  1. Thanks for the heads up. I know of Taran's work . Def good , but Mike is def the smith i'm looking for . I had contacted him a while back and we had a dialogue going , but i can't seem to get him again. My second would be Benny Hill at Triangle
  2. I wanted to send him my m2 to get snazzified but i can't seem to get a response on here or boomershooter, his email....nothing. Does anyone know of a better way of getting ahold of him. I had a phone number for him a while back but it doesn't seem to be working. thanks Aaron
  3. That is some BS!!!! If you want to be technical like Benny said, there is no loaded round in the gun. A hull is certainly not a loaded round. I'd have protested a whole bunch
  4. I'll be snagging one soon i hope, and i'll be contacting you to do so. Do you guys get out to any matches in Florida? I'd love to say hello at one if i can.
  5. Well what i did is attach it to the fork with some nuts and bolts i found at home depot , only issue is no matter how tight they are , they rotate. I'm planning on drilling a second hole to affix it much much more solid to the fork .
  6. She shoots uspsa in south florida with the South Florida Pistol Club . If you're in the area come out to a match at markham park on thursday nights ( weather permitting ) and 1 -2 sundays a month . Aaron
  7. I would have a blast running that with my g19 and my dad's old ithaca 37 , i mean , i'll be reloading like a m'f'er , but who cares , it would be a good time. Shoot like a man!
  8. That's a great division , almost like a production version of heavy metal . As for me, i run a benelli m2 already , well i'm going to be soon. I had a JM pro and i sold it a while back , so i have yet to take the benelli out . I agree with you, buy quality get quality. I was just surprised to see it. I'd be curious to knock one around . As for the akdal, i thought firebird regarded them as being better platforms that require less tinkering to work properly, but it's sad to hear that they were failing. I had high hopes of getting on at some point . But for me right now i'm sticking to tac optics
  9. http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php/products_id/712005542 Boom! At half the price of a benelli m2 i'm sure it'll.........fail horribly in almost all areas !!
  10. True , and i agree. I was just shocked that they were able to copy the inertia system. Who knows how well, but whatever. I do like the AKDAL 1919 though. Much better starting platform then a Saiga 12 for an open or sd shotgun
  11. I was one of those people tripping over themselves to get the gun. My experience was this : After placing an order , i received the gun after 2 months . I was very very excited . I replaced the safety with a larger easier to use one and replaced the front sight. That was all. My gun never ran well . It intermittently would fail to feed. Shells would get hung up. That gun actually made 2 trips to Mossberg on their dime and never ran correctly. Not just that , the slugs were over 2' high and left at 50 yards . That attempt at accuracy isn't good enough for 3 gun shooting. What the difference is , is that in 3 gun the test of a gun's function is really put...to the test? ... puns aside you're shooting a shotgun VERY fast , reloading the entire mag tube numerous times and emptying it in a hurry. Often in very dusty or dirty conditions and in fairly quick succession . A lot of 3 gun matches tend to be shotgun heavy or at least equal amounts shotgun . Even tactical guys don't punish their guns like this on such a regular basis unless you're training other people . That being said , what the issue with mossberg is that they are totally hit or miss. I know of people running JM pros that run like tops . I also know just as many if not a few more people who ended up selling them. I asked myself if I trusted the gun with my life and that answer was no.....if I can't even say that , it's not good enough to use in competition
  12. Anyone seen this yet ? http://www.girsan.com/en/mc-312-shotgun Totally nuts. What's with turkey and shotguns? And also a bunch of sig, cz, and beretta copies. May be worth getting and banging around. Who knows, it may be better then trying to run a JM Pro
  13. I have done this . I had a jm , shot well but was VERY finicky about ammo. It didn't reliably run ....well anything. I have a benelli m2 and i'm happy as a clam. You can't go wrong with versamax, benelli, FNH....you can find m2's for about 1100-1200 . I love me some Jerry Miculek and the JM pro would need a ton of work to run like Jerry's. But for 600 bucks it's a fantastic gun for occasional range fun, but not as a bullet proof 3 gun gun
  14. I just installed a drop in CMC tactical flat one stage trigger. They quote it at 4.5# According to the crappy wheeler pull gauge i have it's closer to 2# and by my feel i'd have to concur . I absolutely love this trigger. For the price ( about 80 bucks less then a geissle ) it rocks. The only thing i would like is slightly less travel overall , but , that's nit picking . Installation couldn't be easier and it comes with anti walk trigger pins. I got mine from shooter's connection
  15. damn Mark i didn't realize you had one, i would have snagged it for my new barrel. I ended going with the Geissle
  16. Ahhhh pembroke gun and range. It's an old school poorly ventilated anything goes range. I used to go there more often then i do now. I like the guys there but it's not the safest range . Less then a few months ago someone committed suicide there and you do sometimes get clientele that leaves much to be desired . But for down and dirty holster work , can't beat it. 12 bucks no time limit. I would recommend Nexus but right now i'm having a huge issue with a policy they have on charging you to pass a test so you are allowed to do holster work. 20 bucks to pass a test for holster work 20 bucks to pass a test for rapid fire work 20 for some tactical license that i don't know about So until that practice is done away with i'm not recommending Nexus to anyone. It's a massive massive ripoff . I need to go up to okeechobee with my long gun , i have a bolt action aics gun that i need break in. I'm hoping to get up to Universal shooting academy soon for 3 gun and action steel. I'm also going to try and make it out thursday night for markham if its not raining. I finally have a load worked up for my limited gun , so i'm good to go ! Let me know the next time you're over at pembroke , i'll see if i can meet you there. If not i'll hopefully see you at markham.
  17. Hey i finally get to use my sling in competition .....sweet . Here's where an adaptive sling would shine i think , as long as you are fast with it.
  18. Mark you're a beast . A shorty 300 AAC I have yet to see that sir . WITH A CAN! what a great home defense gun . Quiet , one shot effective, small and easy to get around. I'm impressed !
  19. For me , my local matches don't chrono. Not so anal about it I guess. Personally if i'm shooting locally i don't much care if someone is making PF. It's only to their detriment when they shoot a real match and now have trouble controlling their snappier gun.
  20. Oh man , i miss the mountains and desert so much. You could basically shoot every day of the year . But i'm ecstatic to be back in so fla with my freedoms in tact . Where are you shooting at these days ?
