  1. FYI - it's FTE (Failure to Eject) not FTF (Failure ot Feed)... Sounds like the slide is just too dry...you need more than "a very small amount of oil" on the slide.
  2. What is the exact FTF problem? was it not going into battery? did it strip the top round? It could be a dry gun...when was the last time you cleaned it?
  3. Was it level 1 match? Level 1 allows for such a request in lieu of constructing barriers...
  4. So you call somebody an A-hole for applying the rules as written fairly... I'll refrain from making my next comment...
  5. most guns, the safety doesn't work (engage) when the hammer is down. If that's the the gun was designed, then it's good to go...
  6. I don't remember having to back the wheel all the way out...but OK... I only run with 4 mag pouches...
  7. try rotating the pouch forward so it's not tilting as much when you pull it out... The tension button is not designed to tighten to hold the spacer...it's designed to tighten to hold the mag...
  8. yes, there is enough tension that they don't fall out on their own but slides out with ease... When you are pulling out the mag, are you pushing and pulling or just pulling? maybe you are pushing down on the spacer thus pulling it out...
  9. no problems with mine...when you put the spacer back in, make sure they "snap" in place...
  10. You are making sure that the shooter complies with the WSB and handgun ready condition...everything else is coaching...It's not specific exemptions...
  11. Correct, you do not need to tell (coach) them. The WSB Does say hammer down - indirectly. It says gun loaded per 8.2 which defines division requirement.
  12. It is the RO's job to NOT start the shooter if they are not in compliance with the start position and handgun ready condition...it is not coaching...
  13. remind the shooter that it's an unloaded start and reissue the "Make Ready" command...
  14. The problem with the 19x is you lose velocity...might be an issue trying to make power factor. I run a 34 in Production and 17 in CO...same ammo makes 135 PF in PD and 130 in CO...
  15. the start position is described in the Written Stage Briefing... and this: 8.3.1 “Make Ready” – This command signifies the start of “the Course of Fire”. Under the direct supervision of the Range Officer the competitor must face down range, or in a safe direction as specified by the Range Officer, fit eye and hearing protection, and prepare the handgun in accordance with the written stage briefing. The competitor must then assume the specified start position.
  16. if they refused, then they can shoot in a different division...

  18. Actually, the C class or below shooters are the ones that are more careful of holstering and doing it slower. the B class and above shooters are the ones more complacent and not paying attention to holstering. When playing in our sport, you are expected to be safe. I would not recommend a new shooter to play in our sport. having finger outside the trigger guard should be second nature, not naturally on the trigger as you say. So I disagree that anything more than "make ready" is necessary. When I RO, I do watch the gun go into the holster and if I see finger in the trigger and/or the safety is off, I will remind the shooter if there is time...so far so good...I just saved somebody from a DQ this past weekend because he forgot to put his safety on prior to putting it in the holster...
  19. if it sits in the cart and no one's near it and someone walks by and it points at their feet...who gets DQ?
  20. IMO - it's different than being slung because you are handling the PCC when you put it on your foot...therefore sweeping... Not sure about a slung PCC and bending over...I don't see any rule on that. If you have a holstered pistol and you bend over, your muzzle just might be pointing at other competitors, but it's not a DQ. As long as you are not touching the slung PCC with your hand, I don't see it as a DQ. Of course, one should reasonably try not to do that for more than one reasons. The reasonably upright was for you holding the PCC in your hand after the If Clear Flag command.
  21. Hence the rulebook OK - I reread your post...I originally thought you were asking the question...hence my raging posts... Yes, It is allowed to be "pointed" at someone...however it's not sweeping. Sweeping is an action while handling your weapon, whether it's a pistol or PCC.
