Steve,
Does this mean that if you are squatting and someone shoots you with a 104.9 PF SSR round, it won't knock you down?

Sounds more like the "combat crouch".......
Thanks that's what I was needing to know. I'm going to use a 2011 for IDPA and I might want to use my 1911 from time to time and I was hoping I could get away with just 1 holster.
How much interchangeability with the 1911/2011 rigs? I'm looking to get a good holster for a STI Eagle and I'd like to be able to use it for my Kimber 1911. Both are 5" guns. I'm looking at Bladetech most.
I am prepping for a new STI Eagle in 40 cal. I want to run it in IDPA ESP so I only need to make minor power factors. Given that you have to load .055 longer is there any resources (web site, loading manual) that tells you what the common substitution are? Like the 180 over 3.2 grs of Clays would have to have more powder to get to the same MV since it's longer now. Anything like that?
I was in this same boat 2 months ago. Upgrading from an Uncle Mike bag to something "nice". I went with the Shooters Connection bag and I can't be happier. Just be careful as you can and will over load it and need a sherpa to carry it
Have you tried getting a local or custom kydex-smith to make you one? When One Source Tactical started working with the Glock/RMR combo Dale Fricke made the holsters for people who went that route. They will probably need your gun and optic to make the holster off but it what I would do.
Sorry to necro this thread but I just put some Federal Champion in my range boxes and the MV on the back is 1075 and with a 115 grain bullet its only 123.
There is a guy where I shoot who uses his carry gun for IDPA/USPSA/SC. He uses a G26 with PMC Bronze factory ammo........he has trouble with steel poppers. We have watching him hit it and saw the popper rock back and forth but still not fall. It is a failure of his gun/ammo combo........then there is that one time the 45 shooters had trouble because of a bad one.
I'm thinking about getting a STI Eagle. I have noticed on other calibers, like the 40, that the loads for the STI guns have a longer OAL. Does the 9mm ones need to be loaded longer or is the same length for a Glock or Smith & Wesson good to go?
Id use what ya got since it's your 1st match. If you really are considered about re holstering it, I'd just get a cheap Uncle Mikes or whatever the local shops have for cheap. If the bug bites ya you will be getting a new rig soon anyways......maybe even a new gun too.
I am thinking about placing an order for some 180 gr 40 cal bullets. On the order form it appears as 10mm / 40 cal 180gr. JHP (3 case) $326.00/ea...... is the $326 for the 3 cases or is it 3 cases $978?
I have seen these a few times on message boards and talked about in general. Can someone point me to a good article about them so I can educate myself before I buy something I may or may not need?
