  1. I posted this back in August when these first came out. Hopefully some of you can find these useful. Product Review Time - SNS 135gr bullets hit the shelves late last week. I had the opportunity to get ahold of some of the first ones out of the mold and have done some load work as well as shooting a few matches. Weight wise these are averaging just around 135.4. I found the bullet profile to be more of a thicker nose which correlated to a shorter OAL to get chamber clearance. For my CZ 75 SP01 ACCU-Shadow I ended up with an OAL of 1.070. This is not uncommon on the CZs, but shorter from the SNS 125gr at 1.100 and the Hornady 147 FJBT at 1.140. Running W231 I found an accurate load, but the gun felt a little snappy. When I switched to Hogdon PB the snappy part went away and the gun pushed similar to that of N320 on my hornady 147gr and was very manageable. Accuracy with PB seemed to be very good around 132 PF, probably some of the best groupings I have seen. During match performance I have noticed a very comfortable load with zero issues. Accuracy appears to be very good after about 700rds. I think SNS hit another home run. I have put about 3-4k of these through my gun since August and I have not seen any pressure signs (i.e. flattened primers)
  2. I use 2 of the heavier springs with my CZ mags and have had no problems during movements. I felt this was just a little bit tighter than how you are setup above. Several of my friends have added the white screws and tightened them up a little bit more to increase the tension. Those are really the options I see.
  3. Contact the NROI of USPSA. Here is his contact information. Troy McManus 225-205-4797 troymcmeanus@nroi.org
  4. This is an old thread, but definitely worth noting that Team Armalite is going strong. Tes had several of the team members shooing at some local club matches this summer with us and even brought a car full of new rifles to sight in. What I like best about the direction they have taken is getting normal employees of the company involved with competition. Not only are we seeing names like Greg, Tommy, and Tes that we had seen in years past, but they have sparked a fire in several others. Their professionalism is 2nd to none and as a result of personal experiences I would highly recommend.
  5. I have stuck solely with Gen 3 guns, but that was due to a problem I had seen with the early Gen 4 guns. Had issues with about every other G4 out of the box not ejecting empty magazines on slide lock. I noticed this on a g34 and then on a g22 both in G4. The G22 happened to a friend of mine in a state police academy. Needless to say we put him in a GEN 3. I noticed about 8 months later the packaging in the G4 boxes had changed and there were no issues with those models. I asked a few glock gunsmiths and had heard it was a problem with the mold on the early ones. I would say as long as you buy a newer G4 then your good to go and to buy what generation your most comfortable with. JMTC.
  6. This is by far one of the best investments I made. I started buying tons of primer tubes and keeping those filled, but with a busy work life I had no time to be filling primer tubes. I have had very few issues with mine and definitely would say it is a must if you want to expedite your reloading.
  7. Cant go wrong with an MGM. Got several of there IPSC targets and recently upgraded steel for our club. Highly recommend these guys and their customer service.
  8. I run 1.110 out of my shadow custom and accu shadow. I never had the time this fall to do any accuracy testing side by side. Will be great to see what Russel M posts.
  9. FWIW Automatic Accuracy has one of these for sale as of today.
  10. Great guns, well worth it if you can get a hold of one.
  11. Industrial landscape cloth is what we just replaced all our walls with at our club. Reasoning. It has little effects from weather, semi permeable with wind, but not as permeable as the snow fencing. Just from past experience the solid walls decrease the shooters ability to come on a target early when moving into position. It was also easily to cut and staple into place.
  12. I don't think your stage planning will change as much as you think, but rather make you think about how you shoot each stage more. In each division the name of the game is finding efficiencies. You might be surprised how many things you start to exploit by shooting production. The magazine changes do get built in, but most of the time look how often a LIM shooter shoots drastically differently than production. Magazine changes definitely effect time so being as proficient with those as possible helps your stage time. Good luck.
  13. Day 1 is in the books. The staff for this match really came together yesterday and early this morning to get everything up and going. This match would not be possible without their hard work. We also want to thank our Friday competitors for their patience as we got a slightly delayed start. Forecast is looking really good for Saturday and improving for Sunday. Registration will be in the clubhouse, look for our staff parking you in the morning. 0745 Shooters meeting next to chrono.
