Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Just updated the website with info and schedule... sign in from 8-9. shooters brief at 9am.
  2. There are about 15 spots available sunday still, shoot me an email at jeremy@ar15targets.com and I can reserve some for ya. Posting them tonight, along with squad assignments. We've been cordinating with 4 different orgonizations, so it's been a bit more complicated to get it all together in one place then usual, some of the stages are already set up and I can already tell a lot of effort went into them!
  3. If the match is canceled we will send out emails to everyone letting them know, and we will post it on our website and whatnot. However right now the chances of rain are 10% and 20% on Sat and Sunday, unless it's dangerous (lightning, flood or extremely slippery) we will have the match rain or shine. The facility is fairly well designed, while the bays will of course get muddy, the roads and access are well designed so we shouldn't have any issues. Carts would be advised, the first 4 stages are right next to each other that will be most effecient to walk between. Stages 5 and 6 (bonus) are however a bit away so a vehicle might come in handy!
  4. More good news and support for our West, Texas EMS Department benefit match. www.westbenefitmatch.com The Silencer Shop has just volunteered to provide lunch for everyone for free both days so you don’t have to pack your own lunch. Both Saturday and Sunday The Silencer Shop will be grilling up hot dogs, and providing chips and bottled WATER to competitors, spectators, staff, volunteers and guests. They will be set up on the demo range along with some suppressors and machine guns to test out. Tips will of course be accepted, and passed along to the donation to the West, EMS department. We are finalizing the round counts and stages right now, we are looking at about 125 pistol, 125 rifle and 10 long range shots. We expect to be able to post stage descriptions within the next 24 hours on the website along with some more exact round counts. Currently there are about 110 people signed up for the match, 50 people Saturday and 60 people Sunday. Because we are nearing capacity we have decided NOT to advertise the match to non-competitors to fill it up so we can leave room for last minute entries. However this means we really would like to get another 40 competitors signed up so we can write West a $10,000+ check! If you know anyone else that might want to shoot the match please send them our way ASAP!
  5. Marble Falls is a small town, I know they have some muesums and other quaint things, but I'm not sure if it's seasonal or not. We will have hot dogs and machine guns at the range however so they'd be welcome to come out for at least a bit and participate AAANDDD, the facility adjoining the range is an offroad park, they could actually rent a couple of 4-wheelers and go exploring.
  6. Hey did you get me and my friend down? I just re-emailed you again about penciling us in. were going to send our forms in sometime this week. we are for sure 100% going tho already have a hotel booked and all Gotcha!
  7. Hope everyone had a fun and safe Memorial weekend! As you have probably already heard we have over $10,000 in prizes and contributions for this match already, and are looking forward to showing our support to the West Emergency Medical Services. Right now we only have about 75 people signed up (fairly evenly at about 35 per day). We would REALLY like to fill this match to it's full potential of 150 people (75 per day) to give as much as possible to West EMS. As you may have noticed the two grand prize firearms are being randomly awarded at the end of the match, and you do NOT have to be present to win. We did this to make eligible to people that couldn't attend the match but still wanted to contribute. We have not been promoting this to non-participants yet because we ideally want to get 75 shooters per day so we can share the match with as many people in person as possible. However at the beginning of next week (June 1st) we are going to start trying to fill the empty slots with anyone that wants to contribute and be eligible for the two grand prize firearms (Still capping it at 150 total as promised.) (These non-shooting participants will not however be in the daily prize drawings which will be held each day after the match for participants.) If you plan on attending the match and haven't received a confirmation email from us yet, shoot me an email ASAP and let me know what day you will be shooting so I can write you down on the roster to save you a spot and then keep an eye out for your application in the mail. I want to make sure people who want to shoot have first priority before we start offering the slots to anyone else. I'm not sure if it will fill up, and if we have room of course we will accommodate people on match day if your schedule free's up last minute! Attached is an updated announcement. Happy shooting and thank you all for your support.
  8. YES! Go to this website, http://hiddenfallsadventurepark.com/ Copperhead Creek Shooting Range is actually part of, and literally in the middle of Hidden Falls Adventure Park, they have camping from primitive to improved on site. You would be a few hundred yards from the range. I don't know what thier camping fee's are but obviously let them know that your intent is to help out at the match Saturday, camp there Sat night and shoot Sunday. You are welcome to come as early as you want, help out and hang out on Saturday then shoot Sunday. The more the merrier!
  9. Yes, FMJ is ok. Basically we're trying not to destroy the steel, or ignite the forest, so no AP, solid steel core, tracer of Uranium tipped projectiles please.
  10. TJ, I got your email and have you signed up. (But you already know this since I sent you an email back directly too!)
