  1. That infinity is AWESOME! However, from what I read, I will never feel the same shooting anything else after an INFINITY
  2. thanks for the info. I just figured it did since it felt like there was almost NONE on my buddies flat faced tiffer pull
  3. The forward set sear and trigger decreases overtravel and pretravel. The AEK will smooth and lighten the trigger, but doesn't do much for the travel. (I'm assuming you didn't install the FSS kit since it's not legal for production)Yes, that's exactly it. I do not have the fss kit as it is ill legal for production. I do however have the competition action kit and it has made my trigger significantly better, but I still want to limit the over travel without modifying anything externally. So,I am working on an internal trigger stop to limit over travel
  4. The fss trigger is all about pre travel and over travel, and The aluminum trigger helps make it feel more crisp than the polymer factory hindge trigger. It also aids in "felt weight" of the trigger pull. Meaning: a 4lb trigger with the flat faced fss WILL feel lighter than a 4lb stock trigger. The FSS kit is said to eliminate 75% of pretravel, and I believe it has over travel adjustment. I have only handled a friends flat faced trigger m&p, but it is awesome(still deciding if I wanna take myself out of production and into limited by simply adding a trigger)
  5. Not that you care, but I have the APEX competition action enhancement kit. But, I didn't put the lightened striker spring in. Heard too much about light primer strikes too take a chance. I also polished everything to do with the trigger, and even though it's not as light as it could be with the light striker spring, it is definetly a smooth, crisp trigger now. Only down fall is too much over travel.
  6. I am working on an internal trigger stop to eliminate over travel, because while I don't know if there is more since the apex kit install, but it is definitely too much for my liking. FWIW my gun is a production competition only and NOT for self defense.
  7. I missed the monthly steel match this past Sunday or I was going to get to run some stages with a 9mm edge. I've handled and eagle 6.0, and the CZ ts 9mm. Haven't shot either but the trigger was better on the STI(not sure how fair it was because it had an awesome trigger job). I am definitely leaning towards a gun that can go more than 1 division/discipline
  8. Or, Since I shoot a production M&p I could move to a m&p pro w/apex flat fss trigger, and all the other goodies to make sure I like limited and stay with the same grip for both divisions.... Man this forum is making my head hurt already. And I thought I had my mind made up
  9. Never thought about getting the 40 tac sport, but that does make sense to go that route and add the 9mm barrel and extra mags. Te only reason I am even considering limited in steel is because I carry and practice with iron sight guns, and feel like it may take a total retraining to master the optics of open, but since steel is a race I wanted the next best thing(limited)
  10. Another reason for thinking on the CZ was reliability. I shoot with a guy that shoots a CZ 75(not sure on model) but he claims that he is near 5k rds with NO issues at all. But there are also several guys that claim their 9mm 1911/2011s have given them zero problems aswell. My buddy has an eagle in 40s&w and it fits my hand soo good, but I have big hands and the CZ feels right at home aswell
  11. Hey there. I'm totally new to the forum and pretty new to competitive shooting, but I am really considering my next(limited) gun purchase. This is mostly for steel challenge, but I may move on to uspsa/idpa soon enough. one that I've fondled recently at a local shop was the CZ tac sport. I really liked it except for the black front sight(easy enough to change), and at $1150ish it seems like a good deal with 3-20rd mags. Next, I've been looking at STI edge 9mm. It seems really nice with a lot of high reviews, but I have been unable to handle one locally. Most of what I have read says they come with only one mag, and extras are $pricey$. Also, I won a caspian slide at a match a couple weeks ago, and while I know that it would be more expensive to build it, is it worth it??? Hopefully someone with more experience can weigh in on this decision.
  12. I shot a glock 19 at my first steel match 3 months ago, in production. The slide bit my hands horribly under fast draw and fire, something I've never experienced I'm static target shooting. So I moved to an m&p full size, and cured that issue, but after much reading(mostly on this forum), the apex kit will put my m&p into limited, and I feel that I would be out gunned right off the bat by the perfect single action triggers off the 1911/2011s. I believe that if you already shoot single actions well, then limited would be a great place to start, and there will be plenty of competition to drive you to practice harder and get faster.
  13. Thanks and sorry about the double topic post soo soon
  14. Hey everyone. After numerous Google searches ending up on this forum I decided to join up and, and try to learn some things. I got into informal Handgun shooting a couple years ago, and 3 months ago I shot a club level "steel challenge match." And it is a BLAST
