  1. I think EAA wants ~$800 for a new Limited upper but you might find one used for less. If you're going to buy a donor frame and a Limited upper the Hunter is the same frame as the Limited.
  2. Are you sure you saw a Stock II in 40? I know there are some great deals on Stock Is in all calibers and SIIs in odd calibers, but I didn't see any in 9 or 40.
  3. First off, 40 GTs don't come with a non ported barrel only 38s and 9 (so handloading well beyond SAAMI specs is not a requirement for the gun to cycle), a Stock II 40 barrel is what you'd want. Second there's no front sight cut. If a Limited GT is what you're looking for, here it is: http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=211028#entry2346208 Some slide cuts and you're good to go! I even have the grips and magwell for you.
  4. Awesome deal! I suggest you use an escrow service though, I got hosed out of $625 (even with a USPS money order) on Armslist.
  5. A buffer shortens the stoke of the slide by ~0.1" and with my TS it lead to unreliable feeding. The CZ stroke is already 0.200" shorter than a 1911/2011 so I don't think it has enough stroke to spare.
  6. If it still racks smooth I wouldn't worry about it.
  7. You didn't drill out the pin hole before driving the pin back in did you?
  8. Does it still cycle smooth? If so I'd say you just made it more accurate
  9. Now THAT is something to sink your teeth into! The hunter is a standard frame, but that pistol you have is a competition frame just like the Gold Team, ready to go.
  10. It says compensated, but I don't think there are any ports, just a solid block for a front sight.
  11. Welcome, where are you shooting? I shot Iron Sights last night.
  12. I'm pretty sure the Xtreme line of pistols have not come to the US yet, EAA has a nasty habit of making promises they can't keep; which brings me to zhunter's point: EAA has a tradition of terrible customer service, overpriced spare parts with a terrible selection. Henning Walgren does his best to support us, but he has only a few parts available. On the other hand, Stuart Wong at CZ Custom is a great guy who frequents this forum and will take good care of you, plus CZ USA offers a good selection of factory parts at reasonable prices. If the pistols are the same price, but the CZ is new, take the CZ.
  13. Not really: http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=470670036 http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=470384261 The CZ comes with three mags, the Limited comes with one.
  14. HS6 is the only decent option

    Czechmate

A Czechmate for $2,300?!? Get it!!!
  16. I've tried many and like the STI the best by far.
  17. Did you try a heavier recoil spring with the 180s? I suspect it would help the front sight return faster.
  18. I did this experiment, I like you expected 40 minor to feel the same as 9 minor given the same weight bullet, same powder, same charge, but I was disappointed. The same Stock II with barrels in 40 and 9: 3.5gr of Clays under a 135gr plated bullet at 1.135". While the 9mm load made 126PF, the 40 load made only 103PF and was noticeably more harsh (if the recoil from a 103PF 40 round can be seriously described as such!).
  19. Sure about the 1.145" oal ? thought It was 1.135" the max oal for the K40s Every bullet shape will be a little different, I just gave you 1.135" because it's what I've used with truncated cone bullets; in the end you'll need to figure out for yourself how long you can load with your bullets.
  20. If someone put it together, we can take it apart! I've never tried, but I'll take a look when I get a chance, I think there's a staked pin in the end to keep the screw in.
