Meters fine, looks like Clays, I am running 4.3gr behind a 125gr Moly/Poly coated bullet @ 1.150". I just use for plinking and have not really tried to check accuracy. Lee

Got the same abort on my Gen1 iPad, works fine on my iPad Air.

I have version 3.8 and its says Nitro 100, Hodgdon Clays, or VV N310 are all about the same. Nowadays I guess it is more about what you can find rather than the best thing QL says. Lee

You most likely felt a Signature sized grip. It is by far the most popular. Our large grip is about the same size as the polymer grip and our small is for folks with small hands. Lee

The shooter was the on deck shooter and did NOT hear the instructions as indicated. He was totally shocked when he was told he was DQ'd. He arbitrated and the DQ was overturned.

Yup, steel over aluminum for this use case. We add tool steel rail inserts for our aluminum frame but I still wouldn't recommend it for a competition gun. Lee

The MD was wrong. USPSA is a safety first organization and it has served them well. If we relax such to the point that dropping a gun during a COF is acceptable we are opening the door to having bad things happen. New shooter or not, it is a DQ, period. Yes, it sucks but the shooter will most likely come back knowing better from a hard lesson. Lee

Well, they are/have done it. They are in a new shop with MUCH more space. The wait times went up while they got everything setup. They are running full speed now and the wait time is coming down. They are now bringing additional services in-house to speed things up even more. Believe me, no one works harder than Brandon and Sandy, typical work week is 7 days from 7:30AM to 7:00PM. Also, just like they say....good things come to those who wait. Order the first one and wait a while, then order one every 6 months and all is good! Lee

You are just a person who likes to argue. I did not say that a Bedell, Cheely, etc are Kia's in comparison. This tread is about SVI Pistol prices, if you don't like the price or don't see the value, don't buy one. I bet however, if the price was the same as whatever else you either have or want you would select one. But as all you want to do is sit behind a keyboard and argue, that is cool too. Mike, You did not read what I wrote in the light I meant it. There are plenty of great guns built by quite a few gunsmiths who know how to do things right. You choose what works for you and that's great. I will choose what works for me. All is good. See you on the range. Lee

There are several, most already listed but to be clear. A bunch of good parts put together by someone who knows what they are doing could be a good gun. With that said, most likely it is a frame/slide by STI, ignition parts by someone else, safeties someone else. probably a plastic grip, and everything warrantied by who? The gunsmith, STI, EGW, EE, Ed Brown, Kart, KKM, Bedell, Brazos? I am not saying someone cannot get a great gun built as such. BUT, you cannot get an all billet, interchangeable breechface slide, multi-texture, multi-trigger guard profile grip pistol ALL supported by a single company with a reputation for excellent customer service. Sure, some of our parts break, some customers don't get everything they want (you have no idea how many folks with 5 plus year old broke parts expect a free replacement) but Sandy and Brandon are top notch folks who are in the business to build the absolute best product available. Due to materials (frames are available from billet aluminum, titanium, stainless and carbon steel), heat treat process, attention to detail, coatings, and the desire for perfection they cost more. If you are one who is convinced a Kia is just a good of a car as a Mercedes or BMW or other high-end car, no one will convince you that an SVI is better than a STI. That's ok, I just know better. Long before I was a sponsored shooter of theirs and before I worked there (on occasion I do website work and more rarely I work on parts). I was a full price retail paying customer. The first new factory built SVI I bought has been sold on and flipped a few times but I know who owns it now. It still is tight as a bank vault and I sold it with 25k 8 years ago. Not many guns built on lesser quality part have I ever seen remotely close. Yeah, I know, someone will pipe up and say they have an STI with 100k rounds and tighter than mine but if true, it would be extremely rare. Cast/forged parts are not the quality of full billet, period. But again, I am not going to convince those who don't want to be. Its ok, I bet we will both be happy shooting whatever it is we are shooting on the range.

Nope, they make quality parts. They do not however make 100% of the parts that make up a complete pistol. Caspian makes almost every part but they are cast, forged or some from bar stock. Not all... Lee

There is no comparison. ALL the other gunbuilders (1911/2011) mostly use STI/Caspian parts. While not bad, they are not 100% billet machined parts. ALL other builders use parts from various manufactures. Again, not bad but there are a collection of parts fitted mostly by hand or manual mills/lathes and cannot match CNC based machining. I will also say that I have never seen another custom gun builder pay as much attention to fit and finish as Brandon does. They are expensive and as the saying goes, you get what you pay for. Lee

We won't sell aluminum grips for anything other than minor. The material will not hold up to the forces of major. Lee

Of course I am going to say yes, they are worth it but I will add some butter. The SV grips are the only metal grip option with different sizes, textures, logo cuts and trigger guards. They are also well tested in the field and have an extremely low cracking rate. If properly fit, we have not had a single unit crack in years. The STI's have had known cracking issues, don't know about the PT's but you have very limited options there. You get them in one size untextured in the STI and textured or not in the PT. I would suggest you feel the various SV models/textures and decide what you want. Also, not knocking the STI or PT but if you feel the quality of the SV's you will see a tremendous attention to detail. Worth it in my opinion to get what you want, not just what is offered. Yeah, your comment about never seeing one up for sale in the classified is a clue...they are the best product available and the price reflects the quality of material, machining, heat treatment, and options. Like DKATOS says, why drive a Kia when you can afford a BMW. There is a huge difference. (No offense to Kia, STI or PT, just stating the facts.) Lee
