  1. That is what I was looking for... known good loads. Development is fine if you have the time and a place to test. I don't have much extra time and what I do have, I'd like to spend on shooting or dry fire. . It's okay, I'll figure it out....

    Sig P320 AXG

Okay, so now you can get a METAL framed P320! Let the swapping of grip panels begin! LOL!!!
  3. I like the idea, but they will have to catch up on "regular".
  4. Sorry you had that happen. If it's any consolation, I think myself and many here learned from it.
  5. I have a Gen 5 M17 MOS and Sig X5 Legion, I've owned CZ's in the past. I spent 25 years with Glocks for work and have won club matches with a G35 in limited (a long time ago...). The X5 pointed better for me with the optic, so I went with it. I also like the weight of it. My favorite guns are 2011's, the Sig is now a close second. Buy the one that feels and NATURALLY points best for you! You are a couple of hours from me, but if you want to meet up for a practice day at Triple C, or some range in the middle of us? You are welcome to try my Sig X5 Legion with Romeo Max and the Glock 17 with a Vortex.
  6. I'm with the others - SIGHTS first. The Dawson's fiber Optics are one of the few things "everybody" agrees on. Once you have the sights - just shoot. Sights that give you the information you need, that and a gun that goes "BANG" every time is enough to win matches and certainly enough to get started. If you MUST do trigger work, start with the factory 3.5 pound disconnector. That and some "Flitz" metal polish will work wonders on a stock Glock trigger. Google "Glock 25 cent trigger job". And you'll get to know your gun. We all play with gear, it's fun! But don't get distracted from the real factors that will make you score better at a match.
  7. First thing that popped into my head.... How this was going to end badly and be on news. "We now have body cam footage of an encounter that resulted in..."
  8. "OAL? Crimp? Anything out of the ordinary for the P320 X5 Legion?" I started this not thinking it would cause any controversy.... once again I was wrong. I was hoping that with the X5 being very popular somebody would come back with : "I'm loading. XX OAL with 125 FMJ Using XX for a crimp X.X grains of WonderPowder and getting 135 PF. I haven't had any feeding issues my X5...." I loaded up a VV N320 Load exactly from their data. I'll just go test...
  9. I beg to differ... The guns are a system, some are sensitive to other factors. OAL for feeding and magazine fit, crimp for chambers, sizing, bullet type, etc... THAT was my question.... For the Sig X5, the answer maybe - "not sensitive, they run everything" For example - Load for a Para .45 based on "Plunk test" and get back to me when the OAL you loaded won't go in the mags. Newer guns seem to be better sorted... 100K plus rounds, I think I have the basics. But always ready to learn.
  10. Sounds like a trip to Sig Academy could be fun! Shooting and gun shopping....
  11. Rowdy, thanks for the video, that was really helpful! Gives some insight into where practice time is best spent. You can hammer splits and have a fast draw but if you have poor transitions - both target to target and position to position - you are not winning. I had an early Master of our sport tell me once "Spend less time not shooting" and I think what your pointed out is the essence of that.
  12. Thanks for the feedback. I ran C-More's for years. I still have 4 or 5 batteries around from the old days... I lived in fear of leaving it on or not being able to get a battery! I have a Vortex on a Glock Gen 5 17 MOX that may get "reallocated" in the short term. Really liking the Sig Romeo Max on my X5, I'm leaning strongly toward just getting another one of those just for commonality and they use the same battery. "BORA". I have those per caliber - big bag of .40. With 9mm so hard to find, it's all accounted for!
  13. Will start loading tonight... Just wondering if there are any quirks or if there is a preference for crimp or OAL with this gun?
  14. New ones there all the time, today: https://texasguntrader.com/category/900/Handguns-for-Sale-Pistols-for-Sale/listings/1659099/NIB-SIG-Sauer-P320-X5-Legion-With-Extra-Mags.html I've still got "lines in the water" at several sites. If a new one pops up at a dealer, I'll PM you. . I think the Tribe here should be able to fine you one without to much pain..
  15. Bunch of used ones on Texas Gun Trader maybe someone will ship? For example: https://texasguntrader.com/category/900/Handguns-for-Sale-Pistols-for-Sale/listings/1647792/SIG-P320-X5-Legion.html
  16. I set "notify when available" at several sites and just waited. About two weeks ago one popped up at "Grabagun" and I bought it. I think you're just going to have to look across every dealer you can find with online inventory and when one pops - don't blink! . OR some guy will buy it to repost on GB for 1500... Hell I'd consider selling the one I just bought as a backup for $1500! I was also looking for an MPX - they popped up at Palmetto and I thought about it for a day.... A day too long. I found one but it took another two weeks of digging. Sometimes you can go direct to a dealer with a listing on GB. Good hunting
  17. Just so I know where to look... who is "MG" and what would have been the correct forum?
  18. As others have said, this is a gun issue, not a reload issue. Fix THAT. Having said that...when you go back to reloading - One thing that solved almost all the feeding problems in any of my guns was roll sizing. . Now I just buy roll sized brass to start with...
  19. I picked my X5 back up from Robert at The Sig Armorer today! First impressions - This is very different than the Grayguns Drop in... The GG is like my G35 with a trigger kit and polish... I agree with @Manwithnoname it's more of a "roll". Reminds me of shooting a light sprung revolver. It had some take up and creep. Very little over travel once it breaks. TSA felt good right away... It's set up as I requested - just a bit of take up, stop and break. Very little over travel and a shorter trigger stroke than stock or GG's by a fair amount. It is the shortest - read "most like a 2011" - I've ever found on a striker fired gun. I think I'm going to like it! I'll get a trigger gage on it tomorrow, I'd guess right at 3 pounds. Lighter than stock and heavier that the GG. FWIW - Robert can do a "Hybrid" and mix the GG parts with the work he does to get lighter pull weight. I decided to go with just his work - straight up - on this one. I'm going to drop the GG kit into my new back up gun and I may go "hybrid" on that one when I have it done.... I'm going to run this one for a bit and see how it goes. Can't wait to get it to the range!
  20. Black Friday has been good at TTi before....
  21. I don't know if it's the "Preferred extension" but i sure saw a bunch of TTI 's at the matches.. That's part of the reason I went with them. The Springer ->needing to drill was a non-starter. I looked hard at them, I bought their plate to mount my optic.
  22. Interesting... For 9mm practice ammo, I'll give it a go and see how it runs. The PCC might give it a bit more time to burn?
  23. Ya the stuff I have is left from my days shooting a Matt McLearn 9x21 open gun with a Hybrid barrel in it....loudest firearm I've been around ever! LOL!!! But it ran GREAT. But I digress.... From the data on the CZ forum and the Western Powders data I think I may start here and see how it shoots. Bullet Weight (Grains) Bullet Make Bullet Type Start Load (Grains) Start Velocity (FPS) Max Load (Grains) Max Velocity (FPS) COL (Inches) 124 FMJ 4.7 962 5.5 1,085 1.100 The 4.7 load won't make it but the 5.5 should be good with margin to spare....