  11. We are working on round counts, since we have three different clubs all sponsoring a stage each (meaning they are providing the design, staffing, targets and props), we are thinking in the vicinity of 125 pistol, 125 carbine, and 10 rounds for the optional bonus precision stage. Thomas, we will definately save you a spot, however I don't see a Thomas recently added to the roster, did anyone reply to you confirming they got your email? If not shoot me one directly and I'll make sure we get you on the list. We have had a number of military personel send in emails requesting we hold spots for them because they are currently unavailable but will be back for the match. Of COURSE we are happy to this. My email address is jeremy@ar15targets.com, I'll double check and make sure we have you on the list! That weekend is: Double Tap competition is Whitica Falls, TX. Sportsmans Team Challenge in Liberty Hill,TX (just 30 minutes from our match in Marble Falls.) MGM Ironman in Parma, ID. Various other regularly scheduled monthly club matches. (Probably even more that I'm not listing, I appologize) Finding a date for this match was a very tough decision, there are a lot of events going on all over the place, and the three other matches this weekend are VERY good matches. However we needed to schedule something soon (sooner we collect the money and have the match, the sooner we can get it to West EMS), and we felt that these other matches were fairly specialized and would definately be taking some of the competitors away, but they are more national level matches which leaves a lot of locals still around with eager trigger fingers! We also made sure that our match was available EITHER Saturday or Sunday so we could work around other peoples schedules, especially the other club matches.
  12. We are hosting a benefit multi gun match June 8th and 9th at Copperhead Creek Shooting Club in Marble Falls, Texas. This is about 45 minutes outside of Austin. The match will be a 5 stage, 2 gun match, pistol and carbine, we will have a bonus 6th stage with shots out to 600 yards for which you can bring a precision rifle to shoot with, or take your shots with your carbine! ***ALL PROCEEDS FROM THIS MATCH GO DIRECTLY TO WEST, TEXAS EMS DEPARTMENT*** Legion Firearms and STI have both donated firearms valued at over $2,000 each, combined with other prize donations from local business we have a prize table in excess of $10,000. The prize format is different than most matches, the prizes will all be by random draw. Due to the short time frame of this match, we felt that this would relieve th burdon on RO's, and increase participation of newer shooters! Match fee is $65, ALL OF WHICH GOES TO WEST. (The hosting facility, Copperhead Creek Shooting Club has donated the use of the faclity as thier contribution.) Please visit our webpage for more information and to download a registration form : www.westbenefitmatch.com Or here is a link to the match announcement: http://www.westbenefitmatch.com/wtbm_announce.pdf
  13. Hey guys, I'm sorry it's taken me so long to chime in here. First of all, I want to thank each and every one of you for your comments, suggestions, criticism and much needed support. This was our first major match, and boy did we learn a lot! I think everyone hit the nail on the head, twice, we had too much packed into one day, and the RO's did an AMAZING job making it what it was! The Sunday winds were tornado like, winds we've never experienced at the facility before! It actually broke some of the wall structures (not just knock it down, but broke the 4x8 sheets of plywood that were still held in place!). Scores- I had a scoring system in place and was all set up to enter the scores from all the stages and all the shooters, it would spit out the results, and we'd be good to go as soon as the data could be entered... The problem came with the exclusion of some stages, a scenario I never considered. It was creating errors in the formula and zero values for those stages were causing more errors. So long story short we had to re-invent the spreadsheet, and enter just the pertinent scores. This is why the only scores that are currently listed are the ones for the stages that were affecting the results. We do have the other scores for the other stages, and the night match. We will get those posted up ASAP on the website. *** We also posted the scores on our company website, www.ar15targets.com The scores are posted in two different formats on both sites, PDF files broken into each day, and overall and then as an Excel 08 (new xlsx format as was pointed out) for anyone that happens to have the new office an wants them in an easy to search spreadsheet format. *** Again thank you all for your support, we have learned a lot about a large match like this and I can only hope that ya'll still had fun even though it was completely different than what we expected! If we ever have the opportunity to hold another event of this caliber it will reflect both the good reviews and feedback we received from this event along with the learning experiences and criticism!
  14. If you would like to bring a motorized vehicle such as a golf-cart, quad, ATV, side-by-side, bulldozer, M1A1 Abrams, Tyco Radio Controlled vehicle or anything else of that nature send me an email with a brief vehicle description and I'll run it by the range operators. I don't forsee any objections to them but I'll double check before misleading anyone.
  15. Buggies, strollers, carts, golf carts, etc are all fine to have your weapon on. The main premise is that it must be safely secured and in a safe configuration as dictated by the Range Master. Yep, what Josh said (with the exception of golf carts, any motorized vehicles have to be pre-authorized by the range before use.)
