets over 1450 fps. For USPSA 40 major loads (which are softer than most factory 40 loads) I believe (as long as the recoil spring doesn't bind) you can run as light a spring as will still cycle the slide and shoot tens of thousands if not hundreds of thousands of rounds trouble free.
  4. The standard frame CZ only holds 15 rnds max of .40 in a 140mm mag, so it doesn't make a very good Limited gun (which is wjat the TS is for). 9mm on the other hand has roughly the same capacity potential in the 75 frame or the TS frame.
  5. The trouble with short barreled Open guns is that they take more powder to make major, so they can get downright nasty. You're right that a full sized gun with a 5.4" bull barrel and steel comp steers like a battleship, but if you use a Ti comp, a lightened slide and a fluted barrel (or better yet a bushing barrel/cone adapter), you can make a full sized gun swing like a shorty. During load development you'll appreciate an extra inch of barrel.
  6. Early Tanfoglios had them, now they don't; they seem to work fine without...
  7. It's from Sean Gaines at Power Factor Shooting right?
  8. You can make one from an SP01
  9. Check this one out: http://www.czfirearms.us/index.php?topic=49760.0
  10. That comp looks a little heavy, but besides that it looks great! You'll want to feed that beast all the gas you can and with a big heavy gun I don't you think 115s are too snappy.
  11. I have both and I've never had issues with the standard switch moving while shooting.
  12. I'm in San Diego as well, where are you shooting?
  13. That's very doable, you just need to be sure to get large frame conversions.
  14. You've got the beginnings of a great custom Open gun . Get in on one of these Cheely mounts: http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=206553#entry2297332
  15. It looks like someone had a TS and a CM, did some swapping and sold the leftovers.
  16. I guess that further reinforces my point right
  17. 27th at Pala was switched to a regular USPSA match: https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=923043881054047&id=192412207450555&fs=5&ref=m_notif&notif_t=group_activity
  18. Indeed Caz, it's easy to forget that USPSA shooters looking for soft primers (mainly Production and Revolver shooters) are a small subset of USPSA shooters who are already a tiny subset of the firearms market as a whole.
  19. Two differences: the length of the hammer spring and the trigger bar reset mechanism. The longer hammer spring of the CZ provides more linear resistance during the DA stroke, while the Tanfo stacks slightly before the break. It's also easier to get a lighter DA pull weight and reliable ignition on the CZ; CZs can get down in the 4-5# range where I've never heard of a Tanfo DA under 6#. The Tanfoglio uses a trigger plunger to reset the trigger bar as opposed to the bar spring in the CZ, I'm not sure how much difference this makes, but it's the other difference.
  20. I would sell my 38 and buy a 9 before I converted. Because everything is custom fit the extra parts lose a lot of value.
