  1. I just had my Stock III stripped down and weighed it next to a Hunter frame (Limited) and it's 0.9oz heavier.
  2. Well, you know what they say about opinions... Here's my experience: I have both, I have bought every piece of 38 in my stash which shrinks every time I shoot it, conversely I have never bought a piece of 9 brass yet my collection continues to grow. I'm with Foxbat, obsessing about my brass really takes away from my shooting experience. I'm not as good a shooter as Mike, so he can take my input with the appropriate amount of salt
  3. I'd like to trade the ambi safeties from my Stock III for the extended single sided safety from a Limited Pro
  4. I don't suspect anyone has used it for 9 major, for one I don't thing it's been available in the US for more than a few months; I'm a big fan of SP2 so when I saw Vectan powder for sale I looked very closely at all of them. Based on available load data and the manufacturers descriptions, I didn't see anything available which looked like a good powder for Open.
  5. AO might work, but probably not as good as AutoComp, HS6, CFE Pistol, etc. It's a single base flake shotgun powder (albeit a slow one).
  6. I've inserted set screws from the inside, ground and polished them, welded them up and concluded neither is really worth the effort.
  7. I believe when historians look back on this century they'll mark the beginning of the second industrial revolution with the distributed means of production and the widespread use of distributed networks. We live in exciting times
  8. I take material off the ends of the hooks to shorten them, but only polish the surface where it catches on the sear. I've never case hardened after and never worn out a hammer, but then again I don't have any with more than ~10K rounds on them so maybe it's a good idea.
  9. I've never had a 380 sneak past the second station, are you saying they get all the way through before you notice?
  10. I wouldn't stress about it, the Tanfos have four holes on each side:
  11. Here's my take on the "load as long as possible" thing as I understand it: early 1911/2011 pistols/mags which were designed for the .45 would not function with small frame .40 rounds unless loaded long, the added benefit was that loading long has the effect of reducing chamber pressures which can become problematic when loading fast powders behind heavy bullets. The tradeoff is that longer rounds take more powder to make the same velocity. My thought is that if your mags/chamber/powder/bullets work at SAAMI length, there isn't any advantage to loading long. Some might say loads are more accurate when the bullet is closest to the rifling, but that's not consistent with my experience.
  12. I think he's looking for the spare GT barrel with no holes right? I looked for a long time and never found one, then got one in 38 and turned it into this: I'm actually glad it is 38 because its given me the freedom to drill more holes (the little comp leaves much to be desired).
  13. Should find it in a hardware store, I think it's a course thread metric...
  14. I think my next CZ Open project is going to be a real head turner
  15. I shipped a box to Canada which showed up more than six months later
  16. This takes all the fun out of picking out my food, but when I go hungry it's not good. What kinda fee is associated with grocery delivery ? You have to be an Amazon Fresh member, which is Prime + $200/yr ($300/yr total)