  14. We are just a few days away from the start of the IL Sectional. Although the weather has cooperated very little over the last few weeks that has not stopped our efforts on making the bays and range surface a lot nicer for the match. This has included a face lift with a fresh coat of rock and new walking paths. The HOA winner of Limited and Production will win a gun. All of the plaques arrived today, if you are unable to stick around for the awards ceremony on Sunday we will contact you and mail them out following the match. The prizes will all be done during at random during registration process and will vary in monetary value. Some of the prizes include, SNS Bullet Certificates, Nitro Ear certificates, billet AR receivers from Midwest Rifle Works, Springfield armory gear, and other shooting supplies from Automatic Accuracy and Practical Shooting Sports. Spots are still available Saturday and Sunday. Walk-ons will be allowed either day, but we ask that you show up for registration NLT 0715 to ensure all scoring devices are ready to promptly start shooting by 0800.
  15. The Sectional is approaching fast and in recent days we have added more Limited M class shooters and a GM entered the field in Open. One of our sponsors just got some 22LR in and some of that will be in the random draw prizes. Joining our list of sponsors now includes Nitro Ear http://www.nitroear.com/. Special thanks to our Sponsors: SNS Coated Bullets, Springfield Armory, Automatic Accuracy, Practical Shooting Sports, Shooters Connection, and Nitro Ear. Still slots Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, get signed up now. 16. We have 3 production GMs currently signed up for the match. If we meet all the other requirements we will ask USPSA to consider this match for a classification. Although limited and open do not have any GMs currently signed up they are building a very good field of all other classes to include Masters. If you have any questions regarding our match feel free to shoot us a message and we will try to answer your questions or accommodate your needs the best we can. 17. Get your entries in soon. We are getting a very healthy field of shooters signed up. Limited is the strongest division thus far with 38 total entries. We will be giving a handgun to the winner in limited, as we promised a handgun to those divisions getting 30 or more paid competitors. Other entries as follows, Limited 10 - 1, Open - 15, Production - 18, Revolver - 3, and Single Stack - 13. We are very excited that we have several revolver and single stack shooters signed up and hope to see more.
  18. T-Shirt sales have been extended through tonight SEP 7, 2014. If you want a match shirt get that order in tonight. This is gearing up to be a great match. New walls and props were tested at the club match this weekend. The feedback has been great so far and we anticipate the sectional stages being just as fun and challenging.
  19. T-Shirt sales will be cut off online on Thursday 4 September so we are able to get the order in time for processing prior to the match. There will be very few t-shirts available at the match for purchase. So far we have 60 competitors registered for the sectional match with limited being the largest division. They are just a few attendees away from a guaranteed gun for HOA. We have still been working with some manufactures to make sure we can give some good items back in the shooters bags. If you haven't signed up ensure you do as some of the squads are starting to fill up quick. http://ilsection.wordpress.com/2014-illinois-sectional/
  20. Due to moving the match from Sparta to Springfield on short notice and almost all the staff being local there will not be a match hotel. Here are some hotels closest to the range, approximately 15-20min. There are also many restaurants, walmart, meijer, and target nearby. 21. Stages Posted: We are waiting on official approval from NROI, but don't believe there will be any issues so we are not going to wait around. If there are any changes we will let you know the specifics, but at this time I do not anticipate any. Total round count is 215 rds. 22. We had a few people inquire on how to shoot this and still make the world shoot. We have competitor slots available for Friday to accommodate you. Self squadding is also available Friday. Springfield, IL Airport is a short 30min drive and Lambert International at St. Louis, MO is an hour and half drive from the range.
  23. We would like to thank Shooters Connection for coming on board and helping us out with targets and pasters for the match. Go see them at http://www.shootersconnectionstore.com/ Match Prizes - We are currently working on plaques for the match by classes / divisions / etc. As far as what will be given away: 30 entries in any division we will give away a gun to HOA. I want to give away some guns so I hope this will entice some more entries to come in. We are also in negotiations with some other companies trying to put together as much as a prize table we can for everyone. Prizes other than plaques and guns will be awarded in your match registration bag and selected by random lottery. Current match sponsors contributing to the prize table consist of Automatic Accuracy, Practical Shooting Sports, Midwest Rifle Works, and SNS Castings. The final touchings to the stages are being completed this week and we will be submitting to USPSA. Hopefully we will get these posted very soon.
