  3. It is great pleasure to let everyone know that the Illinois Section will take place October 10-12 at Lefthanders Gun Club, Loami, IL. Loami is located approximately 15-20minutes from Springfield, IL. This is something that came to us on short notice, but we plan on making every effort to get the match registration up and going ASAP. In the next week we will try to get a match hotel established in Springfield, IL. The match will take place in an all day format, with choice of days. Limited slots for Friday to shoot with staff, saturday and sunday normal competitor days. We will have 9 stages and roughly 211 rounds plus chrono. Stay tuned for more updates. http://ilsection.wordpress.com/ Jeff Hicks practicalshootingsports@gmail.com
  4. No issues here with SNS coated bullets in a glock 34 or glock 35.
  5. I have put around 1400-1600 rds through mine before I seen any issues. The feeding at that point started to get sluggish but that was not due to the slide being dirty or a lack of lube, but rather a lot of dirt around the feed ramp. Personally I would clean the feed ramp, run a bore snake through the barrel and have fun. A lot depends how dirty your powder is. Running Vit N320 I have far exceeded the above numbers.
  6. Reccomend changing to the thicker grips. Changing something so small will totally change where your hands are at and might end up fixing your issue with the slide stop. I personally run the custom aggressive checkered wide grips to get a better grip on the gun and keep my digits in what I think is a better position. If you are still having problems swap your slide stops around. I personally like the longer slide stop, but keep a short in my range bag as a spare.
  7. Hornady 147 FMJBT are very accurate and soft. 1.135 OAL with no issues.
  8. I have been running the Hornady 147gr FMJBTs and found they are very accurate and super soft with a push of N320. I previously ran 124gr FMJ Winchester and had good accuracy with a push of W231.
  9. Everyone will give you a different opinion, but I know at our club level I have seen people choose different classes for a variety of reasons. Those reasons have varied from health, not wanting to worry about calculating reloads, and more focus on certain fundamentals better than others. As far as a personal opinion I think PRD and SSTK seem to force you to focus harder on alot more of the fundamentals for classfiiers than something like limited / open. If you can reload your PRD/SS gun well and manage the recoil of a stock gun I personally feel it is A LOT easier when switching to limited. That is most likely due to the fact that you have had to focus hard on all the fundamentals to get an edge on your competitors. At the end of the day you should probably prioritze what you want to focus on and what gun/class gives you the most enjoyment out of the sport. When I first started PRD was the least popular division in our local club and has grown to be one of the most popular with a lot more competition than the other divisions. Good luck.

    SP01 Decocker

I already owned an SP01. I shot PRD nationals with it, handed it to Mink as I left and got it back a week later. The problem right now is waiting on CZ-USA to get them built. My buddy that got the tactical luckily got one in stock at AA and had it tuned within 10days. AA is top notch on turning around guns. Once it comes in stock I doubt you will be waiting long. He will also work with you if you end up stumbling onto a deal and mailing it for the work.

    SP01 Decocker

My buddy just bought an SP01 Tactical done by Automatic Accuracy (Matt Mink's shop). It came back tested at 6# and 2# respectively and was nearly comparable to my SP01 Custom Shadow Target done by automatic accuracy. I think if you do one of these right you will enjoy it. For me the grips he had must go and it would take me time to get use to the decocker location. Grips my change some of that. If you want to contact him let me know and I will put him in touch with you.
  13. Practice - W231 124gr WIN FMJ bullet Match - VVN320 147gr HOR FMJBT bullet I stay with the W231 and 124 for practice, just due to sheer expense of my match components.
  14. Congrats on getting the gun Eric. I am running an SP 01 from Automatic Accuracy and love it. Shop around for the magazines you will have a few options and different prices on each. Make sure you pick up some extra TRS and a slide stop for your range bag. Have fun!
  15. Rammer I am not sure what class you are shooting, but a way to see where you fair is to go back to last years nationals results found here. http://www.USPSA.org/uspsa-display-match-results-detail.php?indx=6441 That should let you know where you stand and will let you get a better idea what it will actually factor out as.
  16. Supposdly some of the stages at the PRD Nationals will become classifiers. Not sure if it includes the ones mentioned above as I have not seen the setup sheets, nor would any of the staff admit when they would be released. Would make sense to run them at the nationals to establish a good baseline.
  17. +1 Canyon Creek Trigger. I went to canyon creek after trying a drop in. Rich is very reasonable and you will notice the a huge difference over factory or drop in. Good luck!
