  1. I had the same experience using his -20% trigger coming in right at 4.5# without any break-in from usage. IMO, having a solid, positive reset is important to Robert when doing his trigger package. And I fully understand that as I tried the GG competition straight trigger kit and ended up putting the intermediate TB spring in with the competition sear springs as I felt the reset was a bit too weak with the competition TB spring. One thing that really stands out is all the different triggers/springs/packages that are available for about any shooter's personal liking. It's a win-win IMO!
  2. Yes, I fully understand the purpose of the weld spots..... ASAP, I'll take the FCU and Striker Assembly apart for thorough understanding. Thanks for sharing your knowledge!
  3. Just got my P320 MAX back from Robert and due to recovery, have not had a chance to completely disassemble the FCU for detailed inspection. I did also receive his "Cradle" trigger which does not use any "weld spots" or travel screws of any kind. I did notice the weld spot on the back of the trigger bar. Would sure like to hear any additional details/mods that you may want to share as to his modifications.
  4. @Michael303If your not experiencing any bullet setback during chambering of the rounds, I can assure you this load is not a high pressure one! And I agree with @HesedTech, it looks like a spring and/or lockup issue with the fire control system. Good luck with your build!
  5. Some good info...............
  6. Sounds good! I'd also take a close look at the striker assembly as it's another part of that "break"........... Good luck! And be sure and report back your findings.
  7. While I haven't had any range time with the new set up, I did question Robert concerning the as-delivered pull weight. He replied that the pistol is shipped with a +10% Trigger Bar Spring for positive reset. He also included 2 additional TBSs that are -20% for overall weight reduction......... If your pull has doubled after 800 rounds, I would do a close detail strip of the FCU to make sure all the springs that affect pull weight are intact........

    SIG P320MAX

IMHO, I would rather have it included with my MAX and not need it; as to need it and then have to turn around and purchase one! And as I've already replaced the barrel, guide rod, trigger, etc; I feel that there's very few of us that actually take a pistol out of the box and just start competing with it! It could also be the basis for an open build, but how many actually go that route given the amount of open ready pistols that are available and "ready to go"? Plus they are available for about any budget! https://s3.uspsa.io/media/Survey_Results.pdf

    SIG P320MAX

Now, after some modifications, I am expecting much better accuracy!
  10. If the Striker Spring is different for the X5 Legion, I'm having a tough time seeing it listed on any of the vendors websites. One of the sites I use list the "striker assembly" as: https://sigsauerparts.com/sig-sauer-p320-striker-assembly/ Anyone able to show a site that lists different striker springs for the X5 Legion series vs other P320 varients? Thank!
  11. I too never heard of using anything other than the stock striker spring; and Robert just finished my P320 MAX. Don't recall any optional striker springs mentioned. If you need some stock springs: https://sigsauerparts.com/sig-sauer-p320-striker-spring/ Also check that your Striker Reset Spring is not missing and or mangled.............. https://sigsauerparts.com/sig-sauer-p320-striker-reset-spring/ Another good vendor: https://www.midwestgunworks.com/sig-sauer-p320/striker-springs.html
  12. There not as hot as I was running in the stock barrel; but he told me for my 1:16 twist to aim for 1050-1100 with a 124/125JHP. They test with the Hornady 124 XTP..............
  13. After extensive discussion with Luke McIntire at KKM, he disclosed some of the components/criteria they use when testing the 9mm barrels for max accuracy and function.......... I'm thinking with the velocities they claim these barrels like, it's a bit easier to get there with the N330 vs N320. But again, that's just a WAG of mine..........
  14. Will do! Have some N330 enroute; and after I'm finished with this medical restriction, I'll be testing for somewhere around 1050-1100fps with my 124/125 JHPs. Same with the MAX; the KKM has excellent fitment with the slide!
  15. Some excellent info in this related thread................seems that "most" Legions want a lot of velocity to get any kind of accuracy:
  16. Just received the MAX back from The Sig Armorer; and have to say after some limited dry firing, his new Cradle Trigger along with his Competition Action Job feels very good! Included are a couple extra TB springs that allows the pull to drop ~1.5#. Robert stated the KKM barrel required little to no fitting...........IMO, lock-up feels perfect! Also after talking with Luke at KKM, I'm going to try some N330 in my load development. Got about 10 more days of restricted activity from my surgery, then it's off to the range for some bench rest/chrono tests. I hope to have some positive results to share once I find the load this KKM really likes while getting in some serious range practice.
  17. Finally found a jug at a US retailer.............had to pay WAY TOO MUCH for the powder and Hazmat; but it was the only option I could find at the moment. Thanks everyone for looking!
  18. Looking for recommendations on where I can purchase 4# of N330! Several "retailers" online, but when they have a dirt cheap price and tell me HazMat is included in the price, my better judgement kicks in! Have checked all the popular retailers such as Midway, Grafs, MidSouth, Powder Valley, etc. Thought someone here might know of a legit shop that sells and ships to KY. Thanks!
  19. Farmer: Thanks for the heads up!
  20. Looking at the instruction set for the Lyman Micrometer die, it does offer two different seating stems: HP or RN! https://www.lymanproducts.com/media/catalog/product/7/7/7700980_micrometer_seating_die_instructions.pdf IMO, this die sets up and adjusts very similar to the Redding Pro Micrometer Seating Die that I use! I would also be using the HP seating stem for bullets such as you described above (Everglades JHP V2). I do see they are described as a "RN" bullet, but that's a bit misleading IMO. Compare the Everglades to the Zero and/or Precision Deltas: https://benstoegerproshop.com/zero-9mm-125-gr-jacketed-hollow-point-jhp-bullet-projectiles-2-000/ https://www.precisiondelta.com/products/9mm-124gr-jhp/ Over the years, using the same Redding Die, I have developed a note book that lists precise COAL/OAL settings on the micrometer for any bullet size/style I have used. And it is VERY repeatable as long as I maintain the same loading setup on the press. And I always set up and test the seating and other die settings with a full shellplate. Running a single case through the press (RL1100) will get me close, but a full shell plate gives greater consistency for the seating depth/OAL I'm after. HTHs!
  21. These Everglades are very similar to the Zero and Precision Delta JHPs that I load; and I always choose, if given a choice, the seating stem that seats on the ogive vs the nose. I'm currently using a Redding Competition Seating Die; and IIRC, it only provides one stem side for seating off the ogive of most bullets. If your die utilizes a combo SWC/RN stem, I'd do some testing to determine the tip that primarily pushes on the ogive. HTHs

    X5 Legion accuracy

Very interesting! And thanks for the details!
  23. BTW: If you happened to be shooting the Federal American Eagle 147, then by all means you would be in the 145+ PF range......... https://www.federalpremium.com/handgun/american-eagle/american-eagle-handgun/11-AE9FP.html Just in case.......
  24. While I have used and chrono'd the 150g Syntech in 2 different competition pistols; and have noticed slight fps variations from different lot numbers, I have never found a round that chrono'd at a 966+ velocity when the "published" velocity is 890fps for a 133.5PF. https://www.federalpremium.com/handgun/syntech/syntech-action-pistol/11-AE9SJAP1.html If yours is chrono'ing that high I would definitely contact Federal for discussion! Especially being shot from a quality Gen5 barrel! And, IIRC, the 150 Syntech is USPSA certified and will not encounter chrono'ing at any match.
