  1. Curious how it turns out. I have similar plans for the 9mm comped barrel I got from you. Got the barrel installed in a Stock 2 that was a .40. Fit a 9mm extractor, SA Xtreme trigger, and larger ambi safeties. Only ran factory ammo so far to test function. Runs like a champ. Next step is deciding on a red dot mount. Any recommendations? I like the idea of a 90 degree mount
  2. What atlas said. The clearance between the trigger bar and the wedge of the disco is too close to allow the trigger bar to fully reset on the sear leg. When the slide cycles the trigger bar is pushed down and Is pushed back up by the trigger bar spring. Since clearance is to tight the trigger bar is prevented from resetting.
  3. Before the extended FPB was introduced, I would have a welding bead added to the FPB, then hand fitted.
  4. This makes lots of sense. Curious if a 15-16 lb hammer spring and a CGW Disco fitted to shorten the DA pull would create a more linear trigger pull and reliable ignition. Thoughts?
  5. Here is some more info to help others pimp their Tanfos: This thread has lots of info and good links for fitting a CGW T3 Disco http://www.czfirearms.us/index.php?topic=69403.0 This website is from an Italian club with recommendation to help with reliability. http://translate.googleusercontent.com/translate_c?depth=2&nv=1&rurl=translate.google.com&sl=auto&tl=en&u=http://nuke.sardiniashootingclub.it/TanfoglioSTOCKIISmontaggioeLucidatura/tabid/191/Default.aspx&usg=ALkJrhhSvVNX0n-kmKaiJ2pltec0oJ2a6A
  6. Any chance of high primers? I started with the EG firing pin (before Henning came out with his) and would get lite strikes. Once I switched to the Henning pin I have had zero lite strikes. One thing I like to do is wrap a #2 pencil with 800 or 1000 grit sand paper chuck it up in a drill and polish the firing pin channel and the channel for the hammer spring.
  7. Which firing pin are you running. With that spring combination and the Henning DA/SA firing pin my stock 2 makes a serious indention on Winchester primers. I can launch a pencil about 10" on DA
  8. Do you prefer a short reset like that? If so, try a magazine with dummy rounds. Dry fire and cycle and check for positive reset. Working through a full magazine. That would be a good safe starting point to see if there is enough play for positive reset after everything moves around each time it's cycled by hand.
  9. Pretravel? Yes that's the correct leg. I read Himurax (hope that's correct) would take from the trigger bar. Never tried that but the idea makes a lot of sense and sounds much easier.
  10. Good to hear. Looking forward to how it works out for ya. Each T3 made the trigger have positive instant feedback.
  11. Was that after just dropping in the T3? No other fitting than the pin hole?
  12. J & L Gunsmithing has them $37. http://www.jandlgunsmithing.com/product-p/t1ps.htm
  13. Come to find out I did have a short recoil spring in my III, not a long slide one. I was having these FTF before changing the spring but thanks for pointing that out as at least now I got a proper one installedGood to hear. Call it a lucky guess on my part. I did the same once . I also agree with Nealio, needs some more breaking in. The finish on the stock III isn't very good at friction reduction. Add in the longer slide and 9mm minor ammo, things just slow down. Keep running it well lubed and dirty, letting the carbon lap everything smooth.
  14. Stock 3 is a long slide. The recoil springs are longer. Same with the guide rod. Stock 2 runs a 3.8" guide and the stock 3 runs a 4.2" guide rod.
  15. Gump, curious if you are running the standard slide or long slide recoil springs?
  16. Agreed. Installed 2 T3s in Stock IIs and one in a stock III. One stock II and the III had enough pretravel before install that the DA was the only fitting, after opening the pin hole. The other stock II required fitting for DA and SA reset
  17. Great, looking forward to it. Really like seeing different solutions others come up with to solve a project.
  18. No worries, there is a lot of info on installing a T3 in the Tanfo forum. Might be a good idea to start a new thread just for this, so others in the future would have a one stop info source on the install.
  19. Keeping my fingers crossed, that this may be the spark that ignites the flame
  20. Appendix D4, 21.5. OFM and aftermarket disconnectors are approved.
  21. I had a similar experience when I installed the xtreme hammer and one piece sear. The FBP wasn't pushing up (hammer back) enough to block the firing pin. I think, don't qoute me, my firing pin block measured .905, which wasn't long enough. Got the extended FPB which measured 1.015, again don't quote me , and fit perfectly once I took about .003 off. I took just a little off the bottom of the FPB, the side that touches the sear till I got perfect function
  22. I check for high primers when case gauging and before loading mags. I like to run my thumb over the primers and can feel if the primers are below flush, flush or high
  23. 3.2 gr of titegroup at 1.130 with 180 BBI or blue bullets crono at 136 PF. Another favorite load is 2.8 gr of clays at 1.130 also with BBI or Blue Bullets. This load also cronos at 136 PF.
  24. Haha. Wasn't sure if I was missing something or looking in the wrong place. Atlas pm sent. Thanks
