  1. hahahaha. fair enough. Thanks everyone for your input. Keeping them all now. The worse thing that could happen with that many mags.....is having to load them all at once! Poor Thumbs! What do you think about one of those Uplula loaders? Do those help? Want to sell any? I think I'm going to keep them for now. hahaha I don't use a loader. I never have any problem stuffing 10 rounds into 17/15 round magazines. My point was there is NO downside to tons and tons of magazines.
  2. See they listened to feedback and that's why we got the gen 4......or The SUCK as I call it.

  4. I use my carry gun sometimes in open. It has a RMR melted into the slide. I also have a slide cut for my 34 but I only have the one RMR right now so I can't run both at the same time.
  5. If I have my dies set for a 230 grain bullet, does it hurt anything to load a 200 grain bullet with that same bullet seating depth? It will fit in my mag and feeds just fine on the few I have shot. It's a 1911 Kimber by the way for the gun.

    The Dot...

I run a 6.5 RMR on my carry gun.
  7. Something about the cut in the front and the tension knob.

    Mag ejection

Armor All or a silicone cloth the night before a match. I have some used G22 mags that get stuck from time to time.
  9. Neither CR Speed nor DAA are legal as far as I know. Kinda why I am looking for options. The 771's are legal I think. I'm still searching around.
  10. If you were going to shoot both USPSA and IDPA with a STI 2011, what mag pouch would you invest in to be competitive in both sports?
  11. Thank you Thank you and Thank you
  12. Look at all the butt hurt over a hypothetical kid RO and people super imposing "their kid" into it.
  13. Do you think that an 11 year,or even an 18 year old for that matter, have enough match experience to know all the rules and application of the rules even if they do pass a test? This is what it really boils down to if you think about it. How many debates and different views do we have in the rules section over stuff we "all know" the answer to. And yeah maybe there does to be a height requirement......if you have to be in position to make a call, how can you make the call if your view is blocked by the shooter. Height could effect the way the time is recorded on the timer. You always see the RO's hold the timer about shoulder high. Remember its an 11 year we are talking about.
  14. I'm a large person and I'm sure it's hard on "adult size" RO's to watch me. I don't see how a "child size" RO could be in a position to see everything going on if the gun is over their head height. That made sense in my head not sure it got out in the same sense.
  15. I'd have just gone the GI Guide Rod/Plug route.
  16. Does anyone know how much a set of VZ grips and an Ice mag well weight for a 1911?
  17. Probably right but if I get around to setting it up for 45 it would say 45 for a year or more.
  18. Lots of people say the factory ammo OAL works in the STI guns just fine so try some and see if it does or does not work for your gun. Standard is 1.125.
  19. Good that will make things easier on me down the road.
  20. Is the STI frames able to allow the use of more than 1 upper with different cailbers? Like say you got one in 40 cal and had an upper made up in 45 ACP could you just switch upper and mags and have a STI in 45?
  21. LocTice and a 1/4 turn past snug is what I always do for front sights. I have put a rear sight on with a standard punch before.
