  1. The shell latch on my versamax synthetic is really easy to push shells past, even unmodified. Quite a bit easier than my M2. I took it out to have the button drilled and tapped, so I went ahead and polished it and enlarged the U shaped cutouts like has been recommended for the Benelli shell catch, but it didn't really need it. I guess I got lucky. If I can ever get back to my house for any length of time I'll post some pictures of my loading port mods.
  2. It's hard to beat the extended chokes from CDNN. They're only 10 bucks each, but shipping is a flat rate of $10, so I ordered several to make it worth the shipping cost.
  3. Big fan of the Vortex Viper PST 1-4. Get the capped turret model if you can find one, it's a little cheaper and there's really no advantage to the target turrets. I have 2, the last of which I found for $400 out the door. They are very clear and super fast on 1x when properly focused.
  4. A Nova or particularly a Super-Nova with its longer loading port is probably the best pump gun going for 3-gun. Get either one, add an extended mag tube on it, and go to town. If you're competing head to head with auto's you will be at a disadvantage, but for ease of loading alone I would take a Nova over an 1100 or 1187.
  5. If you have big enough hands, the quad load is where it's at. If not, a load 2 setup would be my second choice. Both of these methods will blow away a weak hand load. That being said, I think there is some value in learning the weak hand load, at least as a backup or for situations where you need to load a few shells while keeping the gun at or near your shoulder. FWIW, my current setup is 16 shells set up for quad load (TACCOM Quaload) and 3 weakhand caddies.
  6. I used a sanding drum approximately the same diameter as my index finger on a dremel. Just go slow and then finish it up with some really fine sandpaper.
  7. Good point, didn't think about that.
  8. I use Arredondo extensions for all my Glock mags, I get 20 reloadable in every .40 cal mag (23 in 9mm). I have never witnessed a 21 round .40 cal 140mm magazine.
  9. Anything internal is good to go for SSP, no issues with swapping out the striker.
  10. 21, 24, and 26 inch barrels are available, as far as how easy they are to find I'm not sure, I haven't looked lately. I use a 21 inch with a 10 round tube, which sticks out past the barrel about 5 inches.
  11. I looked around for a while and couldn't find one for my 21 sf. What if you milled the bottom of the Carver to be shorter, which would also make it thinner with the taper of the mag well? I wanted the mag well for faster reloads, not hand placement, so after considering milling a mag well or doing the Sevigny Speedway mod, I ended up just getting the Glockmeister grip plug, which fits well in my sf and really helps with not getting the mag hung up on a reload.
  12. I believe Benny Hill said he had some a few days ago.
  13. Just got my order submitted for a 11+1, hope I wasn't too late.
  14. I've decided to make this my primary loading technique, I'm below 4 seconds pretty consistently, and have beaten 3.6 second par a few times for a load 8, rolling the gun and quad loading weak hand. I'm certainly not loading anywhere near as fast as some of these guys, but I'm a believer in the system.
  15. I have no idea what a "training scar" is, but I'm sure I don't want one. I guess I'll have to stop looking at the magwell. I wouldn't want to make a "fatal mistake" while shooting at some cardboard at my local USPSA match.
  16. Definitely not SSP legal, but you will be fine in ESP. I only care about the overall results anyway.
  17. Just started loading with this today. I tried strong hand, but it just wasn't working for me. This video was after about an hour of practice, I had one 4.2 second run, but didn't get a video.
  18. Well, I shot 3 boxes of them recently from my M2 with zero failures. They seem to be decent shells, and they're priced right.
  19. Yes it is very doable. You can either find an M2 forend for a drop in fit, or use your current forend and dremel it to fit the M2 barrel. You won't have to modify anything that is visible when the gun is assembled.
  20. That is a pretty sporty classifier with a compact gun and an iwb holster. 18 points down? Much respect.
  21. depends on who is shooting them. Yes, they can be very competitive. I shot the classfier last weekend in 86.96 seconds with my G21, so I feel it's not a disadvantage at all, and probably easier to reload fast than a single stack. Until Gary Byerly or someone comes along and spanks everyone, but I don't think any gun will help me much when that happens.
  22. Shot the classifier again yesterday, first time ever shooting my CDP gun (Glock 21) in a match. Shot 86.96, so currently SSP and CDP Master, ESP Expert.
