  1. Missed this thread when it was really going, but just got caught up. I think some differences between Tac Ops and Limited would be cool, but not sure how I feel about a pump shotgun. It seems like a lot of people don't have a pump gun ready for 3 gun. Then again, it's easier than setting up a .308, as someone said. I don't have a problem with some differences between the different major matches either. It's their match, and they can run it how they want. However, the only thing I really don't understand is the 8+1 loaded shotgun start and the 9+0 cruiser ready start. Why do you get to have one extra in your magazine tube just because that shell is not in your chamber? If you have an unloaded start at a pistol match you can't have 11 rounds in your Production magazine, same goes for limited, however many rounds your limited mag holds. I've asked a few people this question, but no one really has an answer. Could it possibly have originated with USPSA rules with someone having 8 in the tube and one on the lifter, therefore 9+0, but still only 8 in the tube?
  2. I like Taylor Freelance. I like that they go together with 2 screws, and just feel more solid to me. It's still not too difficult to take apart, but I'm using them for 3-gun. Therefore I don't have to reload often, and don't feel the need to take them apart. Might be different if I was using them for Limited USPSA and they got dropped a lot. Then again, it's a Glock, I've never taken apart any of my Production mags in the middle of a match.
  3. North Texas Multigun did some weeknight shotgun steel matches, but that particular range had to close. The 3 gun matches held currently are great and have had some big shotgun stages.
  4. Try it on some steel a little farther, and if it works for you, great. I have had trouble with 1 oz loads knocking down some bigger poppers at farther distances. Of course I like to choke a little wide as well.
  5. I bought a 19, has never had a malfunction (knock on wood). Best I could tell it was hardly even fired.
  6. Thanks for all the work, it's really looking good. Looking forward to it!!
  7. I'm shooting Double Tap on Friday, but might try to make it down for this Just need to mooch off my friends house on lake LBJ...
  8. Also what I was wondering, the recoil spring may be a bit too heavy (for lighter loads) if the brass is not ejecting far. I'm not an experienced gunsmith, but the first 4000 rounds may have gotten just enough build up/friction/whatever for this to show up.
  9. Are y'all shooting with headlights on? Haven't fully decided. Doesn't seem necessary for rifle and shotgun, but maybe it might help light up the fiber optic on the pistol. May also be needed if we have to run between positions without a gun in hand.
  10. I'm cheap, so I just turned the barrel/mag tube clamp out to the side a little, and instead of clamping to the barrel, it clamps to a smaller flashlight just fine. (not the 1" bodies, but 0.8" or so) Seems strong enough to work. We'll find out... I believe there is a rail you can screw into a Nordic clamp.
  11. I need to make it down there one time on my way to Houston. It's not too far from Dallas. Sounds like great matches.
  12. Yep.. I run the Jager Striker with a Wolf 4.5 Spring and I never have light strikes.. I think the Jager Striker is .003 longer tip.. This is what I have as well, I had a problem with light strikes with the Jager striker and 4# spring on some very hard Tula primers (also some not quite seated all the way, as they all fired with a second strike). I swithced to the 4.5# striker spring, and that will set anything off. I haven't had a single light strike since, even with hard Tula primers. I like the crispness and reset of the 4.5# spring a little better as well. Although that is mostly mental as I can tell a difference dry-firing, but probably not in a match.
  13. Just got my app mailed, looking forward to it! DTC last year was my first major USPSA match.
  14. Wonder what the range looks like, a lot of rain in Texas last night. It should clear up and should be windy today, so that should help. Prayers for those in West, TX, will be driving right by there later today.
  15. This link says targets are scored neutralized or not, don't see anything about cover, at least on this page. http://www.lssa.us/en-us/world3gunmatch/matchinformation.aspx
  16. Great matches here!! 550 yards? I gotta quit this limited crap!
  17. I believe so. I just sent mine in a week or 2 ago and my check was cashed. I guess that means I'm in?
  18. How do you like the 14# Wolff? I shot regular power Wolff recoil spring with SS guide rod for a couple years in my G17 which was with factory ammo. Now I've moved to to a gen 4 G34, set up w Jager guide rod and 13# ISMI. it's been running well, but the recoil spring feels so light. Maybe it's just because I'm used to the factory weight springs.
  19. I put Tru-Glo TFOs on my 36. I used the ones for the 21, and it was about 3" high at 10 yards, but really not bad. You might try the ones for the standard 9mms and see how they shoot on the 36.
  20. I have a Jager in a gen 4 34. recently added it with a Vanek trigger and no problems so far...
  21. Any rumors on Guns and Gushers IDPA this year? I haven't been able to make it in the past, but heard good things. I haven't seen it on the schedule this year
  22. I switched from Gen3 17 to Gen4 34, and I love it. I also wanted the smaller grip. They added a little reinforcement to the guide rod which supposedly stopped some of the issues. But I picked up a Jager guide rod anyway, which allows the same Gen 3 recoil springs. Running great for me.
  23. How about the Dawson baseplates? http://www.dawsonprecision.com/ProductDetail.jsp?LISTID=8000125B-1318948789 I don't have them, but they should still fit in the box so they should be legal for production and L10.
